It’s not exactly how I would want it (my dream would be to have my own BTS crew so I can just focus on my job), but I try my best to bring y’all along.
I always felt for the Directors and Editors trying to turn all that footage into something meaningful and engaging. Not that it isn't, but it seems from interviews that there can be a lot of hurry up and wait for crews.
Tommy is the reason I got into fpv. We met at Tempe AZ cardinals stadium at the fpvlighttrax event. Hung out, flew rigs and just chilled. So glad to see a person as kind, and helpful as yourself coming up like this. Can't wait to see the final shots in the show. Keep it up man. You are an inspiration!

Dude I was fascinated with the whole production beyond my portion. Each boat has its own mini production crew, there’s 6-7 boats spread out at Dutch harbor, plus the helicopter crew, ground crew, and then me. The orchestration is madness! Glad you enjoyed it

Hey tommy, I live in King Cove, AK(less then 200 miles from Unalaska). I’ve been wanting to do exactly this type a job. I’ve lived in AK my whole life, and alaska is my home. I’m definitely trying to get good, and into the cinematic area of fpv drones. This is the kind of footage I’m wanting to produce, and am getting closer and closer to getting out and trying cinematic footage. Do you have any tips on how I can get my footage noticed by big companies like discovery? Edit: yes I do have my Part 107 certificate(alongside with a PPL)

Tommy, mad respect ✊! Flying in extreme cold, on a boat, into headwinds, huge rolling waves. Com’on….I’m amazed you even attempted this. This is awesome though….loving the ride your taking us on. Those of us who fly FPV know just how big a challenge this actually was. 👍👍
FYI: thinking that slight tilt you felt was because you may have calibrated the accelerometer (in betaflight) while on boat. So wasn’t truly level. For those curios can also DISABLE “angle protection” by setting value to 180 degrees. 👍

Yea when I think back on it, it was really when I was fighting the headwind back that I started to feel uneasy. I needed like 60% + throttle to move forward. And then the gusting would surge the power… yea that’s when I started freaking out lol

Some honestly stressful situations on this job, but glad that you survived it in one piece, even though you lost one of your drones. I watched this series with my brother and his wife, and even though they don't fly FPV (I just talk their ears off about it), they really enjoyed it. Awesome work 👍
I fly a toy drone, and I used to teach offshore survival which meant swimming in the North Atlantic in winter wearing one of those suits. You, sir, have my respect. Combining both is not a thing that any rando is capable of. One needs both talent, and nerve - and you got both by the shovelful!
