“Ok, you go pray!” Honestly, people may be and look different, but in these crazy times, a person of prayer is a breath of fresh air. ❤ Glad you made some money. You did it! 😊
Sticking with the beet harvest until the very end is proof that you have the strength and determination that it takes to homestead! I'm really proud of you and I know you are so proud of yourself accomplishing this! Farming is a lot of hard work from seed to harvest - for a season. (Farm family right here! LOL) Enjoy the season of rest now! Well done! I'm so glad I found your channel!
Thank you so much! I know homesteading won't be easy and sometimes people roll their eyes when I tell them it's what I want to do, as if I won't last. I believe I can do it. I appreciate your comment.
Beautiful to hear that you had a great experience!! Glad that you stayed until the end and were well compensated!! Beautiful photos…! It’s wonderful being “different” and having the opportunity to meet different people. That was my main experience in college. As much as we are different, we are more alike than anything. #humanrace #livinglife
Super proud of you for taking the chance and pushing yourself to finish what you started👏🏿. Us Black and POC should seriously consider taking up space in all these opportunities as long it doesn’t pose imminent danger to us. RIP to the person that lost their life 😢
Thank you, and I agree 😊. On the last day, my one remaining coworker, as well as people from management, complimented my work ethic & told me I surprised them by staying until the end. It felt good to be a positive representation for POC, Muslims, and even women (because I was the only woman who stayed). Thanks, again.
I’ve met quite a few of us POC that are doing more seasonal work. I wish there was more of us actually getting out here and seeing the national parks and stuff like that and the best way to do it is to work for them and so many of them hire seasonal work and you work one season you come back the next and it’s great. Most of the national parks, of course provide room and or room and board..
Long work days with no time off seems to contradict all their safety talk. They've never been my favorite veg, but I'll never think of beets the same way when i consider buying them. I certainly didn't know lives are risked to bring them to the table. Thanks for an eye opening video!

@simmpleenough I don't recall if you answered this or not, but for you, do you think this gig was worth making the trip up there now that it's come to an end? After stopping back in Chicago and opening my brick and mortar for a year. I think my choice to leave the road for a year was valid for me. I just made it back on the road. Travel route 66 from chicago all the way to Cali in 7 days. That was fun. I recommend most definitely getting the route 66 passport as it give ya Places to stop and see along the road. I'm at Arizona Kingman wash right now, but gonna head a lil further south. Maybe back to Yuma or lower Texas?!? 🤔 Depends on how their salvage yards and planet fitnesses are looking. LoL I'm gonna keep traveling and looking for parts at salvage yards to keep improving my vehicle little by little. Anyways...safe travels to you on your journey. If our paths cross one day on the road, feel free to say wzup. Blu of Blutintphotography.com
Very good. I do have one question which I hope you can answer: the guy who injured his ankle: how many days had he been working at this point? I'm wondering if fatigue played a part.
In agriculture, what are the laws for working with no time off. Even if its subcontracting, this does not sound legal. They are worried about drug use yet they physically wear a person down with long working days and no days off. This would be just as dangerous for a worker as using drugs or alcohol.
Did you ever add up the entire amount you earned gross. After taxes what do you think you will net and how many months will those earnings last you for your van living expenses?🌺🌻🌺
Yes, I made a little over $5,500 after taxes. I only require about $800/month to live, but I don't want to spend all of the money I just made, so I'm planning to start gig work again in January. I still have money I made from gig work earlier this year that I'm currently living on.
It's in several states; Idaho, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, North Dakota are the states I've heard. They might list them on the Beet Harvest website.
Yes, two of my team members had to leave to get to another seasonal job they had a contract for. The third person volunteered when management asked 2 people to leave early. So, I was the only one left and joined another team. But one of the night shift teams all quit at the same time.
😊Hello. New subscriber here. I look forward to seeing you achieve your dreams😊 I also hope to settle remotely off-grid. I am saving and paying off debt right now while I take care of two people currently dependent on me. As soon as I can, I am hitting the road to find that, "I'll know and feel it when I see it piece of land that it is home".
So are beets permanently off your menu after all the hard work you did working with them? Does your eye start to twitch when you see them in the store? Great job!

I know. I feel that would be very difficult to live with.
Thanks for Sharing
Hey! You’re very welcome.
We had been working about 7-10 days when that happened.
In agriculture, what are the laws for working with no time off. Even if its subcontracting, this does not sound legal. They are worried about drug use yet they physically wear a person down
with long working days and no days off. This would be just as dangerous for a worker as using drugs or alcohol.
Nothing has been mentioned about. Being able to use the bathroom?
There is a building with showers and toilets.
How do you stay safe?
What state is the beat harvest located in?
It's in several states; Idaho, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, North Dakota are the states I've heard. They might list them on the Beet Harvest website.
Did y’all get paid more once the team got smaller?
No, we didn't.

Good for you!! Way to persevere! ❤
Thank you!!
Do they accommodate if you need to do prayers like fajr etc?
Yes. You just work out your breaks with your teammates. I told my teammates what times I wanted to take breaks and they'd work around that.
I enjoyed the video. Much respect for your hard work.
Thank you!
Assalamu Alaikum, Alhamdulillah thank you for sharing your experience. I see your gratefulness , sounds like a great learning experience 😊
Wa alaikum as salaam! Yes, it was an all around wonderful experience. I'm so grateful for everything I learned.
Question. Did you say your team quit and then you had a barbq? So like multiple people quit at one time? That is sad.
Yes, two of my team members had to leave to get to another seasonal job they had a contract for. The third person volunteered when management asked 2 people to leave early. So, I was the only one left and joined another team. But one of the night shift teams all quit at the same time.
P.S. Safe Travels
You go girl! Awesome job! Can I assume you never want to see or eat a beet again?! At least for a while..😂 Rest!
You are correct, lol!!
Did she eat them too or just harvested
You go Sis completing this commitment!! I've always wanted to ask about your experience being a hijabi nomad. Stay safe!
Thank you!
Now that you’ve worked the beet harvest successfully you’re all ready to work the holiday season for amazon.
Hello! Thank you so much for subscribing. I hope we both achieve our off-grid dreams 😊.
So are beets permanently off your menu after all the hard work you did working with them?
Does your eye start to twitch when you see them in the store? Great job!
lol! Several other people asked me the same question! What's crazy is I bought some pickled beets last week and tore them up 😂 🤷🏾♀️.
That’s just wrong! Companies should not be ABLE TO WORK YOU LIKE A SLAVE. Sorry but that’s what that was, SLAVE WORKING CONDITIONS!
You are my kind of a person. You have earned your right to ENJOY this journey. Full speed ahead.🔥🎯🌋💣🚣
Thank you 😊 😊
