The comments on Grissom Academy on Insanity are something I can sympathize with on all sides. 5:11 Recently replayed the trilogy on Insanity for the first time. No shot I was a sentinel with a sniper rifle and this fight was over in a second. As soon as I gained control of shep I used Assasination on him and blew him to smithereens. Easiest clear of that fight I have ever done.
Don't forget every single one of the little side missions because I think they need to be talked about as well. And shame on how none of the three presidents pointed out that priority Earth was not only a completely shoehorned mission to fulfill the stupid advertising about taking back Earth, not to mention the fact that it was a rushed production made in the last 2 weeks. The original final mission was completely scrapped and the entire thing redone from the ground up in a 14-day scramble which is why priority Earth is extremely generic from start to finish.
Personally I like the Earth segment. It's not very exciting, despite the at times challenging combat, but I think that's what makes it unique. It is the final battle, the final push, yes, but it is also very somber, the atmosphere feels gloomy. Not to mention the incredibly depressing feeling of talking to your companions for what you know might be the last time. Shepards bombastic journey ends, ironically, not with a bang but a whimper.
@@Ale-dd3ek I have no idea. All I know is that something felt wrong and extremely generic about the Priority Earth, and then I found out many years later that the entire priority Earth was built from the ground up in the last two weeks. Very squeezed for time. That's why it was nothing special about it as people were hoping. Even I was supremely disappointed in it.
@@profprops6520 That's just the problem with priority Earth. It isn't unique at all, while everybody including myself was expecting it to be unique. The trailers showed many hammerheads and makos in combat during Priority Earth, and there was the implication that we were going to see our unique assets fighting in battle. But you can't see any of that outside of mods. So unpaid mod makers are doing the job of the paid developers of BioWare.
2:42:31 Damn I wish this mission was altered so that Morinth would be here instead of deleting the mission if you kill Samara. Imagine Morinth urging her sister to either escape and live in hedonism. With a Paragon interrupt to kill Morinth with the Renagade still applicable to kill the sister.
I need to add an addendum… I claimed “Deleting the mission if you kill Samara.” What I should have said was “a significantly less emotionally impactful mission.” As Morinth does appear as a named Banshee, not nearly as interesting as what I suggested should be done.
Defending the Virmire survivor’s almost insane distrust in 2 convinced me to keep listening. It was not a take I’ve heard before. (In a good way) Also even if I dislike Ashley, not being able to tell her “bro I don’t like Cerberus Either” was very bad. Plus… the fact they didn’t get collected is indeed very strange and it’s never brought up.
I mean there were other frozen colonists you come across that the collectors didn't abduct yet, still odd bc she was next to that Lilith npc that you see die in the collector base. Another thing nobody talks about is how Jack hits and calls you out for "trusting Cerberus" in grissom academy even if you do everything to undermine cerberus and openly say you don't trust them at every chance in ME2
I really enjoyed this video since each President offered a different opinion on each mission, this gave me new insight and understanding to each mission. This tier list also changed my opinion on certain missions.
For the last 12, maybe 13 years, my ringtone has been Monster by Skillet because of the intro griff. After hearing that roast i need to change my ringtone
Don’t forget with Therum that they don’t actually tell you what planet she’s on outside of the cluster she’s in. It’s supposed to be the introduction of exploring planets and seeing what you can do on their surface. You can start Missing Marines and the Asari sister quests by just finding the locations within this system. Obama is so locked in on his knowledge of the game he wouldn’t think of it this way, since he knows everything about the game
Listening to this again while unpacking into my new apartment was so therapeutic. I felt all the stress of the move go away as I felt I was listening to my bros discuss one of my favorite games. One of my favorite videos on the Channel. Absolute Gold.
If you spare Aresh in ME2, you find out in a message in ME3 that he sacrifices himself to save a shuttle full of children being evacuated from Elysium, taking out several reaper troops in the process.
Re: Tali's mission in ME2, I always go through the right side, it's pretty easy to not get "cooked". Leviathan is S tier, too much great lore, creepy af missions, the freedom to go and do other missions during it and not so long as to be bothersome.
@@glorpolius Eh. Doesn't seem particularly silly to me. Makes sense that the Reapers would have some creator, and not having it be some hugely powerful species would be a bit of a let down. Though, the part SPECIFICALLY about how the Reapers came to be is very silly. What the Leviathans do there isn't arrogance, it is straight up stupid.
For added flavor during tuchanka, i didnt tell wrex about the salarians and later, when mordin found out, i held up mordim before going up the elevator, but didnt shoot him. I played shepard like he was being pulled apart by indecision, not knowing the right move, but in the end could not bring himself to pull the trigger on an ally and friend. The game will allow you not to shoot mordin despite the LONGEST renegae interrupt sequence, but if you do nothing, shepard throws the gun away and mordin releases the genophage regardless. The perfect amount of conflict and tension for this mission
I feel like only having the Quarians report in at the end is a good choice. They have been fighting synthetics the longest, those being the Geth, and are now taking it up against the largest synthetic threat, that being the Reapers.
