I never knew that DL’s Pirates of the Caribbean had extra scenes! I always felt the WDW was over too fast, so I’m even more eager to visit the DL attraction. It looks very pretty at the opening scene.
Disneyland also has a restaurant, The Blue Bayou, that is set inside the bayou scene at the beginning of the Pirate of the Caribbean ride . It's a cool experience eating at the restaurant while riders are drifting by.
The fact that you mentioned Maynard makes me so happy. I was able to see the Tiki Room with him and it just made the whole show that much better! I hope he knows how much we love him!!
Attractions superior at Magic Kingdom: Peter Pan, Jungle Cruise, Splash Mountain Attractions superior at Disneyland: Big Thunder, Pirates of the Caribbean Both great (hard to decide, depends on what you consider better): Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain
I still give it to Disneyland over magic kingdom because the attractions and themed areas are much closer together while in Florida there’s too much open nothingness so much more walking around to get from place to place. In the future if they fill out the park more then I’ll give it to kingdom.
HerculesMulligan TheBoi No, I live almost on the other side of the country. I live much closer to Walt Disney World, in Florida, but I’ve only ever been to DisneyLand because my sister lives in California
Walt Disney World will always stay as my favorite. I personally just think it has so much more to offer than Disneyland.I definitely agree with what you said 100%.

DCA vs. HW Studios, DCA clear winner. Nothing vs. Animal Kingdom, DAK clear winner. Mickey and Friends Parking Structure vs. Epcot, Epcot slightly better. LOL :)
I agree. Disney world has way more magic and amazing things. Also, it's like Disney land but made all the stuff that looked bad turn great. For instance, the water is more black so you cant see the animatronics. That seems more magical and real in my opinion. I agree with you, all the way. Plus I'm going there at the end of March so I'm so excited. It will be my fourth time. Hopefully, it will still be magical.
Yeah if you count all of the boats, monorails, buses and possibly your own car that it takes to get to the different gates of WDW, then maybe they have more attractions. The Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World Resort is hard to compare. I always tell people if you only have a few days, go to Disneyland. If you have a week or more, go to WDW. Both are great! I have been to both resorts multiple times, but consider Walt never stepped foot in MK or any completed part of WDW, it's castle is much larger but so is the distance between each attraction and each park gate, and EPCOT is not what Walt wanted it to be. He didn't even want to build MK, he was convinced by his team that they had to in order to get people to live and work at EPCOT. I think you can tell which coast I prefer. If you just compare attraction counts: DL in the high thirties, MK in the high twenties, and DL Paris in the high teens.
Oh yeah I meant aneheim. It’s just my personal favorite and while the whole park isn’t 100% Walt Disney’s work the layout and main idea still is. Sad that they changed up pirated a bit though.

As a Cast member in 1979 I had the opportunity to be on the first/opening crew during the summer and fall of 1979. Great Viceo and very accurate. It waas Tony Baxter's first major attraction design, it was the whole vision throughout reality, then opening. There were alot of challenges with the first ride vehicles as WED/Imagineering had been out on strike and the vehicles were outsourced to another conpany, or parts of them, as we were told. We went through weeks of "in door" training due to the sophistication of the computerized ride system, "testing" throughout rthe summer was tedious, but we made it very fun. Not universally what are you talking about? They each actually have their own strengths and weaknesses. For example, the Haunted Mansion in Disney World has additional scenes Disneyland doesn't have (Stair scene). Disneyland's version has an animatronic (hatbox ghost) Disney World doesn't have. Space Mountain in Disney World is based on the Matterhorn and is perfect for those who like rough rides ripping through the dark (plus the inline ride vehicle is cool and has you ride by the seat of your pants). Disneyland's version has its own design and is great for those who want a smoother experience while sitting next to someone. Splash mountain's are very similar save for the ride vehicles themselves. Pirates of the Caribbean is indeed longer and a bit better at Disneyland, however don't discount that Disney World's version cuts right to the action and maintains some of the great parts of the original. Radiator Racers has more Disney theme compared to test track and is beautiful, but test tracks theme is fun in its own right and has the design a car part. Tower of Terror vs Guardians ride, California screamin vs rock and roll roller coaster), and also each park has rides that do not exist or have no equivalent in the other.
