Aphex Twin [AFX] - I'm Self Employed [MS-DOS Version]

- This remix comes close to what AFX's "I'm Self Employed" (Analord 6, Rephlex, 2005) might have sounded like on an early 1990s IBM PC soundcard.
It has been done with the OPLoid FM-Synthesizer plugin for Ableton Live, which imitates the synthesis principles of the Yamaha YM3812 (OPL2) and YMF262 (OPL3) FM chips. These chips were widely used on IBM PC-based sound cards in the late 20th century (e.g., AdLib and Soundblaster) and defined the sound of the "MS-DOS era".
Except for some high-pass filtering, the OPLoid's output has not been modified for this remix.

I don't know why but I never use to play this track, until one day about ten or eleven years ago it came in in the car while I was waiting to pick somebody up. It has been in my top five AFX tracks ever since.
This song is what plays when you're asked to input your initials after you beat the game of becoming a fucking master of electronic music innovation

Yes, that's a tempting idea! One of the high points of the Analord series in my oninion. The "formant vowel" synth line would be difficult to imitate, though
Yes, it’s one of my favourite tracks in the series. I’m Afraid I’m not the most musically literate and I’m unsure at which point in the song the “formant vowel” is lol. Regardless, keep up the excellent work :)
