I feel like a lot of the tools in LBY wouldn’t work in the Sims example being the open and close hours, because the Sims isn’t opened world. I was initially really sceptical, but with each new video I find myself actually getting excited? I still don't know if its a game for me, but hell, I want to try and see for myself!
Seeing we can overlap lots with roads makes me think of something. There's a park somewhere in Sims 4 that's technically two lots because there's a road across, with all the loading annoyances it comes with. Does this mean that in LbY we could technically just make it a single really long lot and, potentially, build bridges above the road to connect both sides of the park without crossing the road? That would be fantastic.
It's not free to play. They have deliberately NOT said free to play. It's free to "enter" or free to "download". In other words, you can download it for free and either make a character and walk around ONLY without being able to do anything (free to enter), or download it but not be able to use it (free to download).
it's not a f2p, you know how EA is, right? today's game are more like download it for free and then in-app purchase / micro transaction (most mobile game) and using something called game pass (subscription based), EA sure will choose one of those method.
@@karinasnooodles_ This is EA. They'll be there in some form or other, it doesn't matter what they call them or what form they take. Lindsay is full of sh*t. EA couldn't lie straight in bed.
It looks like we can build a shopping mall if we want (which I will be doing) If I could suggest two things to the LBY team, I would like weather and seasons to be included in the base game (not sure if they announced anything about that yet), and the name of the characters to not be called "humans". Other than that, I'm extremely satisfied with everything. It's better than Sims 4 in every possible way. Giving players as many options as possible is the best thing for a lifesim game. I also love that they're being very transparent with us along the way. Thank you, LBY team
Omg I need to start saving up for my pc like right nowww! This game continues to wow me even while it’s still in development. Can’t wait to start seeing reactions to early access
A hot take: I hate the idea of modifying lots (i.e. resizing them) because that is simply unrealistic. Irl you can’t just shift the property line if you want more space so why in a life sim should you be able to? I like constraints, it makes me make creative solutions. The only thing I would want here is the whole world being divided into 20+ pre-sized lots
I’m so excited for this game to come out, and the moment it is released I will definitely bye it. Because I am so tired of the Sims limitations and the lack of gameplay and the fact that they have you be a cash cow for every little bit of crap they they release and don’t even get me started on the bugs that is released with the Sims…. I’m hoping that Life by You is much better and more enjoyable to play and have more of a story to create than EA’s could come up with.
I love the Sims 4. I will still be playing it. However, this game is just amazing, with all the things you can do. I look forward to when it comes out and being able to play it.
Yes, I’m so excited for historical gameplay. I have a historical world and a modern world in my Sims four, but it is so hard to tell historical stories because of the limited gameplay.
I’m looking forward to life by you even more so than paralives. It looks like there’s a lot of room for customization whether it’s building or the characters themselves.
My question is if there’s going to be multiple worlds we can travel too like in the sims or if it’s just this one world. Idk if this has already been addressed by them but im hoping it’s an added feature
I think in one of their earlier videos they mentioned that it would be one world when early access launches and then there would be a second world when the game leaves early access and officially launches.
I think it should stay separate the shower and toilet. You use the toilet more In one day than you shower so that’s more realistic. Same with eating and drinking. I like that feature
I have never played The Sims anymore since 2018 when their latest update made the CC transparent window and door lose its transparent ability and not fixing that issue. Countless hours to build a lot of cool house using CC since all of the original stuff are craps - only to find out all of the transparent windows and doors are blocked by the wall. Since then I do hope that the fate of TS4 ended up like SimCity so they can stop to robbed money from us by selling their DLC craps. Only bought 1 DLC (at sale price) since I bought the base game. Finally, there is a bunch of the same genre ready to launch in the near future; 1. Life by You 2. Paralives 3. Sim Life 4. .... 😆😆😆😁
Can I just say, you really cannot compare a ten year old gave vs one that’s not even out yet in regards to hardware/software used in build/buy mode. It’s so weird we would do this bc we wouldn’t do this with other games??
