Then he reffered "if you dont even know what beta flight is why did you get into this hobby" Well was he right i guess, sold my drones a couple of months after that. I really do miss flying Fpv and i will probably get into it again, but for now im just getting my DJI mini 2 so i can atleast get in the air again!

    To the multiple peeps asking the same question about duration of flight time, and not getting an answer, it's bcoz there's no "set time" and you have to do some calculations. Google it, come on. lol. But basically it depends on flying style, then the formula to calculate your FPV drone flight time, you have to know three factors: Battery Capacity (in this bulld that's a 1550mAh 14.8V Lipo) , Battery Discharge and Average Amp Draw (the components total power draw which can fluctuate and be tricky to come up with ONE number that applies to all.) For these specific parts, and for practice if you're serious about building this, you should look up each parts power requirements and total draw when all parts are firing at max output, and reach a best-case-scenario. Dude has no time to answer the same question over and over, making these bomb ass videos that clearly take time and effort WHILE actually doing the builds, but the way he rocked it it's probably 6 minutes max. Remember this is FPV and for racing or performce, not the regular king of reco or photo drone flying, so getting even 6 mins out of this is REALLY awesome. Should not make a difference if you have 2 or 3 battery packs or MAAAKE your own. Google awaits. Hope this helps.

    T-motor electronics are shlit, the diatone H743 board with BMI 270 gyro and their 65amp ESC is a sick combo for 7" but if doing 5" you could go with a smaller ESC like their 55amp board which is just as good. they make good stuff. but the BMI270 gyro is amazing. alwasy hated the MPU 6000 stuff. nice to see the BMI 270 being used more.

      good to know, this was my first t-motor electronics piece and was disappointed. I'm hoping it's just a bug with the BMI270 and can get fixed in an update since it seems like 4.3 is what caused the twitch. The board came with 4.2.11 and flew fine, no gyro twitch. as soon as I flashed 4.3 or 4.3.1 the gyro got all screwy. Flash back to 4.2.11 and the gyro isn't even recognized lol.

    I am complete beginner and just purchased a drone kit from Ali Exp as I was trying to avoid the stress of choosing parts for my first build. The kit appears to have reasonable quality name parts however it comes with 1800KV motor. I note that other designs use 2400KV motors. I understand the KV is directly related to speed although torque is also a consideration. My question if 1800KV underpowered for a typical drone. I am happy to upgrade the motors if that is deemed to be necessary. I dont plan on any payloads but will provide additional sensors including GNSS and flow and lidar sensor. My plan is get some experience in building a drone, then I plan to move to fully autonomous AI drone build as a new build which is my main interest. PS. I do have a engineering background, but totally new to drones. So please dont be too hard on me.

    What temperature is your soldering iron set at? Ru just using 60/40 soldering wire? Can this except a 3s? Also I was thinking about doing the crossfire mod with my qx7 would this elsr work with that because some elsr are different? Oh I have a rxsr laying around would that be okay just to get up in the air? Thanks for the budget build video! My baby ape died after the second flight which is why I have 3s & rxsr laying around. Hopefully I can get my money back from Banggood which has been a nightmare so far. Thanks again

    • @TRONCATFPV
      @TRONCATFPV  2 года назад +1

      I use .6mm 60/40 solder for almost everything. I keep my soldering Iron pretty hot at 420°C and try to be as quick as I can with heating up the components. I'm not sure how well it would fly on 3s, I think it would fly but it may struggle. I feel like 2400kv may be a little low on 3S. You could always give it a shot but you will probably end up buying a couple 4s batteries.
      If you did the crossfire mod on an ACCST QX7 you would be able to use ELRS. If your QX7 is the newer ACCESS model you won't need to do the crossfire mod. The r-xsr would be a solid little receiver to use on this build. When soldering that to the FC just use the SBUS pad and you're good!
      Hope this helps 🙌

    @TRONCAT Did you use the flat antenna for BetaFPV ELRS Lite 2.4GHz ? I see a comment to not use the flat, but in your screencap and the unit on the video both indicate to me a flat antenna V1.1. Sorry if stupid question, up till now I just buy everything from DJI (Tello, Mini2 and Air 2). This will be my first attempt at a FPV and building my own. What strap size do I want for the frame with V4 frame (V3 sold out right now)?
    Just a heads up for anyone considering and brand new... If you take all the parts and include the goggles w/ controller, you're right around $400. So yes, it's a $200 build but you'll need to double it to buy new goggles and controller with it.

    • @TRONCATFPV
      @TRONCATFPV  2 года назад +1

      Yes this drone has the flat antenna receiver from betafpv. its the V1.1 with the red antenna. I've heard of issues with the original version but didnt have any failsafes or problems with this one. Honestly got more range than I thought I would have lol. Could just come down to how I have it mounted.
      Battery strap size will depend on what sized battery you use. For my 1550mah 4s I had a 220mm strap.
