I know that temptation is often almost unbearable, believe me that you are not the only one who has gone through it, but also believe me that you are going to get out of there. God knows that you repent and want to change, that you try, and that is totally pleasing to Him. So don't give up, bro, I know you can do it! So later at my job bussing and bar backing, a guy gave me $10.00. my eyes watered. I try to be kind. As hateful as I felt earlier today, I acted out of love. Still learning the Bible "kinda" (got a lot to comprehend) but I believe in Jesus. Even when I yelled at him on the inside, saying I'm losing faith. I have a question. Is reading a page of the Bible in the morning and reading a page at night. Praying to God in the morning for how thankful I am for him and repenting when I feel that guilt that I knew I did something wrong being a Lukewarm Christian?

Prayers are being said. With God, anything is possible. You got this!!! You are an amazing and beautiful human created by God! I know you have strength to stop. And I know it’s hard to stop. Smoking can become and has become a habit of so many people you are not alone. But through God, I know that he will give you the strength to be able to stop smoking. Good message! I’ve been becoming much closer to the Lord recently. I am so excited for the plans God has in my life and I feel He’s told me He has big plans for me. So I am giving up marijuana to the Lord. I think tonight will be the last night I smoke, planning to read the book of revelation while I do that. For some context my dad has told me a story abt him and a buddy getting super stoned then reading the whole book of revelation, my dad’s buddy quit smoking soon after and became a preacher. So I feel like it fits lol. Just so thankful the Lord has drawn me back once again and way stronger than anytime before.
God's plans are for your afterlife. Everyone is just going to preach the gospel and die here. Don't store up treasure here. Renew your mind and preach the gospel.

As far as my understanding goes lukewarm means not putting fully trust in Jesus but having a good opinion about yourself, that you are good and you deserve ethernal life because you are good, not realising how wicked you truly are and that only the Lord is good and can save you.
This is honestly impossible for me to do. I try but eventually not long after. Either the same day or miraculously tomorrow, I slowly go right back to my fleshy and worldly desires and life. I honestly have no idea how to ask for God's help/Strength so I pray, but from what i see or feel nothing happens (And I do have faith). And I'm trapped in "Groundhogs day" where I eventually get mad or something else at God, Say "I give up, it's over". Live for the world then 1 or 2 days later I repent and after 1 more or 2 other days I manage to fully actually come back to God and pray and read his word....Beefore eventually ending up back to the flesh and world, eventually giving up again, and so on. I call myself an "Unwilling lukewarm Christian". As I'm Christian. But I keep getting forcibly dragged back to lukewarmness and flesh. And I have no clues of clue how to actually powerfully accurately ask God for his strength and help. And at this rate. I may be doomed for Hell if I'm just forever trapped in this groundhogs day ripoff. Which leads me to beg God for mercy on my soul everyday and night as I've accepted it.
something that might help: calm down, God loves you just the way you are, but He wants you to try to be willing to follow Him as well. something you could also try is, grabbing a Catholic friend, and talking about Jesus with them, His teachings, as well as praying ! any questions you have about Him and so on. Don't grab or use your phone as soon as you wake up, take a good time to pray, any time is a good time ! after praying (e.g. asking for forgiveness, strength, praying for others going through a time like this, and thanking God for another day.), eat something healthy, drink lots of water, and after about a 10 minutes rest of whatever (e.g. cleaning around the house, meditating, drawing or anything not-screen related.) you can use your computer to read ONE singular verse of the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) only has to be one or more if you like, of any of these. It really helps. whenever you think about doing something out of your own desires, talk to yourself, say "I know what I am about to do, and it's wrong, not only is it bad for others, it's bad for me too. I should stop." (even if its difficult, try at least, i also struggle with this. But if we truly want to change, we will change :D), and you'll see, the more you do this, the easier it gets !! I hope you get better brother, if you like, working out may also help, physically and mentally ! although not everyone likes to work out, i personally don't, but it does help others. you might want to try it out if you haven't ! But an app makes it harder and I'm unable to get a real Bible as of now. And I can't get any catholic or Christian friends as I've always been alone and probably been through the most absolute longest season of isolation. Which probably is also why I'm in this loop is because I don't have the mentality strength to keep following God daily as much as possible. Plus I sometimes rant to God, but I assure myself it's okay as long as I don't go absolutely crazy (Habakkuk afirms me that it's *probably* okay to rant to God about your anger an pains). Even as a christian we cannot end our sins. We cannot do it by our selfes we can do it by the grace of Jesus. I have a family like this. Abunch of Catholics and Mormons. The Mormon members defend lukewarm Christianity saying that there’s grey in the Bible and not black and white. They tell me 24/7 that forgiveness, love and grace must be earned by works and that grace is only given after all we can do to earn it. They also told me the atonement is only given after all we can do. It’s confusing because these things are NOT said in the Bible. I’m Mormon too but inactive. I left the church because of the self reliance work doctrine. I get bullied by my Mormon family members on a daily basis :(
The thing they’re saying about works is I think it’s called legalism. We are not saved by our works, but by the grace of God. I don’t remember the verse (I have a terrible memory) but try to google that sentence you’ll probably find a bible verse about it

