I have had this firearm for about two months now. I have fired everything from FMJ 115, 124, and 147. Winchester, Sig, Blazer and more. I now have Fiocchi JHP 124 for home defense and will be firing another 200 -300 rounds tonight at the range. I will trial fire the Shield plus against the Sig Sauer p365 xl tonight...Once again thank you to "Cindy's Hotshots" for being helpful as well as Bulkmunitions and luckygunner for my ammo needs. In closing this is a great firearm and after over thousand rounds I have no complaints.
Dam straight. Smith&Wesson did it once again. 👌😎🤘🍻. I'm loving mine
Wish guns would come down in cost. With everything else so high , im sure it wont sell like it would have before all this inflation and covid .. have to pass
Definitely the M&P I’ve always wanted but the price is stupid. All the prices are stupid. At the end of the day if they repeal all the gun control laws, all they have to do is keep the price super high.
Get you a hi point or sccy or canik these companies do exactly what you wish 🤞
@@bev8200 I want a staccato lol but all you can do is save up or get on layaway
Unless youre talking guns that had big military contracts to bring supply waaaaaaaay up metal guns have always been pricey. Thats one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) selling point Glock pioneered with mass produced polymer frames. Metal will always be pricier and it has nothing to do with inflation.
The CEO of Smith and Wesson has announced a sale. $100 dollars off the M&P.
I picked one up about 2 months ago and absolutely love it, trigger is amazing. I have other 2.0s and all have been flawless guns, the hinged trigger never bothered me on the 2.0 but the new ones are definitely better.
Yeap. Ive had mine since December. I've put now since this past Thursday. 4,300 rounds thru mine. Running 👌. I've run 6 different brands of ammo including federal syntech ammo. Their range syntech and defense syntech ammo. 👌. Now since 3 weeks ago. I bought a shadow systems MR920L pistol. DAM good pistol. I don't mind paying the money for. QUALITY.
I bought one about two months ago as well. Love this gun. No issues and keep it consistently in a 2" grouping with just the standard sights.
@@Evlengr good evening, Erlanger. Yeap! Smith&Wesson did a DAM GOOD job on this 2.0 metal. I'm just waiting to see and 🙏 for them to come out with a Full burnt bronze pistol with the 2.0 metal. I know they have a shield EZ that's burnt bronze.
I have the 4" compact optics ready with new flat trigger and the slide stop release is very easy to work. Even with an empty mag! But the Metal is just a tad easier. I have the metal also.
I'm glad they came out with this! But I wish that the price was more reasonable
People complain about the $850 retail price of the all metal M&P 2.0. but can you name one all METAL striker firearm that cost less? To put things into perspective, Sig is the only other company that makes an all metal striker fired firearm in the P320 RXP Scorpion & Legion and they both cost $1200-$1400 and Sig can’t even keep them in stock!
@maxfit68906 Yep! That's one reason why I bought this Smith&Wesson M&P9 2.0 4.25 metal. Love it. Since December 2022 I now have just over 4k rounds thru mine. Shot brands of ammo. No issues. I do like palmetto state armory IACC ammo tho. So far. Worth the 880$ I payed for mine.
I was wondering when you might get to this review. Glad to finally see it!! Great job (as always)! Thank you!!
Great review. Looks like S&W has another winner on their hands.
" I might be high" cracked me up!.. Keep'em coming Justin.. thanks!
This gun is underrated. I’ve seen it for $50 more than a Glock that is $50 overpriced with throwaway stock sights. Updates on Glocks are also overrated. Still the same basic Glock as my 1989 Gen 2 Glock. When S&W does a new Gen and incremental updates, they mean something. The price for this gun is fair considering the price for a Sig P320 or a VP9. Great guns. Own both, but these are overpriced by comparison and you need to buy optic plates. Add that to the cost. My M&P’s are rock solid reliable and very ergonomic.
A good perspective on the price topic. Value is a very subjective thing.
