We seriously need a good gun youtuber to compare metal frames against polymer frames. I only have the comparison of a Glock 20 10mm pistol vs. my Springfield Ronin Elite 10mm 1911 as a comparison. Hand down, the Glock has significantly less felt recoil than my 1911 10mm. I believe it is because the Glocks wider flexible polymer grip soaks up more recoil than the skinnier metal frame of the 1911. We need more info on this subject. But in my mind I will not be buying a metal frame anything gun when a similar polymer gun is available. So please help us find out.
My first AR was the m&p sport 2 and first handgun was the S&w m&p 1.0, while I got rid of the 1.0, I upgraded to the 2.0 and I love it. Reliable, affordable, what more can you ask
I hope they extend this concept to other models of calibers like 45 or 10mm. I also hope we see the new Shields in the single or double stack in this metal frame.
I was never interested in M&P until a dude at the D&B Supply that subtly knows what I buy had me mess around with one. There is no reason I have never looked at M&P, obviously people like them, I just haven't in the same way I subjectively like Adidas more than Nike stuff. Plus, it's extremely nice to look at. The good looking factor can't be ignored.
When I saw the promo for the M&P 2.0 Metal I thought it looked cool, but I didn't think it offered anything more the polymer frame does. Went to the local gun store to try one out and I was wrong. It feels awesome. Real solid in the hands and they fixed the trigger; I can actually feel the reset! I think they're ugly, but they're clearly pretty damn effective. I do draw the line, however, at 1911s with them. That should be considered a crime against humanity.
@@xb0xisbetter The 2.0 has seen minor changes. The trigger shoe is the big one, followed by the 10* striker. I also believe they have introduced a new sear that has a flatter face.

The new pistol looks great and I do like the color, the only bad thing is that Cerekote doesn't hold up well if you're going to carry one. Since the slide is Stainless I wonder why S&W never offered an M&P in natural Stainless. Thanks for another interesting video as always.
I really wish they would have gone with a hammer fired pistol. And I wish they would offer one with no stupid toy rail on it, which would make it much better for concealed carry. Do they offer a compact model yet ? How much $$$$ ?
Seems S&W is finally catching up to us cultured owners of Walter Q4 SFs. I kid. Let's just appreciate the fact S&W is setting themselves apart from Glock in every meaningful way. The new triggers they're putting as stock are such an improvement over their previous gens, and way better than every Glock trigger. At least as far as handguns, S&W is exactly what you want in a company: listens to their customers' constructive criticism and actually delivers a solution.
Automatic ammo delivery would be interesting...unfortunately that would mean keeping a card on file with them. And Mastercard and Visa are apparently now tracking all those transactions....so...yeah....
That would defeat the point of having a small lite weight daily carry. Heavier than a G19 with less rounds? That'd why I havent upgraded from Shield 2.0 to Shield plus. More rounds is nice but why when I have other carry options?
@@almostontimehero5415 the S&w CSX (alloy framed) is only an ounce heavier than the sig P365 and for the capacity it’s lighter than the shield plus. With modern metallurgy/manufacturing methods and current design methods you can actually get alloy pistols that are as light or lighter than polymer.

The fact that they didn't have the 4 in. compact version ready to go at the same time is a typical jackass s&w move. I won't buy this one. Then when the compact does come out, I'll probably wait out of spite.
Glad they didn't. Don't have to switch them out from ridiculous suppressor height sights. No interest in a red dot on a handgun. Irons are quicker and more natural inside of 7 yards, where most gunfights occur.

The changeable back straps is a huge deal for the M&P line.

Those rounds really thump that steel.

The new pistol looks great and I do like the color, the only bad thing is that Cerekote doesn't hold up well if you're going to carry one. Since the slide is Stainless I wonder why S&W never offered an M&P in natural Stainless. Thanks for another interesting video as always.
Good, I love it when it has patina.
I really wish they would have gone with a hammer fired pistol. And I wish they would offer one with no stupid toy rail on it, which would make it much better for concealed carry. Do they offer a compact model yet ? How much $$$$ ?
Just wish they would put the beaver tail back on.
Right when I saw this consider me sold when it comes in 45 or 10mm. I Just have enough 9mm pistols to spend 900$ on another one.
I am thinking about getting one of these, still up in the air on it.
Now they just need to make this metal frame into a 10mm
I love your videos man!
I love the guy who keeps coming in to give you a treat when you did good
Probably on my bucket list. Along with a sig mach
I currently own 4 S&Ws. Pretty sure this will be my 5th. Great vid as always.
Good review. Good morning unrelated question. Could you do a more in depth review of strike hold clp?

