    Hey Daniel, I live in St Clair Shores Michigan. Our deer season is over January 1. We don't have a long season like a lot of other states. I just hope I will be able to get out one more time. Since I screwed up my back, it's been years. Love your channel and videos. Take care and be safe.

    I am also from Michigan and we do have a long season. It starts with special hunts then from October 1 to January 1 is our archery season. This year some special hunts extended it longer. Our firearms season has always went November 15 to November 30. Then we have a muzzle loader season for 9 days.Michigan's Upper Peninsula is full of wolves and the deer herd is decimated and the future looks bleak as far as getting them under control. I have hunted for 60 years and also had an outfitting business in Saskatchewan so I have seen it all. At one time the U.P. of Michigan was the mecca for big bucks but sadly it wont come back in my lifetime. Years of mismanagement and wolves has completely decimated our deer. I am also a taxidermist and want to say Thank You for your videos.

    What’s up with upright straight this season? They must be making a comeback. I bet I had 75% of customers wanting them. I guess everything always comes back around huh.

      I have a lot of them to do as well. I’m sure it’s because people get tired of seeing repetition and in the last several years it’s been all semi sneaks with pinned ears from every taxidermist

    Why don't you rough up the forms? Would ensure good adhesion between the cape and form.

    • @thecedarridgechronicles
      @thecedarridgechronicles  5 месяцев назад

      I typically just sand the slickness off of the surface especially when the form is very hard with a slick surface. Then I will run the tip of a screw along the creases in the muscles to give the paste something to grab, but I also use Pro 1 hide paste and if the head is bagged on and off for several days so the paste sets in sinc with the hide, I have no issues with drumming.

    What are you using to lay down the hair on your stitches?

    • @thecedarridgechronicles
      @thecedarridgechronicles  4 месяца назад +1

      I use a strip of cardboard and staple it the length of the seam until the cape is completely dry
