I’m very glad that Honor is alive and the way everything turned out but I would buy and read the carp out of a “what if” anthology where authors submit short stories where a road not taken gets explored...

In an earlier video this year, he mentions a new saganami/crown book (forget which), but basically continuation of main story arc. Also mentioned a new Manticore ascendant book and also a new Stephanie book. So in next year or so, should have 3 new Honorverse books!

I see no reason that Raoul could still not serve under Theisman on one of the ships that fought on the Haven side in the Battle of Manticore. It would still be awkward to be under one of the people that tried to blow away the fleet of your home world. With his treecat to keep him straight. Not as awkward as if Honor had died in the Battle of Manticore. But still awkward enough that I am sure it will be a funny story.
And if it was Eric Flint that kept Honor alive to be able to retire, then it was fortunate he was able to collaborate on this series. I actually like his work in this universe just as much in the 1632 series.
It is so cool to hear Mr. Weber speak of all theses things he brought to such vivid life in the books.
By the way, I am a 70 year old retired electronics engineer and have been with the Honorverse series right from the start. I have a huge collection of ebooks I will never get around to reading all of them in my lifetime. But I still buy everything Weber and Flint as well as a few others put out. The Baen web site is so good for easily buying these. I only wish Harry Turtledove was on it as well. I have still not figured out how to reliably buy his books as ebooks.

I can just see Weber writing that Raoul/Tourville short story becoming another grav lance fiasco, but I'd buy that book in an instant :)

So there's a slight "detour" in Honor's retirement plan... is this hinting at a possible confrontation with the Alignment?

If I had to guess, he's going to keep the alignment for the kids and have honor go reason with the Andermani or deal with some kind of shenanigans in the former League.

Thank you, Eric. We love Honor. Now.... the Alignment NEEDS to get HAMMERED!!! Now THAT is something that I can't wait for. And I'm sure that they're going to keep going along in their plans, have lots of successes, but in the end? Too bad, how sad! But, I think that the final outcome will hopefully end with them as being better off for (eventually) being the losers. 0_0 👍

@Lance Salter Yeah, I think that they will have things go their way for awhile, but ultimately they're going down! It might be interesting to see if they can be brought over into a newer friendlier organization, I'm mean, sure they're bad guys, but there might be some redeeming qualities somewhere there. Although I most certainly wouldn't count on it. And I'd be quite happy if they just go down as a BAD idea. 0_0 👍

Honestly, I think the Alignment drank a little too much of their own Kool-Aid over the centuries. They didn't realize that opposition to genetic engineering had been fading over time. Instead of developing their sneak-ships, they should have invested in a good PR firm on Beowulf...
