I took over a business that was very Successful for almost 109 years. The only thing I received was the client list and their inventory.. The biggest asset was their reputation for 109 years doing business and them having a contract inside Disneyland for 30 plus years. Am honored! Not all about money or control! ❤
As a third generation manager of our family business, this one hits home for me. Made me realise that our situation is even more complicated than this and refocused now to get the solution I need to drive forward
Been listening to some of the older episodes when Jimbo was on his todd, and the dynamic with JB has really improved the quality of this show. I find the pre guest chats really insightful.
JB here, thanks Tom - appreciate the feedback. As you can see, me and JIm have a LOT of fun making this pod so I am glad viewers and listeners are loving it too
34:24 1. Non Solicitation agreement (restrictive covenant preventing former employees from actively seeking business from your client base) 2. Non Compete agreement Prevents an employee from joining a competitior, technically that would also cover them working as an employe or sole trader of their own business and "competing" against you
Funniest moment for me was James pulling out the ‘no VAT on fish’. New segment should be JB reading off items and James telling us if it’s VATable or not
Restaurant owner from Australia here! Quick question about the legacy/establishment as a barrier to entry, ie. established 10+ years. What do you prioritise more in the beginning, the establishment of the venue (being in the same location for 10+ years) or establishment in the brand (different venues/locations because of lease terms etc, but same trading name for 10+ years)
@@businessmarriagepod not your best work JB. You need to Tackle the problem head on, Cast a Wider Net, have a better Hook and then further down the Line you'll School him.

A prize for the best fish joke! I know you are just trying to hook us in to benefit the algorithm. I’m sorry guys, but I’m not going to take the bait.
JB here, SOLID banter! I am not sure this way of gaming the algorithm is going to CATCH on... maybe not my best work!

Fight in the chippy last night, the fish got battered
JB how do I reach you about your services for podcasts?
JB - come on.
@JamesSinclairEntrepreneur give a man a fish, he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and you still have to chase him to follow up his leads 😂😂😂
@@JamesSinclairEntrepreneur Master Sinclair can’t wait to get a chance to talk to you.
What did the fish do with its free James Sinclair book?
It used it to scale up its knowledge!
He knows how many Breams make five...
A fish joke you say… it’s not the time or plaice JB
What do you call a fish that practices medicine? A sturgeon!
Fishmonger
I’ve just ‘caught’ up with this latest episode, came across it while ‘trawling’ through Instagram. Right ‘Plaice’ right time I guess.
