I remember this game. Notice how the blazers did not double team olaguwon. Rick adelmen decided not to double team Hakeem because in game 1 he did double team him but the rockets scored a barrage of 3 pointers . double teaming Hakeem left the 3 point men wide open. Rockets lead the league in 3 pointers that season. This was the big dilema all teams faced when playing the rockets.

Perfect offense built around Dream and GREAT role players. Jet Smith, Mad Max, Mario Elie, Sam Cassell. Robert Horry was a west coast Scottie Pippen, Otis Thorpe and Herrera doing all the dirty work behind Hakeem. This was a very underrated defense in terms of their physicality. Hakeem was Defensive player of the year too. They grinded out 7 games against the tough as nails Knicks in the finals. With Hakeem unstoppable in the paint and his supporting cast, this 94 team has to be in top 10 championship teams of all time.

For me the first championship team is better w/ Otis around

Tbh I don't think even the Sonics would've been able to stop them from getting out the West. They had a frontcourt that matched up a lot better compared to the team with Drexler.

6:39, he literally did 3 or 4 straight possessions fading to the baseline and made all of them, damn

This was one of 3 first-round series that year where the first 2 games had almost the exact same score. Rockets won 114-104 and 115-104; Bulls beat Cleveland 104-96 and 105-96 and the Knicks beat the Nets 91-80 and 90-81.

If Embiid had a pair of balls, that's how the Sixers shopuld play right now.
An unstobbable guy down low torturing people and feeding the shooters on the perimeter.

8:00 is what really separated him from Shaq who was supposedly "the most dominant C" of that era. Shaq obviously wouldn't have even tried to run down and block that.

2:23 I don't get why some people say he didn't have a 3. He may not have had a high 3 point percentage but they didn't practice that back then. He can clearly shoot a 3. The man could pass, shoot, defend, post up. If hakeem played today he would be right next to LeBron ( maybe not better than lebron but who knows he's the referred to by many as the most skilled big man in history).

He didn't need to shoot the 3. He trusted his teammates on the perimeter.

Not only better than LeBron, but Hakeem literally helped train LeBron, Kobe and many others. Much gentler defenses means Hakeem would feast nightly.

Hakeem is better than Lebron and more dominate on both ends of the floor. He was probably the most versatile player of all time and that why he retired in the top 10 of five statistical stats.

@@kerhin Even MJ admitted the Bulls would've had no answer for him and was glad a matchup with the Rockets didn't happen, especially this version of the team before Drexler.

Dudley was a pretty good defensive player it simply didn't make a difference who the primary defender was without double teaming.

Ridiculous performance. Unplayable on both ends of the floor.
