Good question! Essentially unmalted barley is barley in its raw form. Malted barley is when barley is soaked in water, allowed to germinate, and then dried. This helps break down the starches in barley into fermentable sugars, which is important for distillation. Hope that helps! 🤓
@@BarrelHuntersATX absolutely, ever since I got to have a Redbreast core range flight in Dublin in 2009 during a business trip. At that time I was a Bushmills fan, still am, but Bushmills is fine, solid Irish drams for the 10 and 16 year Olds, but Redbreast is my fave and Green Spot and Yellow Spot close second and third. I have great memories of drinking Redbreast 12 in the Celtic whiskey shop in city centre Dublin in 2009 and 2010
Love it. My first international trip was to Ireland in 2005. Being in college at the time, all I knew was Guinness and Harp. Plus it was St Paddy’s week. Knowing what i know now, i’d dive deep into Irish whiskeys. Guess another trip is in store!
Which one of these do you like more? Any other Irish whiskeys we should be trying?
My favorite is Red Breast!
Glad to hear it! Any one in particular?
What is the difference between malted and unmalted whisky?🥃

Cant argue with your scores

Green Spot was disappointing. Try the Dingle.
