  • These Greek cheese pies should come with a warning…they are extremely delicious and therefore addictive!
I am sharing with you my Mama’s recipe - we make them together very often as the whole family love them.
Simple to make and you can be creative with the filling by adding finely chopped spinach, finely chopped cooked meats etc
I am sure you will love them!
    Sofia
    Ingredients
For the pastry: 500gr self-raising flour, 220g Greek style yogurt, 250g margarine, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 3 tablespoons olive oil.
For the filling: 200g feta, 200g of cheddar (grated), 1 egg, 1 teaspoon black pepper.
Sesame seeds for sprinkling - optional
    Milk for brushing

This is my favourite Greek appetizers good for snuck. My mother made many and keep some in the freezer. I was born in Chania Crete.
I love spanakopita with phylo ... greetings from Montréal 🇨🇦

I made these for my class and they were a huge hit! Making them again this morning. They remind me of ones I had at bakeries when I was in Cyprus. Absolutely delicious. Thank you for sharing your recipe

Since when to Greeks use unhealthy margarine?

Yes, In the Greek cuisine we use very little margarine but for some recipes we do use it. You can replace margarine for butter or other substitutes. Thank you