Only issues I have so far is it’s so dark and gloomy and I still don’t like the people. Sims 3 wasn’t my fav bc of the alpha look. But then Paralives is a little too cartoony but it’s all still better than what we’re getting from sins right now
I didn't have a good first impression of this game. The graphics, it looked too complex... but I see it will be as complex as you want it to be, and I don't care about the graphics anymore. It seems it's going to be a great game, and gameplay always comes before graphics. That is why I'm back playing sims 3 and not sims 4 nowadays.
I don't watch these Para video development videos that often, but I like what I'm seeing. My only criticism is the look of the Paras. They remind me of movies that place 2D cartoons within a real world. I just don't like it.
I still want to know if we will be able to name our buildings will we be able to set the season? Maybe you want it summer all the time will we be able to do that?
Which is fine I'd hope people would not be super impressed by everything so early on in the development. We still have 5 more months till early access and probably a year+ till the complete game is released and polish graphics are usually not completed till closer to release. But looking at the game now compared to a few months back graphics and especially lighting has been worked on.
Again you can't compare to just Sims 4 when there are 3 other Sims games and stand alone Sims games as well. A fair comparison takes all the current available games into consideration. But that of course makes Sims look better as it obviously is.
You think Sims 4 looks better than Life by You? How many expansions does Sims 4 need that never expands the game for people to get its terrible. Life by You has cars open world color wheel retail editing active careers Sims 4 could go on another 100 years and never see any of these features because its base game is trash.
@@lance9249 I never said that I said a fair comparison is using ALL of the Sims this game is a lot like Sims 3 but people don't use that because then they can't trash the Sims so much. Even though they are the ones buying Sims 4 and keeping it going. I love the Sims 4 and it runs really well on my computer unlike the Sims 3 which never ran well even on a custom built one. So I already know these games won't run for a lot of people whereas the Sims 4 will.
I think there's still doubt considering its not out yet especially from die hard sim fans but hopefully it's going to be a far more superior game to the Sims 4 ultimately! I can't wait to play this!! Reminds me of a more improved Sims3! Sims4 was a massive disappointment for me that I stopped playing and went back to Sims 2 & 3 and thats saying something about the Sims franchise!!
Because making a game is a little like writing a book. There isn't an obvious beginning and end completion state - always more can be added or changed or improved. And because games take years to make and there are many, many obstacles and things (both development-wise and life living-wise) that can happen in that time. LbY is already 4 odd years in development. That's a long time. It's similar to saying, "Why doesn't a child's plans for his/her future never happen exactly to plan?" Because stuff happens, plans change, obstacles have to be overcome. That's why. The difference between The Sims games and every OTHER game is that The Sims (EA) DOES put an arbitrary release date (obviously a ridiculously tight arbitrary release date because every single thing they put out is 'uncooked') that they insist that developers stick to - and look how shitty the expansions and stuff are for that game. That arbitrary release date is WHY those expansions are so shitty. This uncertainty is the very nature of game development. Is it frustrating when you see a game that you want to play that has been delayed? Hell yes. But knowing the above information, would you change that and make them release it early? Hell no, because you end up with an incomplete, featureless, extremely limited buggy load of shit like The Sims 4. This delay is NOT unusual for game development at all. In fact, it's entirely normal. Some games are delayed for years. Some never make it. The ONLY thing you can guarantee is that if a game is not given enough time to develop carefully and to proper completion, it WILL be shit. I play a lot of early release games and VERY FEW of them come out on time, and those that do are more often shit than not. It's actually the ones that come out late that end up the best games, because those are the developers who have not rushed and cut corners (like The Sims 4) and taken the extra time to make sure their game is great. Wait with patience if you want a really good game! 🙂
Everything. ALL. THE. UI. is purple. I hate purple. Mad. It looks like The Sims 3 Create a World but as part as the main game (make sens ? huh.) Very good. But still hate the lighting and the purple.