I've always thought that "lukewarm" as being mixture of Grace and Law (Galatianism). This is the Lukewarm state of the intiutional church. Our sins are washed away, we are Complete in the completed redemptive and atoning work of Jesus Christ. We can only base our salvation on Faith through Grace, ALONE! Christ is the narrow way, not ourselves, not our efforts, not our filthy works. Christ has become our Redemption, Righteousness, Wisdom and Holiness, it is HIM! 1 Corinthians 1:30. We are only complete in Jesus. We are completely safe and sound under the blood of Jesus. Once we believe the Gospel of His Grace and Love. 1Corinthians 15:1-4 we are translated out of darkness and into His GLORIOUS LIGHT. Lukewarmness is having an unclear mixture of Law and Grace. This is what it is. It's not a behaviour, it's a state of believers under apostate teaching. Jesus is addressing the state of a church group, not addressing an individual. Watching this made me feel. Do I really know Jesus? I mean I have come so far….. I have went from watching pron multiple times a day to almost 0 and at most once a week which I am trying to still work on. But I ask myself have I had a change in heart? I still think lustful thoughts. I still look at women with lust. I want to feel disgust but my flesh takes over. How much more must I do? Do I really have a changed heart? Or do I just have self control. Able to have a heart of sin and a desire of sin but not taking action. I ask myself have I really overcome lust? I don’t know. I pray to God to change my heart. I do not want to feel and think and have a heart like this but how much can I do? Do I just go full monk mode and complete isolation no food water and cut my hair in the shape of a halo? Or do I wait. Patiently wait for God to do it. I am lost in this and ask for your guidance.

Don't grab or use your phone as soon as you wake up, take a good time to pray, any time is a good time ! after praying (e.g. asking for forgiveness, strength, praying for others going through a time like this, and thanking God for another day.), eat something healthy, drink lots of water, and after about a 10 minutes rest of whatever (e.g. cleaning around the house, meditating, drawing or anything not-screen related.) you can use your computer to read ONE singular verse of the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) only has to be one or more if you like, of any of these. It really helps.
whenever you think about doing something out of your own desires, talk to yourself, say "I know what I am about to do, and it's wrong, not only is it bad for others, it's bad for me too. I should stop." (even if its difficult, try at least, i also struggle with this. But if we truly want to change, we will change :D), and you'll see, the more you do this, the easier it gets !!

