Happiness and freedom aren't down the road for you, they're right here and right in front of you. It has forced us to admit that life doesn't HAVE to be overwhelming, stressful, or a never ending blur of work, home, work, home, McDonald's happy meal.
    This channel documents our journey, as a couple, at decluttering our life and taking control of our happiness. We share Moniques Car Life experience, our journey to becoming debt free, our process of saving money to buy an RV, to eventually purchasing our own land. How we cried, laughed, and tried again. So tune in. But more than anything, enjoy a really good story about love and living.

    I also refuse to pay rent for a house/ apartment/ room which always meant I was unhappy because I couldn’t travel, I didn’t have enough energy to learn other languages, to write stories, to make videos, to hike, and now I can do all this and it feels so great! I even was in a clinic because of depression before I gave up apartment life and started car life. I’ve been mentally healthy for 2,5 years which I have lived in my car now. It’s because I’m outside as soon as I open my door and stand up. It’s because I see new areas each day. Thank you for being there ❤️👍

      That's wonderful! I'm really happy to know your depression has gotten better. I was never clinically diagnosed with depression, but I really feel I suffered with the disease. Unfortunately, I work a lot at the moment, so I'm not at a point where I can wake up and go outside to enjoy nature or hike, but I'm getting there. I wake up and go to work, but at least I'm saving money for my future and paying off my debt much faster than when I had to pay rent. I hope things continue to get better for you :)

    Hey I want you to know you’re not alone and I resonate with you. I’ll be starting my journey next month once my lease is up I really can relate to the mental bondage you felt living in this American system. I’m tired of paying thousands in rent when I barely have time to enjoy it because I’m working to pay for a place I’m not at it’s ridiculous. I don’t have friends, just getting out of a toxic relationship, and I’m the black sheep of my family. There’s nothing holding me back really. I want to live a traveler lifestyle... if I want to sleep in my car cool... if I want luxury lodging I can do that too but to sign another lease and be stuck in depression is a no go for me. I felt mentally trapped. It feels as if I’m living to pay bills. I can’t wait to pay my last rent in Oct. & never look back until God says. I want to work to LIVE. Not live to WORK! This is good work you are doing on this channel, it helps me to feel less alone and to look at this change as a positive transition for myself. Much love and be safe ❤️ I’ll be buying items from your Amazon shop for sure!

      @Real Talk With Serenity Love Hey 💕Honestly the journey was very tough and even more isolating. There are so many little things that you don’t think about before moving to your car that is a hassle when you finally make the decision. I feel like I was just as depressed honestly.. sorry don’t mean to burst your bubble just keeping it real. Maybe if I had more space I would’ve been happier but I did grow a lot and have a different outlook on life. I also was able to help out other people in need more often since I was constantly in my car driving around with materials people needed. That was blessing in it! Hope this somewhat helps. Everything is not always as it seems. There are pros and cons of every lifestyle.

    Thank you for sharing your story. I have been living in my SUV since May 2020 and it is freeing sometimes trying especially during the pandemic but I make do. I can relate work sleep eat and repeat for years I've been doing this and my family always joke about me using my apartment as storage. Thinking back all the money I could've saved makes me nauseous. I cant even entertain the thought of another aprtment/townhouse for rent and neighbors! 🙄 This way get to work wherever I want without burning gas on travel assignments I can just stay where I am instead of traveling home (I'm in healthcare). My wife passed away recently, but I’ve stored away some amazing memories in my head. I’m struggling at the moment I invested in my wifes country (Morocco) and without her I’m really struggling with their legal system regards my property, but they say God tries those He loves so I can’t complain. For those of you that say you’ll never pay rent again…what’s the alternative? For those that want to try this lifestyle, should they save first if currently in an apartment? How do begin process of pairing down your stuff or do you put it in storage? How do you bath/shower/use toilet on a daily basis when working full time? Should I start looking for a remote job?Thanks

    • @simmpleenough
      @simmpleenough  Год назад

      Hello!
      For me, the alternative is saving my money for the next several years in hopes of buying land, in cash. Then, my partner and I will live on the land in this van, or a tent, or yurt, while we build our home without taking out any loans.
      I naturally don't like owning a lot of things, so it wasn't hard to downsize, since I didn't have too much to begin with. I didn't own a couch or much furniture in my apartment...only a bed and dinner table. I have a small 5x5 storage unit that holds my washer, dryer, books, and kitchen appliances.
      I shower in the gym or take bird baths in my van.
      Remote jobs are very helpful in this lifestyle, but you can live this way with a regular job. I have never worked remotely while living in my vehicle. I worked full time and drove to work everyday. Gig jobs, like door dash and instacart are good options, as well.