The big question is are they going to sell the lower so I can put it on my already existing m&p 2.0 guns.

Shoots a bottle mid fall, apologizes for “poor shooting” 😂
Seems S&W is finally catching up to us cultured owners of Walter Q4 SFs.
I kid. Let's just appreciate the fact S&W is setting themselves apart from Glock in every meaningful way. The new triggers they're putting as stock are such an improvement over their previous gens, and way better than every Glock trigger. At least as far as handguns, S&W is exactly what you want in a company: listens to their customers' constructive criticism and actually delivers a solution.
S&W has long stood out from Block. It started with M&P series steel sub frame.

I'd love to get the full metal vers but this time, I think I'll wait till a 10mm vers comes out.
Automatic ammo delivery would be interesting...unfortunately that would mean keeping a card on file with them. And Mastercard and Visa are apparently now tracking all those transactions....so...yeah....

Wasnt this video posted yesterday?
I want a all metal M1 Garand
Damn, that is some smoky ammo brother!!!
If they made a shield version in metal, would be all over that!
That would defeat the point of having a small lite weight daily carry. Heavier than a G19 with less rounds? That'd why I havent upgraded from Shield 2.0 to Shield plus. More rounds is nice but why when I have other carry options?
@@almostontimehero5415 The Shield Plus is nice. Carry one daily.

Please help my startup project of a suppressor that makes a fart noise 🙏 thanks
Big brain move.
We need one video about pistol C5 by D.D.G
Backplate is still polymer, can't wait for the m&p 3.1 all wood edition
I watched this last night….so confused.
It seems like it’s made like they use to
woah! you still make gun videos? I thought it was just political stuff now.
I'm sure you get tired of people asking but the meltdown videos are amazing to watch!

Ammo prices are coming back down, finally, so maybe they'll do some more of those soon.
A OD green frame and a black slide would be nice.
I'm ecstatic about S&W making the M&P in metal, it shows they have guts & are still on the cutting edge in the industry. I would kill for a SA/DA hammer fired model too!!
for real, it's crazy no one thought to make guns out of metal before. it's like going from making planes and boats out of wood to metal. like damn, I wish i'd thought of that first, i'd be rich!
@@alphaspartan I hear you bro. I don't have an issue with striker-fired pistols, I just like options.
The gun industry is funny. We went from big guns to little guns to bigger guns. From metal to plastic back to metal.

Hi Eric, nice video as always. How would you compare it to the 2.0 performance center ported? You talked about comparison of your 1st gen and the 2.0 PC during your video of the 2.0 PC so i‘m curious how the new alloy one cpmpares to the 2.0 performance center. Thanks man and keep making such videos.

Thank goodness they finally fixed the triggers. I remember the one on my 40ve. Probably why I haven’t revisited s&w for years..The shield plus now finally is a amazing firearm.
$899 off the smith and Wesson site! Hell yes I’m gonna get me a new gun! 😂
wonder if they are planing to make this in 10mm also 🧐
The fact that they didn't have the 4 in. compact version ready to go at the same time is a typical jackass s&w move. I won't buy this one. Then when the compact does come out, I'll probably wait out of spite.

Went from steel, to polymer, to aluminum and that is awesome. Perfect middle ground. Lighter than steel, stronger than polymer.
I don’t understand why they didn’t include the tall sights like the other M&P 2.0 OR models
Just thinking that myself
Ikr, they're nice enough to include em on CORE models, which this basically is... but don't? Come on S&W
Glad they didn't. Don't have to switch them out from ridiculous suppressor height sights. No interest in a red dot on a handgun. Irons are quicker and more natural inside of 7 yards, where most gunfights occur.