I 100% agree with you, I'm watching pixelade to hear about news from the life simulations franchise and some of the sims 4 new stuff videos made good but then you're watching videos about life by you or paralives and everything you can see is comparison to sims 4, and it's annoying because the sims 4 is old game and will be having realised for dedace, and life by you is a new game. Don't get me wrong I'm very happy that we are getting new life simulation game, but should it mean that I now need to hate everything about sims 4, a lot of players play it and saying that it is a stupid and shit game, so why you bought it?
we may not have this in sims 4 but sims 4 is 10 years old but i beat sims team watching this and paralives and going to make sims 5 better then this even
@@Sim-dil-e-icious That's not the reason at all. And he DOES often mention The Sims 3 in comparison. He can't exactly compare it to The Sims 5 now, can he - it's not out and nobody knows much about it other than it's online pay-to-play nature. The reason is that The Sims 4 is the major comparison is because it's the only current game out to compare it with. Unfair with respect to age perhaps, but the only comparison currently available, so it's only natural to do so.
@@Sim-dil-e-icious Judging by your extremely narrow and unknowledgeable views I see you bandishing around the internet, you REALLY desperately need some wider gameplay experience, lol!! 🤣🤣
@@Sim-dil-e-icious If you don't like Matt's content, why are you here? Every time he drops a video, and every time someone says something, ANYTHING negative about The Sims 4, regardless of what that is, you're there trying to shut them down. Why?? What's the point? Is it that you think that The Sims 4 is so good that it can't be criticised? That's what you sound like - not only to me, but to other people too. Yes, The Sims 4 is old, but that's not the reason for the criticism. The criticism is because The Sims 4 was never a good game - something you would also know if you actually played other games - and a wider content of games. And comparison between life sims is inevitable, just like all other comparisons across the world are inevitable - that's human nature. Comparison between games happens in ALL game genres. It's completely normal across the gaming industry. Deal with it! We all get it. You think The Sims 4 is a flawless game and, in your opinion, nobody should be allowed to criticise it. But that's not actually true, just your game naivety, and that's not human nature. Even the best games have criticism - my favourite games too - and that's okay. In my favourite games some criticism is justified too - there is always room for improvement. Criticism is healthy and SHOULD be allowed to happen - to every game and every other aspect of life too. That's how we and the things around us improve. What is NOT justified is unknowledgeable criticism from people who don't have the breadth of experience to know what is criticisable. And what is not justified is people who can't handle other people's justified criticism. If you can't deal with people criticising your favourite game, than maybe you shouldn't be here on videos that are obviously going to do just that. And Matt does criticise The Sims 4, and in quite a balanced way, actually. There are unbalanced video criticism of The Sims 4 too, but Matt's videos aren't amongst those. Perhaps a better place for you would be Lil Simsie, who apparently thinks The Sims is perfect, just like you do. Or better still, learn to deal with criticism constructively!!
This is more like the sims 3, i skip ts3 because it has too much of editing, like some of us have not much time to play game, but ts4 have too many limitation aswell 😅
The Sims 4 as you put it is 9 years old,how are you comparing Life by you (which is not out yet) to a game that’s been out for a decade. A far better comparison would be the Sims 5 (project Rene). I also think sims 4 is lacking in a lot of areas and needs in improvement but it’s not fair to compare it to a game that’s not even out yet.
He can’t compare it to Sims 5 when we know virtually nothing about the new sims game. And it’s also not “Sims 5” because they said the sims 4 will continue along side this free to download game. So that can only mean it is not the next iteration. If ea wants to release videos like LBY does then we all can have a new point of comparison. But since they’re not, the sims series are the only games we can compare them to. Even within the sims series sims 4 is a step backward so its issues have always been glaringly obvious to existing players of the series. New games just bring more attention to them.
your statement make a strong prove about the game itself. it's 9 years or almost a decade games and still lack of something, meanwhile A GAME THAT NOT OUT YET showcasing you what they do with their game, the progress, the transparency, and you want to compare LBY to something like project renee which no one know anything about it?
Sims 2 and 3 have map editors and a lot of features mentioned for LBY. Compariung it with the latest game in the series thats also been out for a decade is a FAIR comparison. Stop sucking off EA, you're not getting a cheque in the mail.
because he has nothing else to compare it too? also this is on par with the sims 3 so ea a multi-billion dollar company couldve easily done something like this a decade ago. also yes the game isnt out yet but from what we've seen and from whats been confirmed it definetly looks like its gonna be a big improvement from the sims 4. if the sims 4 was made by a small company then id agree with you but this is ea we're talking about.