@@diegoalex4587 Not them, but I disagree and provided my reasoning in a separate reply. TLDR: Each parks rides have their own strengths and weaknesses.
I'm so glad how much you elaborate on the Pirates ride being way better at Disneyland. I've said this for years to anyone I talk to about the differences in the park. It's not just better, it's waaaaaaay better!
2-3 years ago, I went to Disneyland for the first time. We had an amazing day there and even stayed for the fireworks. After the fireworks, we began to leave and it started snowing since it was in late November. That, was truly magical.
Love the new video! Such a cool idea for a countdown. I definitely hope there are more in this series comparing rides from other lands - maybe even similar rides across the international parks, as well? Love your videos, and I always get excited when I see there’s a new one!
I have been to both parks, and, honestly, they both are awesome. I like them both a LOT, and honestly, Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean ride is the best. Disney World's version REALLY freaked me out. Well, actually, I was 8 when I rode the WDW's version. The mermaid bones creeped me out, and, until the pirate scene, I was crying because I was so scared. Also, keep up the good work, TPMvids!
The original is the best, we absolutely love Disney in CA. We spent our honeymoon there, the cast members are outstanding. We spend every anniversary with Disney in CA., we are treated like kings by the cast members every time we visit, not only that but we drive from Aspen, CO. Love the drive!
The One and Only Biggie Cheese doesn’t mean they aren’t different? I don’t think you ever been to Disney before or seen both. Disney world is much better themed because it’s a much bigger area. If it’s a bigger area with less theming then it would be boring and bland. There’s much more than Disneyland
Po Just because it’s a bigger area doesn’t mean it’s better themed though. Disneyland is smaller than Disneyworld but it still is themed all over the park
I’m addicted to this! I’m going to Disneyland in November! So I want to impress my family to find all these secrets! So I watch you! But not just that.... I love your videos! They’re the best! I don’t watch anybody else but you! And yet... and can’t stop watching them!!
Disney World feels like it came off a factory assembly line whereas Disneyland feels more handcrafted, thus making it more magical. It may not seem as polished, but I’ll always prefer Disneyland. Plus, the narrator is right about Maynard. He’s awesome! But I’ve always thought both parks have really friendly cast members.
Happy that Disney World still has the Peoplemover and Swiss Family Treehouse. Two things that I always do whenever I'm there! Especially the peoplemover! A good time to ride it is during the fireworks and at closing time. At closing time, you can see Space Mountain with the lights on while on the TTA! However, for Disneyland attractions, I will say that I really like the Matterhorn and Disneyland's version of POTC better.
I wouldn’t say all of the Disneyland versions are better. WDW has a better Space Mountain than Disneyland. The queue and the track layout is better. Not to mention, it’s the original Space Mountain
Actually Disneylands space mountain is better! The que is WAY better for one, and also, the MUSIC IS AWESOME!!!!!! Also, you don't seem to give one about "being the originol" for all of the rides Disneyland had first so I'm just going to discount that point. ( :
They don’t talk about disney land Paris😔 I went a few times and it’s great. But I can’t compare it to the other parks since I never went outside of Europe
Having grown up going to Disneyland, I thought the very end of thunder Mountain in Disney World had a beautiful view of a few springs, seems like a different track layout.
