Well done Jon, some people are not in the mind to fix things, they would take it back to the shop, some are not practical like me and you to fix are own stuff, Thank you
The interlocking winder trays are ok but like you I found them a bit too snug for my shallow trays which are brand new absolute ones, I wish Preston did normal winder trays instead like the matrix ones
These new winder trays are well designed, but in my opinion too expensive. I use Rive 26 cm green and pink winders with my Inception station and I can fit more winders in a drawer then with these new winder trays. The only advantage is that you can easily take these trays out and fit other winder trays in or make different combinations. I used some draft strip (the stuff that people use on windows and doors to keep the wind/cold out side) with double sided tape and made that in the drawer to lock the winders in place. I also used it with my old space station and it worked perfect.
That sounds like a great idea, I have gone for the easy options, as such of my box being a mess and I am trying to force myself to simplify my float choices😊👍
The plastic trays a alot better they dont bend that why i went for the matrix box buddy the pole winders u on about the raised pin is for what u said u use it for the other pin is for the rubber elastic alot people use to holder the rigs on to the winders...great vid
Tbh I've become a bit jaded with preston. So I started to design everything I need myself to fit properly. All my winder inserts a 3D printed hold the winders just fine. Oh an they cost way less.
Certianly an option for those that have the time skill and patience to 3D print. I might be experimenting with a few things to 3D print, I personally think it's good for bespoke items😊👍
@@AverageAngler If you want to design your own seat box accessories, I recommend to invest some time to figure out a proper clamping solution that you can copy again and again. I for myself have designed a 3D printable version of the Preston clamping system so I can start with a known good clamp every time. And It helps on the bank. Thinking about it, maybe I should start making videos about it.
They're absolute shite, weigh loads. Ive got a mix of trays and shallow drawers. You can't beat the older preston winder cases and just pick up the ones you want and can chuck 2 in a tray as needed
I have the Absolute 36 and the pole winder trays fit perfect in both the trays i put them in.
Sure, it will fit nice for most people

Thanks for watching James, keep up the matchs
Fair play John, nice job 👍
Thanks George

3D printed ones, Tackle Tidy or Boxtrays do decent ones
Not unique problem to me then?

I learned today the difference between the Inception and Absolute trays. I always wondered why one was more expensive (I buy the Inception stuff)
Yes mate, metal is not always better

Whats the length width & depth of those Winder trays not the box trays. Wondering if they fit into the top of my Westlake .
Bot sure, if I remember I will measure it

That's brilliant, you should share it on thingyverse
Any chance of sharing the files?

If I was concerned about weight I wouldn't have an absolute box😂🤣😂, they aren't the lightest😊👍.
It would have been easier to drill the rivets out
Yes could of got away with drilling mouth just 1 of the middle ones?? Didn't think of that.
