Double sided sticky tape + junior add saw blades in the bottom of your drawer, job done.

Wont the sheet make the drawer base magnetic thereby making any ferrous metal, including the vaseline tin, stick to the drawer bottom?

Hi Jon. I have just emailed you a Photo of my system which I set up in Feb this year. All I did got some 1mm Stainless Steel Plate cut to the right size and using double sided tape stuck them to the tray, Job done.Please share the Photo if you want .

Would a strip of magnetic tape not work the same? This way your not destroying the hooklegnth sticks.
The tape will be self adhesive too.

You would need to make sure polarity of the tape is correct, and the sticks won't locate so accurately on tape, but you can buy small strong magnets cheap online😊👍
