Call a local computer repair shop and let them know what’s going on, likely they will be able to help you. Repairs of this sort are more affordable than buying a replacement Xbox.
@@RetroFix I know also I took it apart and checked it out but I want to take I to apart again because your vid may hav been the fix and also I’m really young so it’s harder for me
hmm my one beeps when I put a disc in, but it doesn't spin at all, I've tried repairing the laser and stuff too. Do you think this method would work? And if there isn't anything lodged there or stuck, what do I do next?
In general when all repair attempts fail: Disc drives are relatively cheap but you have to transfer the little motherboard from inside your drive into the new one. They are “married”. Now, if more issues persist then there could be problems with said ‘drive board’ or even your motherboard- shoot, the new drive could be bad too lol. There’s always a chance of going down a rabbit hole when dealing with electronics.
@@RetroFix I just tried looking into the disc drive mechanism, I was following the steps in the video but when I put the ring/circle down and try to spin it, the disc inside doesn't spin, I noticed the grey plastic at 3:11 is on the same level as the white plastic that moves up and down, so I'm not sure if its that
@@josh4872 all I can tell ya is when you're manually inserting a disc, watch all the parts to see if they are engaging their respective gears, ultimately lowering the disc magnet onto the disc. If It is not, then all you can do is your best to identify why it's not. One time in my early fixin days; I had the disc magnet thing upside-down in a ps4... oof.
My xbox x does this it makes the noise like the games about to start up then it makes a couple clicking noises and then stops. If I take it out and put it in enough it will eventually work tho.
With this particular issue in the video there was a mechanism in the disk Drive that needed to be reset. No amount of inserting a game was going to fix that issue. There’s no telling what’s wrong with yours. I wouldn’t expect putting a game in and out many times would fix it. You have three possibilities doing that: Nothing changes and the disc drive doesn’t change/ the disc drive further brakes and your disc is stuck inside/ or somehow a mechanism pops back into place and you fixed it. I assume it’ll need to be opened up to remedy the problem. Since the drive isn’t reading anyhow your idea is worth a try.
I took my disk drive out to give it to a friend who fixes them can I still play online games I’ve download in the mean time I don’t want to turn it on yet but if I want to will it cause any damage or will I be fine with out it for now?
@3:41 - 3:50 you cracked me up

I'm not sure about that. You might want to google it and read some forum answers.