@@JustinOpinionChannel Thanks. I own two of these, a 1.0 M&P9c, and a 2.0 M&P Compact. I’m a fan of S&W and their QC. These pistols don’t get the respect they deserve from the fan boys of certain other pistols, who also pick on the XD’s. The 1.0’s need a trigger job for sure, but once that is done, they shoot very well for me. Never had reliability issues either. Only the my VP9 and PDP have superior ergos and the M&P was the first to nail the biometric approach to that degree in striker fired pistols.
Facts!
I enjoy your style and type of reviews.
Another great video Justin ! Thanks
Looks are one thing. Functionality is the most important. I like it.
An excellent review. Thanks.
Thanks for shooting on paper/ orange dot. I always look for that in your reviews. Great video as always brother 👍
This is a personal favorite ❤️ 😊
I absolutely cannot wait to get one of these.
I carried the polymer version for 3 years at work and loved it. The metal version would definitely be an upgrade of an already great firearm.
I know I'm. Loving mine. I got 2,800 rounds thru it since December. Dam nice pistol. GREAT JOB! To the team at Smith&Wesson
The cerakote finish on this gun looks so good in person.
I just bought one of these 2.0 Metal 9mms, put a Delta Point Pro on it and with Federal HST 124 grain hollow points put 4 out of 5 shots on the one-inch-dot; group of four measured less than an inch. This was at 17 yards freehand. My best four shots ever at that distance. Don't love the trigger but can't argue with the results. Give it a try with a dot. Thanks
Great video & commentary. Other gun-tubers would do well to keep up. Great job. Im choosing between the Metal 2.0.vs HK P30SK but this video helps. Keep posting.
I'm contracting your evaluation to another creator that I knew right away he was bitter that Smith and Wesson overlooked him to test their products. I've always liked your "opinion" as you take into account the things that lead me to want to purchase a new gun including the artistic value. I bought an Equalizer recently because I like the looks of it. Take care and thanks.
It looks very nice. If it shoots as good as it looks, it's a winner. 🤩
Glad to see this upgrade. Metal guns are the future and the past. Polymer is like polyester leisure suits in the 70’s.
I’ve never heard anyone make fun of polymer pistols…
Yes and no. I have a 33 year old polymer gun (G19) that still works fine and is pretty stock. Do I like metal better, yes depending on the role. But there are some awesome polymer guns including the v2.0 M&P’s. Not broken, especially when you consider that the polymer frames on the M&P’s are steel reinforced to stiffen them up. Very solid.
Looking forward to getting this new M&P. I have M&P 2.0 9 mm compact. I love and I love the polymer frame. There's not one thing to dislike about the polymer frame. Strength, looks, finish, feel. That's my opinion and I would never get rid of It because its polymer. I like both.
Gorgeous looking gun, plus the reliability and durability of a time tested platform by Smith, gotta have it.
Awsome video. Can't wait to see a performance center version with a ported barrel and slide!!! Hope they do a metal sheild plus too!
They kind of do have a metal Shield. It's called the CSX.
Justin, another great video. Does S&W make a 10mm in metal? Do you prefer the 9 over the 10mm? Also, what’s your go-to home defense gun? Thanks!
Always great content and reviews...Thank You!
Sure wouldn`t mind it if they made the Shield 9 PLUS and the Shield 45PC in this new metal frame.
Might be their plan. You never know.
Absolutely 😊 give them time…
SMUTH and Wesson is the king in Gun manufacturing. All American Company
Just, great review. I put a Holosun 507C on my M&P metal and it was dead on from the get go. It didn’t take long to shoot the bull out buddy. Thanks for inspiring me to purchase one buddy.👍
The slide lock / release is extended on the metal version verses the polymer M&Ps.
I have one and love it 👍
Have you done a video on the full-size Beretta Px4 Storm ? Such an interesting pistol.
And looks nice, special imo.
I bought the same gun today. Also bought the Trijicon green/orange sights as I did not like the sights, only because I'm old!
The best ever❤
Love the new M&P 2.0 Metal version. Hope it will come available in the M&P 2.0 10mm.
I need to the this M&P in person. All the reviews keep raving about how the coating looks so nice, but to me in these videos the coating makes it look cheap. Not sure I would pick one of these up, but the M&P M2.0 is an excellent handgun overall.