    • @simmpleenough
      @simmpleenough  Год назад

      Oh, and saving money before moving into your vehicle is helpful, but if you already have a way of making money when you move into your vehicle, then it's not absolutely necessary. Most of the saving will happen when you're no longer paying rent.

      @@simmpleenough thank you so much for replying to all my questions! Lol. I’m in a unique situation…was in an accident last year(fire) lost all but my car(05) and cell phone. Spent 22’ recovering and then went back to a low stress job to get re-acclimated to working with an injury. Now I’m finding myself job hopping because Covid has changed my idea of how we work as a society. I don’t want to waste my time working somewhere that I hate just to get a check. I just don’t want to work “just anywhere”…I’m looking for a job that aligns with my values and passions and strengths and I spent a long time in a job that was not. Been staying with a family member who keeps threatening me to leave but due to my salary I don’t seem to make enough to even get an apartment tour. I got offered an opportunity to go back to the industry I left which pays more but is more stressful but I’m considering this lifestyle to save. I’d prefer a van to my Cruiser but I honestly don’t want to drop upwards of $3000 just to get into a lease for a place that is not really worth what I’m asked to pay. The cycle you spoke about in another video is real and it can be soul crushing. If I worked for a year, long enough to save to get a bigger vehicle maybe I could make plans to get out there as a nomad but it would take time or I’d need to start car dwelling as soon as I start the job which might be a bit tricky. If there was a way to car dwell but have a dedicated place to bath and use toilet I think it could work. Maybe even short term housing somewhere after putting my clothes in storage…but like you I want something more than just eating sleeping and working….

    When you get your homestead will you be renting out spaces? My husband and I have a shed/tiny house and are trying to find a place where we could put it. With like minded people.

      First of all, isn’t it great to find a spouse who’s into the same things as you?!! Not everyone is okay with living in a tiny home/shed, so I think it’s awesome that you’re both into this lifestyle. I used to think I’d be single forever because I never met anyone who cared about minimalism and homesteading as much as me. I’m so grateful 😊❤️. To answer your question, at the moment, he and I have no intention of renting out space on our land. We’ve discussed this topic before and maybe we’ll change our minds (I’ll make a video about it if we do), but for now it’s not in our plans. I hope you both are able to find what you’re looking for 😊.

      About 5 or 6 days. The jug is 2.5 gallons and I try to drink 1/2 gallon of water a day. Sometimes it lasts longer if I drink water from my job, while I’m at work. I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😊

    Thanks for sharing your life. Sometimes you have to do whats best for situations we find our selves in. At least you have a car which I’m sure your great full for, just keep living each day the best that you can. Things will get better for you. Continue to be positive and keep moving forward. What country are you in. I noticed the video from Netflix was in Spanish.

      I appreciate your kind words 😊. I’m very grateful for my car and I’m feeling much more positive these days. I live in America, I just watch most things on Netflix in Spanish so I don’t forget the language. It helps me practice. Thank you for the comment!

    You know it is written in Al quran, life is many lies, life is a game and many pretend, dont get deceived! Be yourself, even prophet Muhammad so famous through out century, he only lived with two clothes, one that he was wearing, the other was in drying! He could get rich if He wanted to, all the kings at that times were bowing under him, but he didnt do it....instead prophet Muhammad decided to remind people with good deeds....no materialism intake, only giving....peace to human kind!

    I really wanna thank you for blessing us with your channel. I got COVID last year and fell behind on bills and rent that I was already struggling to pay. Fast forward to April 2022 I was evicted from my apartment. and lost my job in the same month. I lived with a friend for 2 months and I didn't wanna risk her getting put out so I left as if I was moving into my new place but I don't even have a place. I've spent these past few months living in my Jeep. I feel alot more at peace. I'm still continuing to pay back the debt I'm in but it's not as bad because my Jeep suits me just fine. You gave me courage. Thank you. ✨
