Exactly.. I was thinkin how I would have quit and called someone after so many attempts. We live in a world full of shortcuts that are actually encouraged. So from time to time I forget that there was a time when u just had to figure it out .
@@TheOfficialAT At 71 I don't mind working on stuff when I want to but starting to get tired of doing it cause I have to. Like Otto I'm too frugle to pay someone to do it for me.
Otto you have a lot of the same hutzpah that my grandfather Earl inspired in me. Now I as a grandfather teaching my Grandkid's show your videos to show them I am not the only one that has fun as they work hard, play hard, power thru life. All with a laugh and story.
Man I loved watching you, your wife and kids work around on that land. What yall did on your land is real and that's what I love. I enjoy paddling around our little place. 😂 so if you keep on keeping on Sir! People will watch you!😊
Im in tennessee.Ever since I seen the episode where otto blew in the gas tank and fuel shot back in his mouth I carry a battery power leaf blower with me. Crack the bleeder blow in the tank bleed the system works everytime. Thanks for teaching me tricks otto kilcher.
I enjoy adventures no matter what they are. You are like the depression era farmers I grew up around in the 60s. You couldn't afford to pay for things to be done for you. More often than not a neighbor helped out for future assistance when they needed it. So watching you takes me back to a time when everyone were much more self sufficient. Be safe out there, Otto! Cheers Terry
Glad to see you looking good and healthy after your accident Otto. Sending ❤ from Scotland. Plus I'd watch anything you posted, as i bought every season of Alaska The last frontier and missed it when discovery stopped making more of them.
I lived in Alaska for five years. I enjoy following your adventures I find that there is so much more to a beautiful state than what I was fortunate to see and do. I truly loved living there. Thank you.
Love your RUclips channel Otto!I I'm beginning to think that there isn't anything you can't fix. What a blessing you are to your community!Looking forward to your next adventure, God bless you and your family.
Yes Sir... you and the ol Missy Dozer... you're two of a kind... once you get going you sing sweet songs of success! PS - I'm loving the content you're giving us - very long may it last - to be honest - you're an inspiration!!
Love it, keep it coming Good to know I ain't the only one that has to work on everything two hours to get it running so I can work. But I wouldn't have it any other way.
Your farm and projects remind me a lot of where I grew up in Wisconsin. You work hard and remind me of my dad. Thank you for keeping up on youtube, really enjoyed the show also - take care of yourself.
I have learned so much from Ivan and Otto over the years. I feel like this show has helped me repair so many things. I havent missed an episode from ALF. ❤ the Kilchers
You are the best! When we watch you fix the unfixable, it reminds us of my Father. He ran an auto repair shop and could remove an engine by himself (so no one else got hurt). The trunk of his was always full of cans of oil, various belts and a huge collection of assorted tools to fix a problem where it was. Keep "trucking," OK in honor of my Dad, AJ. 😂
It is so neat that the Kiltcher family have a homestead near Homer Alaska. I like their principals and ethics on working hard. I grew up on a working family ranch in Texas and I understand the meaning of working hard.
I love watching you, Otto! You have more knowledge in your little finger, than most people today, will ever have, in their lifetime. Keep up the fun times!
Unfortunately, I lived alone for a long time. I’m a female. I do enjoy watching what you do. I like how you explain it. I like your sense of humor while horses are my love , then the land itself I like what you have been producing so please keep it up and thank you so much Keith stay safe
I enjoy your RUclips videos keep doing what you're doing everyday life I just enjoy watching them I have watched you guys for years and I never get sick of it love your homestead love every one of you Kilcher's God Bless you all love from Sandy living in Wisconsin
I love this content and would love to see more similar content. In fact I only wish it had been longer and you showed more footage of the process. Equipment, boats, anything with an engine, fabrication, mechanics, construction, hunting, animals that’s all things that I enjoy and why I loved the show. In fact the pirate ship house was one of my favorite episodes. That’s right up my alley what a home! You’re a wealth of knowledge and I didn’t once question what you were doing rigging up that pump, I’d of done it the same way, except I’d of probably had to rob wire of something cause I forgot to put my jumper cables back in my truck when I used them last. 😂 couldn’t think of a better way to live, you’re in my version of paradise. Hope to see lots more!