Polymer frame definitely had more rise or snap to it but lighter so that’s what’s the difference, I hope we start to go back steel or aluminum frames like the old days
Alloys are the future! 3d printing in inconel and other super alloys gives so much potential in firearms in my opinion, and the surface is hardly scratched here. Definitely think those polymer pieces are reused but if they were more rubberized they'd probably be perfect
inconel is as dense as stainless steel... unless you're using it for its strength at high temperature like rocket parts, or suppressors for full auto guns... I'm not quite sure how that'll be much better for handguns.
@@aaron4820 Inconel would be a lot more expensive.
Shooting To the right on you
I have both😅 M&P M2.0 9mm polymer and also the metal one. Can't complain.
I think I'm gonna have to have this one.
The CEO of Smith and Wesson has announced a sale on the M&P's. $100 dollars off.
I bought one yesterday. It has the factory mounted red dot. I haven't had a chance to fire it yet but the feel in the hand is good.
Man that thing is snappy.
Nice looking pistol
Finally someone that knows the actual name of this pistol , everyone else misnames it on RUclips
My M&p 2.0 slide release is fine, just needs to get broken in. I spent one night just using it over and over again, now it works fine easily manipulated with 1 hand
Just picked up mine at $826 yesterday. The only difference besides the obvious that I noted is they made the slide stop different so that you can’t interchange a 1.0 slide. I was hoping to be able to put my .40 slide on it. On the 1.0 you could interchange barrels but I started to notice premature wear from it and stopped. This will be my range gun with 9mm.
Never had any problem with the left side slide release but the one on the right that's a whole different story has to be a magazine with a round in it before I can get the right side to work luckily I am right-handed so the left side one
Brass or other metal used for the interchangeable grip parts would add a bit more weight and possibly reduce perceived recoil. I don't think I would go that route.
Damn, I want one!
That slide release is beautiful tho
If I hadn't just bought the polymer version last year I'd buy this metal version without a second thought.
The specs portion of the video has some real Bob Ross vibes
I picked one up recently and was way more impressed than I though t I'd be. My only complaint is the sights, which I'll change out. Way too much white dot going on there.. Great gun though.
I love mine
I bought one like it better than the shield plus and csx real nice gun
I would consider it, but I prefer SA\DA\Hammer triggers, like a CZ 75. That being said, it seems like a fine gun if you can master the DA trigger.
I believe smith went back to the original slide stop from the gen 1 and got rid of that feature that kept them from sending the slide home when a mag is slammed in.
i have a 2.0 polymer with the new flat trigger and the slide stop/release works almost as easy as my metal. I think when they changed the trigger they may have changed the slide lever too
If you notice the slide release on the polymer has the detent and on the Metal it has no slide release detent...making it easier to drop the slide release.
my 2.0 polymer with new flat trigger works really close to as easy as my metal. drops slide easy even with empty mag. the 2 are very close. I think something with the slide stop lever was changed when they went to new flat trigger. Not a one-off thing either as my son has one too and slide drops easy also.
Might pick one up if/when the hype prices start going down or S&W brings back the 5900 series.
Hey Justin, you need to do a review of the PSA Dagger.
Can't tell any difference shooting the polymer vs the metal framed, but everyone wants one... LOL For the extra 250 bucks or so, y'all can have all the metal frames you want.
Lol true, it's for looks but it looks great!! I would get it for a reasonable price.
I finally got to shoot one. Me and my son love it....I'm M&P Gang over Glock all day.
I got one a few weeks ago and was disappointed when I noticed some rust on the mag release button. I contacted S&W and of course it’s on back order but functionally it was great. Just a tad disappointed to have a rust spot already given how much these pistols cost.
You had two M&Ps and no song of my people? Cmon man!
Very interesting, so when will the m&p metal grip come out and where should I get it? Would the metal grip fit with my old m&p 2.0 or no? Or should I have to purchase whole new m&p pistol?
She’s a beauty! However, I’ll wait for the M&P 2.0 Metal 10MM. You know it’s coming…
Did I just get a LOK grips ad from a man in a Talon grips shirt?? 😂
I've heard a number of different stats on the weight difference on the metal v polymer I was wondering if you actually weighed them as S&W has a number of typos on their site.
