Even when he apologies, there's one person standing up for him and that'd be faith Hill. I believe Tim McGraw was standing up for him to. He was a civil war soldier general Meade in the movie Gettysburg, Virgil Earp in the movie tombstone, Wild Bill Hickok in the Buffalo gals series, he was in a western about a cattleman alias Conagher, Tom Selleck played with him as a Yankee in the civil war while he played a rebel, they also played as honorable opportunists in the western series the sackets, Sam Elliott played in ghost rider with Nicholas cage as an old lawman turned undertaker, 1883, he plays plenty good vintage style movies. What I hate at the same rate as people trying to accuse Morgan Wallen as a racist is Sam Elliott being asked if he liked the power of the dog movie and was told to take it back. Sam Elliott is an honorable man in a world that likes to use loopholes.

By all accounts in the civil war, the James and youngers we're riding with Captain Anderson and Quantrill. Some witnesses said that they were vicious killers. Serious people. They probably were rarely funny. They probably liked reading the newspapers, but they were on a vendetta against Pinkerton's and all the Yankees that robbed him of a little brother, torture of his mother and father. They were even after the men who killed there leaders in the confederacy. I don't think that's something that can't and shouldn't be mocked. I believe Sam Elliott remained serious in all westerns and civil war films.

Love the guy and 1883 is a jewell. IMHO mini series are the best format. Most of the multi-season tv shows decline in quality sooner or later. One of the reasons is that the ending is not defined and the production just follows profitability. There are exceptions.

Well Wyatt Earp, tombstone and 1883 were pretty good but Yellowstone took it a little too far and a little too dramatic which I think why Kevin Costner basically said uh-uh I ain't into this anymore.
