You are so passionate about this! You get me exited about bird feeding!
Thank you so much, 😊
I've had the same set up for about 25 yrs...galvanized chain link fence pole. Completely squirrel proof, I put some petroleum jelly on the pole.
Amazing video!
Thank you
I live near you right here in almonte
Beauty! 😊👌
I live near Oshawa, so about 4 hrs west of you. I live in a rural area and have huge lawns, forests, and fields. I used to have Cardinals years ago, and it was a thrill to see them, but for some reason, I don't get them anymore and I put out sunflower seed and have put out the white seed they supposed to love but no luck. I have lots of other birds and even had Baltimore Orioles hang around for a couple of weeks before they headed north. Seems that one thing I found out from your other video was the ground feeding, and mine did do that when I had them. But I must admit now that I have moved the feeders on grass the squirrels would get all the seed. We have feeders with baffles that do keep them away, but I don't have a tray like you show that would be up off the ground but flat. The birdbath you show would maybe make a good feed tray? Do you have a price list for the pole and the optional extras and if so would you tell me how to check it out and do you do delivery UPS etc. I also get that they need low bush which I don't have near the house but am looking to see where I could plant some to give them the coverage they like.
I have had tons of Baltimore Orioles, and this year I’ve had Orchard Orioles come to my feeders for the first time...I also have had a couple of Catbirds which are new visitors for me, as well. On my other feeder, I set up a platform feeder and I have had swarms of Red Breasted Grosbeaks, both males and females... 8 of them at a time all around the feeder and on the ground under the feeder. Of course I have my hummingbirds and my finches and my Cardinals, Blue Jays, Woodpeckers, Brown Creepers, etc. but I’m so excited because it’s so early in the season and I have all this action out there. I’m looking for a good motion detected camera for birdwatching that I can sit out there to catch the action because I’m using a lot of space on my cell phone🤣.
Wow your very lucky. What state are you in? I have never seen any of those here in Tn. I have been trying to attract any kind of oriole. I have had a female and male grosbeak but can’t get them to stay long at all. I also have been trying to attract the pileated woodpecker but no luck. I guess I need to move....
I have a lot of Droll Yankee feeders they make a good product. In the winter here In the finger lakes NY we put out 2 of the 36” finch flocker tubes and many times all perches are taken and there’s another dozen finches perched on my feed station waiting for a turn. We don’t put thistle seed out In the spring or summer, for whatever reason they won’t eat it. A few Will but it goes bad before even a smaller tube feeder is used up. I’m not sure why they go nuts for it in the winter and don’t touch it in the summer, maybe because there’s wild thistle and other things in the summer. They hammer the sunflower heart feeders In the summer.
Where do you get the pictures and information on the birds you share on your iPad? Is it a book or website?
You showed the bird feeders and the pole and all that but no info on where to find one of those? Do you sell them? Can you share the info please?
Where can you buy such a pole ? Please leave links. Thank you.