I haven’t handled the new metal models, but the polymer MP’s grips feel like sandpaper
They shouldve just brought back the 5906 but with an optic cut thatd be a sweet gun
That trigger plunger looks like it could be the achilles heel of the whole pistol. With the skeleton design it's begging for something to get wedged behind it and prevent the trigger from getting pulled.
Msrp $900? No F’n way.
Price is kinda high but while HK polymer guns sell at around 800 to 1000 i dont think its that bad. Saw it at my local store for sale around 750 and thats pretty reasonable. I mean sig sells there alloy p320 around 1200 and heck there are sig p365s that are around 900 due to all the bells and whistles lol. I just wish Smith and wesson would make the classic revolvers better and perhaps make the 5900 series again?
Sig is the most OVERPRICED GUN on the planet...!!!
$450 piece. No more.
Me: Bring the 39/59 back.
Smith and Wesson: The 39/59 we have at home.
Is that front strap loose on your pistol? I have the competitor in the front strap is loose in Smith West and said that was normal.
Wish they make one with a manual safety and sell the frame only.
For that price, it should have an Apex trigger, and metal optics plates. As it is, 650 is what I'd pay. There's another metal "competitor" model soon to release as well, same gun, longer barrel, built in compensator. Floyd's does make a limited edition brass magwell FYI.
What’s the other metal competitor?
@@michaelyi5794 SW Competitor. Same gun, longer barrel. Looks like the vented barrel 45 from SW. It's pictured on the instruction manual for this gun....
My dad shot one and he’s an amazing shot with any weapon and he wasn’t all that accurate with this one he just said it requires a break in
Thanks for the review looking at getting one like to know it come in a 45 ACP
As of now, just 9mm I believe. But that would also be quite appealing to me.
👍. S&W M&P 👍
A really good friend of mine has a Smith & Wesson shield m&p 9 mm and you cannot release the slide with one finger I mean thumb
They’re all expensive when they first come out
Interested in the trigger, but not at that price. Is that a new range, or just a different lane at your usual range?
the new polymer optics ready have basically same trigger for much less price.
Over priced,,,,,they need to get real if they want to really sell more.
It appears to be more snappy to me. Still bad ass looking and at only 1oz more why not
I would like to see S&W do an all metal gun that is a DA/SA hammer fired gun like a Beretta 92 or a CZ 75. What are your thoughts?
You mean bring back the Model 59 series? I’ve asked for the same.
They did but unfortunately S&W stopped making them in the early 00s. I'd love for them to bring back updated versions of the 3900/5900 series.
My 2.0 metal does not hold open the slide on the last round i think both magazines one held open once. Any one else experience this.
Thanks Justin I like Sw I have a csx metal gun I like it and I have a m&p 2.0 the trigger in 2.0 is ok but not fantastic I don’t like the fact you can’t drop the slide in the 2.0 glade smith changed that thanks for a great video
the new 2.0 polymer optics ready have the new flat trigger and can drop the slide EASY even with an empty mag!
Out of complete curiosity, does it have second strike capability?
no
@@leesamuelson thank you
for whatever reason it is NOT available with a manual safety
Is this trigger as good as the new Rival trigger?
Not a hope in hell !
Shot them both not even close Smith has got a long way to go
Unfortunately no, if it did I’d have one! The Canik rival has the best striker fired trigger on the market imo. Tough to beat
Only if it had an Apex in it. The stock trigger has come a long way. It's not bad, but it's nowhere near the canik in that regard.
Beat Glock 19X?
Wish they would have left off the polymer.
Do they come in a 5 inch barrel?
Not yet - but if this one sells well, and if I know anything about S&W, we'll see variants. Besides, that's only a different slide.
@@JustinOpinionChannel ok kool...thanx 4 the reply
My M&P 10mm weighs about maybe a ounce more, than the Metal 9mm
It seems to kick a lot more than other guns that I've seen in that same size/profile.
Off topic, if I change the sights can I adjust the poa?
You can adjust POA with the existing sights - just a matter of drifting the rear sight a bit. Elevation would be a tougher nut to crack. And not off topic at all!
