Was just about to comment the same thing. Smith nailed it with this one. My only minor gripe is they should offer some aluminum back straps to match. Something less aggressive so I don't have to sand them down for IWB carry.

Just don't buy their 10mm Polymer guns as others have said they have problems with them. 1st Gen, I get it. I'm sure they'll straighten out their problems with their 10mm guns, so that's why you'd want to wait before buying one. I bought their new Shield Plus PC ported barrel & it like my Sigs, Kimber's, Rugers, Springfield's, have all had to be sent back to the factory for service.

Would love to see a hammer fired version option. Make it a full size CSX. It looks like they’ve adopted the frame and grip styling anyway. Sweet. I got to handle one, deceptively light. Hammer fired would be around $500 or so less than the new Prodigy.

This gun is on my list for a new 9mm. Looking at it though I have learned to shoot my G20 using the front of the trigger guard. The guard on this pistol is rounded with no texturing a deal breaker for me. It's not cheap either and uses just a painted Cerakote finish.

I want the full size 2.0, but with the newest trigger improvements (semi-flatfaced like the metal framed one in this video). This review has me wondering if I should grab the metal frame over the polymer now! RMR red dot on the slide, flashlight/laser on the frame. The upgrades cost more than the gun but now it's a race gun for the range only. I carry a J-Frame 38Spl. Airweight, with laser grips. I don't even notice I have it on me.

@@zorbaseatery4745 getting a red dot removes the rear sight. The slide serrations, especially the front where they put the Walther logo, could use a little more depth. This is extra noticeable with the original return spring being very stiff. I think it's 17-18 pounds and it's the only feature friends have disliked about it. The M&P also has a better channel for the thumb to avoid an accidental slide lock with my banana hands. Hope that helps🎯🤠👍

I have a S&W PC 4" ported barrel Shield Plus with fiber optic sights. I shot with just the iron sights but noticed I was always low on the target at 25 yds. by about a foot. My Kimber Micro 9, Sig P365 & P365XL, P10C, XDM 4.5" & Springfield 1911 Ronin Elite in 10mm & Glock 20 (10mm) were exactly on target needing no adjustment. So I had to install my unused Holosun 507K on the Shield + (Prefer irons) & now it shoots as good or better than the bigger guns listed above. l really don't know what the point of a metal frame gun is as the 10 oz. lighter Glock 20 has noticeably less recoil than the heavier 1911 steel gun. I believe it's because the Polymer Glock 20 frame flexes to absorb more recoil as well as it is a wider grip spreading out the recoil in your hand. End result is a much more pleasant gun to shoot with the same ammo, regardless of power factor. My Kimber Micro 9 with a metal frame with an after market main spring for a lighter 5 lb. trigger pull weighs 1-3/4 oz. less than the P365 but has more felt recoil, & is far less accurate even though it has a better 1911ish trigger than the Sig P365 (I did polish the striker & sear so the trigger has a very smooth rolling trigger with no hard wall, something I wish Sig would do at the factory). I'd like to see a fair comparison of metal vs. Polymer, preferably with Glocks as they have a patented process with their Polymer to remove more felt recoil than other Polymer guns. This is a very interesting subject!

I like the look, but I don’t really need one.
The trigger isn’t all that good, the pull isn’t much to speak of and the reset is a joke.
I do like the overall feel of M&P pistols, but that’s just not enough for me to get excited.

Get rid of those plates. These plates are JUNK. Shame on you S&W!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About every manufacture's plates are junk. Glock metal plates are crap too. At least on the smith the optic screws into the slide not the plate. The plate is just a locator not a mounting piece. the systems where the plate first screws to the slide then the optic screws to the plate are inferior with 2 points of failure possible plus the very few threads engaged on the double mount systems.

I don't hate the M&P, but I've never been in love with it either... When I heard that I could get an all metal version, I was excited.
...then I saw the craptacular color they chose, and the price. Nah. 900 dollar MSRP is just over the ridiculous side of ridiculous. It's still just an M&P. Smith and Wesson needs to calm down.

As usual way, way overpriced for what it is. Wait about a year and it will be around $500>

@@runningbear6391 i mean not really.....smith was selling m&ps 2.0 for 300-400 before covid. They definitely dont upcharhe on purpose. Give it a year or elss and this will be like $600-700 which is a fine price

@@runningbear6391 well smith and wesson has the best finishes around. The m&p 2.0 finish is so durable so im sure the cerakote they did will last longer than other cheap ones
