Coco should be in Epcot at the Mexico pavilion.
They should expand on the original story of Big Thunder and add the mining ride/attraction.
Honestly Epcot is a gold mine for Disney. They could put an attraction in every country.

I appreciate your thoughts and concur - Epcot is my favorite park. It is unique to theme parks in general due to its "informational" theming. I know Florida schools used to take kids there for day trips - but no more (too many changes).
      My ideas for Epcot:
      1. Restore the Illuminations fireworks (original Disney music, etc.)
      2. France: Drop the sing along and restore the film "Impressions de France to all day vs. night only
      3. Add a Rhine river boat ride to Germany as originally planned
      4. Add another "Soarin" type film to one of the countries that has nothing (i.e. Soarin over United Kingdom, etc.)
      5. Guardians is out of place at Epcot - and should have been at another park
      6. Japan: Add a film (like Canada, China) or another boat ride
I an interested in your thoughts on these, and what you would do at Epcot
      Thanks!

@@kenwbrenner Disney is only interested in IPS nowadays. I’m not sure I agree with that though. There was something nice about great rides/attractions that were not associated with an IP.
If they put a ride in every country, it would likely be from a film.
I’d put a Big Hero 6 ride in Japan.
Epcot is still my favorite park, but it’s not as good as it was in the 1980s. Horizons should never have been torn down. Guardians is out of place there. At least they made it a pavilion from another planet. It used to be so cleverly themed. Different areas of science/technology. A true permanent worlds fair.

New Orleans is technically the reason for the Louisiana Purchase, which is the start of American frontier. So I can see how this Frontierland retheming will work. Then BTM according to the backstory was themed in Arizona (west of Louisiana Purchase) which borders Mexico (Coco😉). Farther south of Mexico (Coco) is Columbia (Encanto😉) which is in the jungle. The jungle makes it moody enough to transition into Villains Land.

As a retired theme park Master Planner and Chief Creative Officer, I think Disney should build an all new Frontier Land behind Big Thunder Mountain, complete with a new version of the Country Bear Jamboree and Pecos Bill's. Then they can start New Orleans Square just after the Diamond Horseshoe. That will make Big Thunder Mountain the iconic entrance to Frontier Land (which will feel nicely remote).

I think the whole thing could conceptually be a Rivers of America themed land where it starts with the Charles River representing Boston in Liberty Square, to then becoming the Mississippi River where the northernmost outposts in Minnesota would mesh well with the wooden Frontierland facades, then flowing through Tom Sawyer's Island, then Louisiana in the new New Orleans Square bit, before turning and becoming the Rio Grande for Big Thunder Mountain, which would actually then thematically blend well into a Mexico area for Coco just north of that. This wouldn't require much capital expenditure at all and would be like when you're on the Jungle Cruise and magically go through South America, Africa, and Asia all on one river.

Crowd control. If they expand park capacity, will they still funnel all the guests down mainstreet and out to the monorail and boats at night? To me,...this seems like a HUGE bottleneck problem. On busy nights after the fireworks, the heard runs to the only way out of the park then waits in long lines...just to get back to the TTC. Adding these new lands would make the problem much worse. Do you see a "rear-park" bus gate to the TTC? It seems necessary to me to have a "rear gate" bus or even mono track station there. Awesome video Brayden!!!

  • @BellePullman
    @BellePullman Год назад +114

It would require a new train station to access those far lands... I think REMOVING Frontierland would be unforgivable. But moving to a "New Frontierland" - that I can see! An "Old West" theme as part of a theme park is absolutely essential thanks to Disney, and a huge part of the character. I can see Big Thunder serving as the entrance to a New Frontierland which is itself a connection to two mini-lands for Coco and Encanto. Yes the geography is unrealistic, but, "Adventureland" features where, exactly? It's all fantasy. I can see "Tom Sawyer Island" getting the same sort of generic overlay that the "Adventureland Treehouse" in Disneyland is getting - stripping back the IP for a more general, adventurous theme.
Personally I'd rather see more in the line of "Adventureland" - the land itself not tied to IPs, but the IP-based attractions within it blend well with the overall theme.