@@EroDhika that’s the point I’m trying to make. EA already stretch The sims 4 to its limits the game was meant to be a multiplayer game in the first place there’s should be no comparing sims 4 to a game that’s not out yet. It’s ridiculous at this point

you can't compare the sims 4 to life by you in that way. The question is, a game that has been around for almost 10 years still has limitations here and there. and now a game that hasn't even been released yet is trying to break those boundaries and you guys aren't happy about it? You ask to compare this game with Project Renee or Sims 5, the question is, what do we know about Sims 5 so far when Life by You has shown you so far even though the game hasn't been released yet. Does this mean that in LbY we could technically just make it a single really long lot and, potentially, build bridges above the road to connect both sides of the park without crossing the road? That would be fantastic.
With that F2P bomb being dropped with Project Renee, I'm glad Life By You exists.
@EroDhika lindsay said that neither of these options are gonna be in the game and multiplayer is optional
@@karinasnooodles_ I doubt it. I knew who and how EA is.
@@karinasnooodles_ This is EA. They'll be there in some form or other, it doesn't matter what they call them or what form they take. Lindsay is full of sh*t. EA couldn't lie straight in bed.
It looks like we can build a shopping mall if we want (which I will be doing)
If I could suggest two things to the LBY team, I would like weather and seasons to be included in the base game (not sure if they announced anything about that yet), and the name of the characters to not be called "humans". Other than that, I'm extremely satisfied with everything. It's better than Sims 4 in every possible way. Giving players as many options as possible is the best thing for a lifesim game. I also love that they're being very transparent with us along the way. Thank you, LBY team
I'm getting excited even though i knoe I'm gonna live in YT 24/7 to learn how to do things, ngl 😂😂😂
Omg I need to start saving up for my pc like right nowww! This game continues to wow me even while it’s still in development. Can’t wait to start seeing reactions to early access
Game looks absolutely amazing, just worried about the pc requirements, my poor laptop 🤧
I already love this game ! 😭💖
Being able to access the save button in the build mode is so dope!!!
It feels liks Sims 3, but BEYOND
I’m so excited for this game to come out, and the moment it is released I will definitely bye it. Because I am so tired of the Sims limitations and the lack of gameplay and the fact that they have you be a cash cow for every little bit of crap they they release and don’t even get me started on the bugs that is released with the Sims…. I’m hoping that Life by You is much better and more enjoyable to play and have more of a story to create than EA’s could come up with.
I love the Sims 4. I will still be playing it. However, this game is just amazing, with all the things you can do. I look forward to when it comes out and being able to play it.
This reminds me of sim city 😮 as someone who was obsessed with building cities, I can see myself getting this
Tbh I'd spent my whole life building the perfect town in LBY.
I know what you mean. I was just thinking that I hope it doesn't keep improving this fast, or I might actually retire to play this game full-time.
F the sims 4 and whatever they are making (the sims 5?) I’m just happy about this game and paralives giving us features we want in this genre.
It’s sad I got excited when they were hinting towards being able to go to the beach
6:37 - it's actually me, watching all of this stuff
I think the first thing that I might do is possibly make a mideavle style world if the tools allow it.
Yes, I’m so excited for historical gameplay. I have a historical world and a modern world in my Sims four, but it is so hard to tell historical stories because of the limited gameplay.
You medieval players should try to request road editing options like changing the pavement to dirt roads.
@@lance9249 oooo. That's a good idea!
I’m looking forward to life by you even more so than paralives. It looks like there’s a lot of room for customization whether it’s building or the characters themselves.
Im just hoping my PC will be able to handle all of this lol I'm so excited!!
Wow! Can’t wait! ☺️
No subtitles, I need them to hear
Are we going to miss that one of the #'s was hotel??
The game looks perfect but I feel like this is gonna burn my pc once again and i am broke
The UI is separated into throat and stuff for more survival and actual real life gameplay. It’s not random
You know what's even crazier? The Sims 4 sees everything that Life By You is doing, and they are still choosing to give us crap content.😂
I can't wait to drop Sims 4
I think it should stay separate the shower and toilet. You use the toilet more In one day than you shower so that’s more realistic. Same with eating and drinking. I like that feature
He's talking about the order of the icons on the screen, not the actual actions. By "have them together" he means "have them *next to* each other".
