    #ParamountPlus #1883
1883, a Yellowstone origin story, follows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of untamed America. From Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan, co-creator of Yellowstone, 1883 is a stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land - Montana.

Everything about this final episode was heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. The heartbreak for Margaret not being able to be with Elsa when she died. The heartbreak for James holding his daughter as she died. Elsa watching the bird as she was dying was a mirror of the scene from the first episode of Yellowstone when John sat down at the tree with Lee's body, and there was a bird right in front of him pecking the ground for worms. Sam and Elsa riding together in the afterlife was beautiful. All the tragedy these characters endured, I think the only ones who found happiness were Thomas, Noemi, and her boys. Even with just one leg, Josef was clearly determined to honor Risa by carrying on and building the home they were supposed to build together. And Shea, we all knew how he would end up, but it was still sad to watch. All in all, 1883 was a fantastic story. Isabel May's narration was the icing on the cake. Well done by everyone involved.

The history of our great country is violent, ugly, painful and at the same time profoundly beautiful. Sheridan is so gifted in story telling. Not just the pretty parts of history but the *truth* which is not easy to see but is absolutely necessary. The truth must be told. All those people, from the immigrants to the indigenous, have a story and are part of the foundation of America and how it came to be. And how it will move forward in the future. I truly hope that Taylor continues to make these series. It isn't just entertaining. It's educating and pulls you in to where you feel it.

I agree with many comments here, Sheridan shared a real to life movie that many of us do not realize the horror of exploring the west back then, and that’s what’s made this country is people of all color, all nationalities, all ages leaving behind their homelands to seek a better life for themselves and their families. Knowing history is painful, it shows true struggles, loss of life, picking up the pieces and continuing on, I’ve never been so touched and mesmerized by watching this movie, it was beautiful and heart wrenching, but it needs to be told. Because many people have not followed history in detail as this movie portrayed, due to not wanting too watch the horrors that this land we live on has very dangerous consequences and as we have watched this movie, shows me just how damn brave these people were, I mean all of them the immigrants, the cowboys, cowgirls, families and the Native American Indians how they struggled but survived through it, beautiful story and beautiful people they all were. I hope we all including myself always remember to realize to step outside of our comfort zones and explore this great country we live in, before it’s too late! Thank you🙏❤️💚🇺🇸

Yellowstone has been canceled. There won’t be a season 6. I know with writers strike it’s hard for them to continue for season 2 of 1923. But I know they are trying.

Nah her dying was the only thing that made the show worth watching. She was a really annoying Mary Sue character. She ruined the entire show for me. Glad they actually killed her cause that would have been stupidity un realistic. She is an insanely woke character. Lame as hell

I absolutely hated this show and think yellowestone was 1000x better. Elsa was a huge Mary Sue character and the only thing that made this show worth watching is that she does in the end. She was insanely annoying the whole time. She ruined almost every intense scene there was throughout the show. Over all really boring and I'd give it a 3/10