@user-dg8ei9sm8b It's hard to understand but it's different, as the only way for me to read the Bible is on my phone, since I don't have an actual book Bible yet. But an app makes it harder and I'm unable to get a real Bible as of now. And I can't get any catholic or Christian friends as I've always been alone and probably been through the most absolute longest season of isolation. Which probably is also why I'm in this loop is because I don't have the mentality strength to keep following God daily as much as possible. Plus I sometimes rant to God, but I assure myself it's okay as long as I don't go absolutely crazy (Habakkuk afirms me that it's *probably* okay to rant to God about your anger an pains). I don't really know what else. Sorry if I'm being hard or stubborn. I've repented to God more than I can remember about stubbornness. But with what I can think of right now, my conclusion in short is: No friends or supporters-> Lack of strength and knowledge and wisdom and motivation to actively pick up my cross daily day and night (Like the Bible states).-> Endless Groundhogs day loop of rant, giving up, coming back. Barely actually living for god after I've "Come back to him"-> Complaining and getting mad at God about how it's not fair and that I'll probably get casted to Hell for something I can't control or do properly-> The "Give up" rant.-> Repeat. I'd probably have more to say but I can't think of it right now. Also I've lacked so many friends and supporters I think I forgot how to communicate correctly with people. (Of course I speak normally. But I think it made me develop social anxiety which won't leave me, but I also don't respond to much to compliments or anything. And my brain is kinda delusional and thinks friendship is "About finding a friend who is the exact same as you", which puts me in a rabbit hole of trying to find my "Unrelated twin" somewhere. Anyways I'll stop ranting now before my message is longer than Mt. Everest.)

Even as a christian we cannot end our sins. We cannot do it by our selfes we can do it by the grace of Jesus. We will struggle until Jesus comes back, but we should give Jesus our Lifes and trust in him, then we will have the power to sin less. Maybe read the Book of Romanian, there it is well explained

I’ll admit it I want to live my life for Jesus and it’s been a struggle to not sin. Remember don’t do it on your own rely on God and pray that he will help you. In no way I’m perfect but with God’s help he’s been keeping me in a better path. With his help the desires of my flesh like lust, greed, cussing they’re going away. Lord I pray that I maintain this way and seek forgiveness. Anyone else that feels in the same boat. You can do it with God’s grace!

I have a family like this. Abunch of Catholics and Mormons. The Mormon members defend lukewarm Christianity saying that there’s grey in the Bible and not black and white. They tell me 24/7 that forgiveness, love and grace must be earned by works and that grace is only given after all we can do to earn it. They also told me the atonement is only given after all we can do. It’s confusing because these things are NOT said in the Bible. I’m Mormon too but inactive. I left the church because of the self reliance work doctrine. I get bullied by my Mormon family members on a daily basis :(
The thing they’re saying about works is I think it’s called legalism. We are not saved by our works, but by the grace of God. I don’t remember the verse (I have a terrible memory) but try to google that sentence you’ll probably find a bible verse about it

I've always thought that "lukewarm" as being mixture of Grace and Law (Galatianism). This is the Lukewarm state of the intiutional church.
Our sins are washed away, we are Complete in the completed redemptive and atoning work of Jesus Christ. We can only base our salvation on Faith through Grace, ALONE!
Christ is the narrow way, not ourselves, not our efforts, not our filthy works. Christ has become our Redemption, Righteousness, Wisdom and Holiness, it is HIM! 1 Corinthians 1:30.
We are only complete in Jesus. We are completely safe and sound under the blood of Jesus. Once we believe the Gospel of His Grace and Love. 1Corinthians 15:1-4 we are translated out of darkness and into His GLORIOUS LIGHT.
Lukewarmness is having an unclear mixture of Law and Grace.
This is what it is.
It's not a behaviour, it's a state of believers under apostate teaching. Jesus is addressing the state of a church group, not addressing an individual.

Thats not what lukewarm means. Please look up its real definition. U have to read the Bible in historical context in order to understand it correctly. Unfortunately people apply modern understanding to the Bible and completely misunderstand what the bible is trying to teach sometimes. This modern understanding of what lukewarm is, encourages works based salvation and downplays the death and resurrection of Jesus. Again, please look up its real definition(with historical context).

Watching this made me feel. Do I really know Jesus? I mean I have come so far….. I have went from watching pron multiple times a day to almost 0 and at most once a week which I am trying to still work on. But I ask myself have I had a change in heart? I still think lustful thoughts. I still look at women with lust. I want to feel disgust but my flesh takes over. How much more must I do? Do I really have a changed heart? Or do I just have self control. Able to have a heart of sin and a desire of sin but not taking action. I ask myself have I really overcome lust? I don’t know. I pray to God to change my heart. I do not want to feel and think and have a heart like this but how much can I do? Do I just go full monk mode and complete isolation no food water and cut my hair in the shape of a halo? Or do I wait. Patiently wait for God to do it. I am lost in this and ask for your guidance.