I’m a Disneyland native. I love Disney world too but in different ways. They both have their own pros and cons. Pirates of the Caribbean is hands down better at Disneyland. Jungle cruise is better at Disney world but both rides are still boring. There is too many differences to list. Disneyland will always be the best to me because if it’s “original” feeling I get there vs magic kingdom. I didn’t get that feeling at Magic Kingdom. But I like how gigantic Disney World is, the extra parks and the resorts. Disney Springs is hands down better than Downtown Disney. The list goes on. But damn a week trip to a Disney World resort is F’ing expensive! At least $10k for a family of 5 during spring break🤦🏽♂️ with that said we’re still planning another WDW trip again in the future😁
If your trip is expensive at WDW try going at a different time of year or when theres no breaks. My family stays on Disney property every year in November and the All Star Sport hotel and its like around a hundred bucks a night and tickets are about 120 per person. It really depends on the time you go
I do agree that the soundtrack of Splash Mountain in WDW fits the ride better, but I'm so attached to DL's version because I grew up going to Disneyland and Splash Mountain was my favourite ride. There's something about those brass instruments that feels so nostalgic and warm to me
I agree with 4 out of 5. For splash mountain, the ride feels more like a log ride with the single wide log. I don't like the double log and the DL version you get much wetter. I also like the music better on the DL Version.
So glad I found this channel!! This really helps me with facts about Disney and I show this to my parents to help prepare for our trip every year!! This is my first year going into Epcot, wish me luck!!
Have lots of fun! Also just a warning, if you are going in December make sure to buy Fast Pass since lines for rides are double or triple the size than in summer!
Having lived in both Orange County, California and Orlando, Florida and spent time at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, this is a great - and very fair - video. Ironically, while Walt Disney World is massive, the four parks combined (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney Studios, and Animal Kingdom) actually have fewer rides than the Disneyland Resort (Disneyland Park, and Disney California Adventure). That's not including films, displays, or walkthroughs ... but actual rides. LOTS of really good thing at Disney World, but both resorts so different, it's hard to say one is "better" than the other. Except when it comes to weather. Sorry, East Coast friends. Say what you will about California, but the weather (especially in the summer) is pretty stellar. Cheers.
I agree with all of your picks but one. Having been to both parks in the past 3 years I have to say that MK’s BTMR is definitely superior. The queue, views on the ride, and track are just great. I get that you said it’s smoother but honestly there’s not that much of a difference. If anything the bumpy nature of the coaster fits the whole story and could honestly imo be passed as theming. Of course the explosion seen is better in Disneyland but overall I think that MK’s version is the better experience. Keep up the good work TPM!
Idk about Disney world because I haven’t been on BTMR in a long time there but Disneyland also has padded seats now and not a hard surface so for that I reason I have to go with Disneyland
Agree, a couple of years ago I went on the bobsled ride in disneyland. My back was messed up for a couple of weeks afterwards due to the bumpiness. Luckily it has been refurbished and is now more smooth. I think Disney theme parks are just awesome since I’m not a huge fan of extreme roller coasters.
Thanks for being one of the few creators out there that can recognize that original does not equal best, far too often will people throw objective critique out the window in favor of nostalgia or, hell, even just the "clout" they think they'd get for liking the old school more
Idk why but I find it hilarious when he says that the Disney rides have “drops”. Like, I would barely consider the Splash mountain hill a “drop”. Anyway, this was a great video and I agreed with your points.
I have to say you left out the part of Splash Mountain in Disneyland that makes it the far superior ride...when you're going up the lift hill and the mother rabbit and porcupine are singing the song to their children about 'don't you go to the laughing place or the fox will get you too' and it's super dramatic, seriously makes the whole ride!! Not to mention the smaller log makes the drop seem steeper and more thrilling.
A good queue can be up to 40% of what makes a ride enjoyable and memorable and fun to me. Like in E.T. I LOVE that queue, and I don't mind a longer wait time because I get to spend more time in it.
For WDW, I'd say Expedition Everest, Flight of Passage, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Tower of Terror, Slinky Dog Dash, Rock n Rollercoaster, Spaceship Earth, Frozen Ever After, Peoplemover, and Dinosaur
I agreed with all! But i prefer splash from disneylend, because has a spirit of older thing and you have que idea of been in a big dark forest, wich brings a suspense to the log flume!!! Please do with Seaworld from orlando and san diego!