While objectively this tier list is accurate for the reasons stated there in and i agree with it. Ultimately It's a video game meant to enthrall and make the player have fun. So its content is subjective sometimes. For instance my father who is a scientist, played this entire trilogy all the way 3 times through. Hes 70, retired. To him, Mordin and everything he was involved in was the highlight of everything. It resonated with him the most. mass effect does an amazing job of presenting all walks of life, vocations and grounding them to the floor in dark, gritty realism. For clarification i didn't see my father for a whole month. He legit cried at parts of the story, like we all did. He came constantly after his first run to ask for help in story decisions. My hope is we get something as good from bioware again but i doubt it all the people that made bioware what it was have dispersed to the galactic wind. The talent is gone.
Wait I just caught this after listening to this countless times, at the end, Donald directly quotes legion from the paragon end of the Quarian Geth conflict: "I must go to them"
This was a journey to go through and I'm impressed by your knowledge of Mass Effect, nice job ❤️! I'd love to see a Dragon Age Tier list someday if you're up to the challenge!
I fully watched this at least 4 times already. I'd love a follow-up with all side missions its just so damn entertaining listening to the president squad and the dynamic they have with each other
Grissom Academy is way harder than it needs to be on insanity. The terrible cover setup, not to mention the mech and ground soldiers coming at you. Very tough, took too many tries. The Cerberus shield operatives are the worst.
It really is down to the class you are playing and weapon choices. I did it in Insanity 2 days ago using a squishy adept build. Cleared it on second attempt with 0 use of medigel. using the correct Mods on the right guns can shoot right through shields.
@@CameraObscure true. I had a terrible weapon setup and I was playing vanguard so it was limited to an extent. The level design is just poor in that area imo. There isn’t enough cover and it’s way too easy to get flanked but, it’s supposed to be hard on insanity so I’m not actually complaining.
@@TheHamslayer903 Well, remember, you have the option to change weapons for each mission. If replaying, you know what enemies you are going to face. You don't have to Vanguard charge all the time, just choose where and when wisely. BTW I like the challenge of that Level on Insanity and think it's more about tactical play than just cover shooting.

TRUTH!!! We didn't know how good we had it :(
Starfield is the main reason I decided to do a third ME run
@@CryptidFlamethought you were referring to starfield and i was about to jump down your throat

Recently replayed the trilogy on Insanity for the first time.
No shot I was a sentinel with a sniper rifle and this fight was over in a second.
As soon as I gained control of shep I used Assasination on him and blew him to smithereens. Easiest clear of that fight I have ever done.

"After you clap Kei Leng's cheeks, pause."
Hours of content and only one mistake (the line drop ~6mins is this vid only).
That's impressive!
What was supposed to be the final Mission?
Personally I like the Earth segment. It's not very exciting, despite the at times challenging combat, but I think that's what makes it unique. It is the final battle, the final push, yes, but it is also very somber, the atmosphere feels gloomy. Not to mention the incredibly depressing feeling of talking to your companions for what you know might be the last time. Shepards bombastic journey ends, ironically, not with a bang but a whimper.
Needed some armored Elcor. Walking artillery
Absolute masterpiece!
Ive watched this like 15 times i love your videos so much keep up the good work dude
2:11:04 YOU WOULD’T KNOW A REAPER TRICK IF IT BIT YOU IN THE ASS, ORANGE COLORED ORGANIC.
gotta be my favorite line.
gotta love the "amen" for jenkins xD
The best videos I've seen in a while, Thanks.
You did an excellent job with the presentation of this. Putting the music of each mission in the background as it's discussed was a nice touch.
Fell asleep twice watching this like it's the best movie of the year haha - this is amazing, seriously. Also BASED trump, destroy IS the best ending
2:42:31
Damn I wish this mission was altered so that Morinth would be here instead of deleting the mission if you kill Samara.
Imagine Morinth urging her sister to either escape and live in hedonism.
With a Paragon interrupt to kill Morinth with the Renagade still applicable to kill the sister.
I need to add an addendum…
I claimed “Deleting the mission if you kill Samara.”
What I should have said was “a significantly less emotionally impactful mission.”
As Morinth does appear as a named Banshee, not nearly as interesting as what I suggested should be done.
Loved the Boondocks reference when talking about the last Kai “Bitch” Leng fight 😂
Defending the Virmire survivor’s almost insane distrust in 2 convinced me to keep listening. It was not a take I’ve heard before. (In a good way)
Also even if I dislike Ashley, not being able to tell her “bro I don’t like Cerberus Either” was very bad. Plus… the fact they didn’t get collected is indeed very strange and it’s never brought up.