The loop around Rivers of America, and more rides, simply need to exist to spread the crowds. But there's much more to the MK that needs to be done urgently. I mean, look at that Peter Pan untouched since opening day, the empty Alien/Stich theater, a proper theater itself (or even 2 tbh, one in Main Street and another in Storybook Circus would be great)... I really hope they bring a lot of care to the park this time, without excessive budget cuts all the time. It simply needs to be done.

Tokyo Disneyland doesn’t formally have a New Orleans Square, yet the Adventureland area around Pirates of the Caribbean is French Quarter New Orleans themed given that its version of Pirates is almost the same as Disneyland and has a Blue Bayou restaurant too.

A big part of Splash Mountain's greatness was the animatronics. I sure hope they don't cheap out on this aspect of the revamped ride. If they want Tiana's Bayou Adventure to be as beloved as Splash Mountain, a big drop with a few limited animatronics thrown in is not going to cut it. They need an impressive collection of animatronics, a good storyline, and great music. Anything less and everyone is going to be very disappointed with a change that is no doubt costing Disney a lot of money. Why spend so much money to replace a ride with something that isn't as good? Spend a little more to make something that will continue to be a hallmark attraction.

The lack of advanced animatronics on Tiana doesn’t bode well for me. If they want to go all the way with electronic animatronics then they need to go that route since you say it cut’s maintenance cost. Animatronics are a staple of the Disney Parks and if they turn Tiana into a Navi River Journey situation I’ll be very upset. I love idea of a Villians Grove and the Country Bears refresh. Literally all I’ve wanted for years is for them to fix Journey into Imagination but they are seemingly doing everything they can to not do it.

Removing the current Frontierland would be a huge MISTAKE. The theming is excellent; Such as how the architecture of the buildings from Liberty Square and The Diamond Horseshoe down to Pecos Bills gets further Westward as you move through the land.
It's arguably the best land in Magic Kingdom, and maybe the strongest of all Frontierlands globally.

If we are to honor the overall vision of the park as always developing, always creating, sometimes even long running things need to change. I have little reason to be optimistic, BUT I will say that fewer figures in Tiana compared to Splash doesn't necessarily mean a less enjoyable show. If the new figures are more expressive and fluid, the performances could make up for the smaller cast (assuming there is a smaller cast). So I'm not quite ready to wash my hands of the business yet. Honestly, the biggest change I want to see is a commitment from the company to the cast. I'm sure lots of y'all have great memories of cast interactions that made a trip magical. I would love for the company to show appreciation and support to a cast that does this, because speaking from experience there's nothing quite so frustrating as feeling neglected when you're doing your best to make someone else's day special.

Brayden, I am a brand new subscriber. My first of many visits to WDW was June 1972 as a 9 year old. My wife and I have raised our family out west. So, I totally love Disneyland. Although I have watched a few of your past videos and appreciated them, this one has me hooked to see what happens! :-)
As a decades long imagineer wannabe, my contribution to this blue sky (or reality?) plan is all about naming. I feel like the name of each area of the park is also very important to the magic.
To start of, as we transition from Frontierland, I would call the New Orleans area 'Cajun County'. To me the word 'country' flows better from the Frontier. 'Cajun' describes the New Orleans ambiance, and also allows the alliteration with Critters, whether it be a country bear or a bayou bear, or a Jamboree or some Jambalaya!
Next, we head towards Big Thunder Mountain, Coco and Encanto. Forgive me, but Desertland is going to die a hot, dry parched death! But 'Tierra del Magia' (Land of Magic) I like 'Tierra del'. Magic was my first thought. I like it. Perhaps someone has another.
Finally, Villianland seems too generic. I am still looking for a name here. Frightsville? The Backyard? (thinking of it's physical location behind The Haunted Mansion? I don't know. I am still working on that one... How about Sleepy Hollow? Or is that too specific? Where would all of the villains enjoy hanging out?
I would like to know your thoughts.

Looking at the Google maps satellite images there is a bit of a wooded area between the railroad and the backstage area that it could extend into. This Frontierland would end with a bridge to cross over into coco/enconto area. Looking at the proposed villains
Area, I think they could move the line for haunted mansion to make a walkway along the river. As a second entrance they could do a tunnel between the HM and small world show buildings. That could be fun and spooky.