I prefer Disneylands BTMR because it's much smoother imo. Also Splash Mountain at MK was closed when I went, so i'm dissappointed to hear i missed a better ride.
Love the comparisons! Ive only ever been to Disney World but can't wait to check out Disney Land to see the differences between the rides as well as ride the attractions unique to the west coast!
I don't care I live in Florida so I have to say Disney world wins but like in splash mountain I like the country back ground but in Disney Land i like the smoke that I see in thunder mountain pirates of the Caribbean I understand why that would win jungle cruise I bearly can / can't see the difference in the ride but I think it is a tie in my thoughts but in universal California that wins
Disneyland may not be larger but our rides and experiences are more in charge! (Snaps fingers) Um-hm. Most of the time. Wait, Disneyland’s splash mountain has a story?
Tiki Maynard!!! It was so awesome to see him highlighted in this video. I'm disappointed whenever I go and it's someone other than him doing the Tiki Room intro. He's a true Disneyland Treasure!

I noticed that on big thunder sitting in the front at wdw is more scary than the back of Disney land, something isn’t adding up here
I have been to both parks, and, honestly, they both are awesome.
Ya I love Disney land to I go once a year
Jesse C Caparrella Disney world is just much bigger and better themed tbh I’ve been to both over 5 times
Po how is better themed lol? They both are Disney.
How did it go?
Disney World feels like it came off a factory assembly line whereas Disneyland feels more handcrafted, thus making it more magical. It may not seem as polished, but I’ll always prefer Disneyland.
Plus, the narrator is right about Maynard. He’s awesome! But I’ve always thought both parks have really friendly cast members.
I honestly prefer disney world it just feels more magical to me. Food is better too which is what I like and it is a bigger park
Don’t forget Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, wait a minute... Every one of their rides is better!
I wouldn’t say all of the Disneyland versions are better. WDW has a better Space Mountain than Disneyland. The queue and the track layout is better. Not to mention, it’s the original Space Mountain
Yes! Magic Kingdom is the only park that still has the PeopleMover! Also the Swiss Family Treehouse and Carousel of Progress.
Actually Disneylands space mountain is better! The que is WAY better for one, and also, the MUSIC IS AWESOME!!!!!!
Also, you don't seem to give one about "being the originol" for all of the rides Disneyland had first so I'm just going to discount that point. ( :
Also, hey WDW, where's your Snow White? 😆
Disneyland will always be my favorite.
Nooo it is ugly
@@chloevlogs267 well if it wasn’t for Disneyland, Disney world wouldn’t be a thing
Got to say I like magic kingdom more because there is more going in
Will Brown you don’t make any sense🤣🤣🤣
I also head that direction too :) Disney World
I’m a little curious about what happened in Disneyland Paris because I’ve never heard about it
Macaroni Man just googled it and apparently the fake rocks hit the train and 5 people got injured, one quite badly.
That's terrible!!!
In 2011 ...
Hi
They don’t talk about disney land Paris😔
I went a few times and it’s great. But I can’t compare it to the other parks since I never went outside of Europe
I’m going to Disney land this summer and you have no idea how excited I am!1!!2!!
I just got back from there it was fun hope u have a really great trip!! 😃 😊
rip
I will probably never go either. But I hope everyone who goes enjoys themselves. Love from New Zealand
Yo Za never say never!!!
I like Disneyland because it's the first disney theme park
Same. And it's not constantly raining in California
Disney world
flame gaming same here
Everyone gangster till the benches wet
But like theme park wise, Disney World wins. But you’ll get a more enjoyable experience at California because the sun is always off.
Having grown up going to Disneyland, I thought the very end of thunder Mountain in Disney World had a beautiful view of a few springs, seems like a different track layout.
The tpmvids merch the equivalent to how much I spend for a meal at Disneyland
Edit: that’s a good thing because I love the merch!