Finally, there is a bunch of the same genre ready to launch in the near future;
1. Life by You
2. Paralives
3. Sim Life
4. ....
😆😆😆😁
This is magical. ❤❤
But then Paralives is a little too cartoony but it’s all still better than what we’re getting from sins right now
I am so excited 😭😭😭
I didn't have a good first impression of this game. The graphics, it looked too complex... but I see it will be as complex as you want it to be, and I don't care about the graphics anymore. It seems it's going to be a great game, and gameplay always comes before graphics. That is why I'm back playing sims 3 and not sims 4 nowadays.
I don't watch these Para video development videos that often, but I like what I'm seeing. My only criticism is the look of the Paras. They remind me of movies that place 2D cartoons within a real world. I just don't like it.
I need a new pc 😅 This is so inspiring.
once it comes out for early access goodbye sims 4.
But what if the order of the need icons can be switched around in setting?
What’s the price looking like for the game? Or is it free to download?
39.99$ on early access I think
I still want to know if we will be able to name our buildings will we be able to set the season? Maybe you want it summer all the time will we be able to do that?
ok i se to not be co,vincec by the graphics but im sooo interesyed in this
Which is fine I'd hope people would not be super impressed by everything so early on in the development.
So I already know these games won't run for a lot of people whereas the Sims 4 will.
i wanna see babies
I think there's still doubt considering its not out yet especially from die hard sim fans but hopefully it's going to be a far more superior game to the Sims 4 ultimately! I can't wait to play this!! Reminds me of a more improved Sims3! Sims4 was a massive disappointment for me that I stopped playing and went back to Sims 2 & 3 and thats saying something about the Sims franchise!!
...why can no one set and remotely stick to release dates anymore? FFS.
But still hate the lighting and the purple.
yeah i hope they make the UI more neutral lol
Im sure they'll be plenty of UI mods that come out just like in Sims 4 & 3.
This is just a simple UI they made to test things out, the final UI will look completely different and hopefully it’s not purple.
there will be UI mods and maybe even a setting in the game itself
@@lampasixEven if it is, recoloring a UI is fairly simple. My lowest concern is UI color 😅
the sims was good when made by maxis
Are you saying Maxis had more control during Sims 1 because even then it was under EA
@@lance9249 yes, maxis was the developer and EA just a publisher plus Will Wright was still there
Why he always compare this game to the Sims 4?👀 If you hate it then don't play it, simple as that.
Don't get me wrong I'm very happy that we are getting new life simulation game, but should it mean that I now need to hate everything about sims 4, a lot of players play it and saying that it is a stupid and shit game, so why you bought it?
we may not have this in sims 4 but sims 4 is 10 years old but i beat sims team watching this and paralives and going to make sims 5 better then this even
I bet they won't...
@@fransmith3255 well then they revealed project rene aka sims 5 you can already see they coming for paralives with similar stuff
I do like it, I just hate the art concept.
I’m not going to compare this with The Sims. It will not be fair😂
It’s ridiculous at this point
as a console player I'm jealous i wont be able to get this 🤚🏻😭
looks so complicated
because It's for and older people not for kids and children like in sims 4
All the ex-simmers are crying tears of joy. The Sims is like a toxic abusive gaslighting partner, and Life by You / Paralives are like the person who shows you what a healthy relationship is actually like. Im so happy for these.
exactly!!
I think this looks absolutely spectacular and amazing, but I really do love the art style of paralives better. If this game’s freedom and paralives’ art had a baby, I would dump all of my TS4 DLC money on it
EA shitting themselves. Hopefully.
you can't compare the sims 4 to life by you in that way.
Comparing games of the same genre is a natural thing, unless you are the type who doesn't like criticism, doesn't like comparisons, you should go back to the cave or to Lilsimsie.
Sims 2 and 3 have map editors and a lot of features mentioned for LBY. Comparing it with the latest game in the series thats also been out for a decade is a FAIR comparison. Stop sucking off EA, you're not getting a cheque in the mail.

U shouldn’t compare this game with sims 4 , life by u may not be out until sims 5 is out , sims 4 is an older game so what they are creating now of course would be more advanced then sims 4 but just as or less advanced as sims 5