I mean there were other frozen colonists you come across that the collectors didn't abduct yet, still odd bc she was next to that Lilith npc that you see die in the collector base.
Another thing nobody talks about is how Jack hits and calls you out for "trusting Cerberus" in grissom academy even if you do everything to undermine cerberus and openly say you don't trust them at every chance in ME2
the very dark moral issues Jacob's loyalty mission contains is the only thing Jacob brings to the table in the entire series.
Even then its borrowing liberally from Apocalypse Now. Also the writing of the main cast was weird for the whole mission.
2:50:30
"I worry for you if you're an adept"
Excuse you, I'm not trapped in there with them, they're trapped in there with ME
I listen to this 5 days a week at work almost daily and it never stops being entertaining.
Maybe do a tier list of all the powers???
I really enjoyed this video since each President offered a different opinion on each mission, this gave me new insight and understanding to each mission. This tier list also changed my opinion on certain missions.
Idk why but these videos are pure perfection.
Unpacking my new apartment to presidents ranking mass effect mission life is good
Back for my 50th rewatch because this is just so great for something to play in the background while playing a game.
To be honest, I think we're all here for this: 3:32:01 The Roast of Kai Leng
For the last 12, maybe 13 years, my ringtone has been Monster by Skillet because of the intro griff. After hearing that roast i need to change my ringtone
Aresh from Jack's loyalty mission gives his life to save some people in ME 3 if Jack doesn't kill him.
I have gotta say i have rewatch this video more times then ud like to admit
Same here
Ouuuh yes lets gooo imma watch it all after work tonight ! Thank you
Listening to this again while unpacking into my new apartment was so therapeutic. I felt all the stress of the move go away as I felt I was listening to my bros discuss one of my favorite games. One of my favorite videos on the Channel. Absolute Gold.
"I know vanguard players like to Unga Bunga their way through the game..."
Listen, I feel attacked
Bernie Redemption Arc incoming?
2:03:11
>donald”this is the most coherent stretch of words ive heard from you joe, that adrenochrome is hitting” 😭
The concept of Leviathan in general is silly though.
Compared to most "concepts" I've seen over the the past couple of decades in video games, it doesn't look that silly.@@glorpolius
Im watching this probably for the 30th time or something. Just because its damn good.
same clicked on this in December thinking it'd be mid but it's made me play the trilogy on insanity twice since then, on my third sentinel run rn
I watched this at least 5 or 6 times now from start to finish. This is simply amazingly well done.
I watch this video a lot. Thank you for the awesome content.
Virmire is the best mission of mass effect. I got chills everytime with wrex, sovereign, chosen betwen kaidan or ash,
3:32:54 Goddamnit that was a good joke.
I feel like only having the Quarians report in at the end is a good choice. They have been fighting synthetics the longest, those being the Geth, and are now taking it up against the largest synthetic threat, that being the Reapers.
2:23:06 That line is funnier in retrospect considering Trump put the fries in the bag recently
"samommy" gets me every time
The boys clowning on Kai Leng priceless
All my homies clown on Kai Lame
This was better than expected, well done!
I keel watching the full version at work to pass the time. This is a masterpiece and I hope you do more tier lists from different games even.
Wait I just caught this after listening to this countless times, at the end, Donald directly quotes legion from the paragon end of the Quarian Geth conflict: "I must go to them"
Right from the start, that unison “Amen!” sent me! I can tell this is good stuff already!
This was a journey to go through and I'm impressed by your knowledge of Mass Effect, nice job ❤️!
I'd love to see a Dragon Age Tier list someday if you're up to the challenge!
Binging this channel after finishing the trilogy for the first time last week, thank you algorithm gods
I love these vids thanks for making them ❤
Downright scholarly takes here.
9:14 BEHOLD THE POWERS OF AN ASARI MATRIARCH! *OPENS DOORS*
This video is Chef's Kiss. I can listen to this all day.
This was a well done video. I listened to the whole thing while I was on the road. Made the time go by much faster!!
I fully watched this at least 4 times already. I'd love a follow-up with all side missions its just so damn entertaining listening to the president squad and the dynamic they have with each other
I'm doing my first ever insanity run and this video provided me all the knowledge I need to get this achievement
ME3’s prologue is the greatest prologue I’ve ever seen. To see what the Reapers did to Earth…it just…it’s our home and they…damn…
Donald: "you can say goodbye to romancing Tali"
me: "oh no, anyway...."
You can actually escape from the banshees if your fast enough if they do that stomach piercing animation use the squad wheel and make your squad mates use a stun ability on the banshee i learned this when one grabbed me and I used garrus’s concussive shot on it. 2:40:12