I enjoy watching how you can make things work that haven't woked in a long time. You have a real nack for that. Thank you for the video, i enjoy watching your videos.
I enjoy seeing your ventures, you remind me so much of my late wife's step father, he was a farmer who homesteded 360 acres near Eureka NV. You two were made from the same mold. Much respect and appreciate you stirring up some great memories. I see you around every nowadays then we're almost neighbors..lol I'm out on Northfork rd just outside of Homer
Oh my, I lived in Alaska for 30 years, and that’s about exactly how every project would go. Even the derelict boats, and all the junk kinda made me homesick. Good video. Thanks!
I like your contact, I've always liked to see how you fix things and how you figure out to repair or come up with ideas on how to in your own way, just keep your vids coming this way. Larry
I am deeply impressed by your determination and resilience in facing the challenges of whether it will start, dealing with stolen fuel, and navigating the tides on Alaska's frontier with Otto. Your ability to tackle these obstacles with such tenacity and resourcefulness is truly admirable. Your journey showcases both your bravery and problem-solving skills. And I am Floating Village Life
That's some good stuff right there Otto! Rough and tough out in the field, then faced with an issue, or three, lol. You have to be a jack of all trades when it's just you and dealing with a task that's packed with a minefield of problems. I worked out in the field as a commercial truck mechanic. They call them diesel technicians these days. I was alone everyday dealing with daily surprises and figuring out solutions. I'm certain there are many, many more things worse that you've dealt with than I, but its a familiar sight for me to see you in theses videos doing these things.
Otto, I have always enjoyed watching you and your family living in Alaska. I'm sure that it's not an easy life and it's something that I would enjoy doing, if not for my health. Please keep up with the adventures of the Kilcher family, whether it is fishing, hunting, repairs on the machinery, or anything else. Many Blessings to you and your family.
Hey Otto, I'm a southern California guy the same age as you. Have always been a fan of the Kilcher's . Your wealth of knowledge about stuff and having a happy life is what we all should strive for. Keep them coming . My father was also Swiss.
Your videos make me miss living in Homer, I actually used to live not too far from the homestead, down Walters on Frontier lane. I hauled some slab wood for Stellavera before she had the fire😢. She was going to use the wood for building treehouses for some kind of kids camp.
LOVE IT !!! Been Working on Farm equipment since the 1960's . More young folks need to learn these hands on skills. Keep this type of video coming ! Worked around Anchorage for several years ; sure miss the Woods and Waters.
Keep doing what you’re doing! I hope you have many many more years of happiness, homesteading, and sharing your family and the success of your raising a family in a harsh environment! You’ve proven that it’s Possible! I hope the rest of America, and maybe even the world can take note and we can do better!!
You are full of knowledge Otto and the best kind first hand experience! Yes we want to see everything you think is worth filming! Much love to you and your awesome kilcher family you guys are awesome to watch!
My dear papa would have loved watching you, Mr. Kitchen. He was a diesel truck mechanic and could fix any issues that had to do with engines. He was born in 1909, basically self-taught. Thank you for bringing us along (your viewing fans)
Otto probally not the only one that enjoys watching you do what you do, you remind me of the cullmination of knowlege, and skills, tried and true. Toughness and tenderness when lifes mean and sad. And so on, and thank you!
We want more of our favorite Alaskan families out there on the homestead. Stay healthy Otto.
I love how the old timers have all the jingles for days! Otto sir not calling you old! You’re a classic!
Classic i like that
I enjoyed how you methodically fixed the electric pump and explained your thought process. Young people need to see more of this. Thanks for posting.
Exactly.. I was thinkin how I would have quit and called someone after so many attempts. We live in a world full of shortcuts that are actually encouraged. So from time to time I forget that there was a time when u just had to figure it out .