I also like the music better on the DL Version.
agreed
Cheers.
Thunder Mountain Magic Kingdom needs the Disneyland ending!
Agreed
Your awesome TPM you always make me smile
I’m always in drama and these videos just make me forget and be happy
Robbie C Tokyo Disneyland's is also mirror images California's just like WDW but with some replacements.
Next you should do Fantasyland then Tomorrowland
I think you nailed it for all 5. I've been to both parks dozens of times, and every point you made is right there.
Idk bout you but this is one of my favorite channels 😤👌
I’m old school and biased so Disneyland will always be better.
There's three other parks in Disney World!!!!
Disney world is better periodt sis
Kyleigh Gonzalez ur opinion doesn’t mean everyone has to agree with it i like disneyworld more cuz it’s closer lol
@@urlocalsissy369 bruh u cannot take a joke can u
Kyleigh Gonzalez i don’t rlly see how its a joke minus the “periodt sis” :/
Thanks for being one of the few creators out there that can recognize that original does not equal best, far too often will people throw objective critique out the window in favor of nostalgia or, hell, even just the "clout" they think they'd get for liking the old school more
Idk why but I find it hilarious when he says that the Disney rides have “drops”. Like, I would barely consider the Splash mountain hill a “drop”. Anyway, this was a great video and I agreed with your points.
Dahlia Larson what would u call it then??
Katy S.C I don’t really know, maybe a hill?
I have to say you left out the part of Splash Mountain in Disneyland that makes it the far superior ride...when you're going up the lift hill and the mother rabbit and porcupine are singing the song to their children about 'don't you go to the laughing place or the fox will get you too' and it's super dramatic, seriously makes the whole ride!! Not to mention the smaller log makes the drop seem steeper and more thrilling.
THANK YOU FOR POINTING THAT OUT
Im A Big Disney Fan. TPMvids Makes Me More Intrested Into Disney. Thanks TPMvids For Making Me Choose Disney World Side And Disney

This is random but, both of the Disneys are made in places that don’t snow in the U.S. Just a thought.
That’s so you can go there year round and snow won’t stop you
Early planning had Niagara Falls as one potential location for Disney World.
Peter Langlois oh wow
Amanda SparkLight so its year round
They’d have to take a lot more time to build everything in consideration of snow
A good queue can be up to 40% of what makes a ride enjoyable and memorable and fun to me. Like in E.T. I LOVE that queue, and I don't mind a longer wait time because I get to spend more time in it.
Do top rides that are at Disneyland but not Disney World or the other way around
Alfie Davies Rodger Rabbit (isn’t at Disney world sadly)
For WDW, I'd say Expedition Everest, Flight of Passage, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Tower of Terror, Slinky Dog Dash, Rock n Rollercoaster, Spaceship Earth, Frozen Ever After, Peoplemover, and Dinosaur
Disneyland: Indiana Jones, the Matterhorn, roger rabbit, (including all of California adventure) guardians of the galaxy, the incredicoaster,
DISNEY WORLD 🤞🏻🥳💖👍🏼⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I agreed with all! But i prefer splash from disneylend, because has a spirit of older thing and you have que idea of been in a big dark forest, wich brings a suspense to the log flume!!! Please do with Seaworld from orlando and san diego!
Big Thunder Mountain was my favorite ride when i went to Disneyland.
I'm so thankful for Disney world to be 2 states away 👌
I like both, DL and WDW are both amazing! 💖
I prefer Disneylands BTMR because it's much smoother imo. Also Splash Mountain at MK was closed when I went, so i'm dissappointed to hear i missed a better ride.
I can’t give an opinion cause I’ve never been in Disney Land only Disney World magic kingdom , animal kingdom and Blizzard Beach
I agree with the list. Florida's Big Thunder is being refurbished, hopefully to similar changes.
Love the comparisons! Ive only ever been to Disney World but can't wait to check out Disney Land to see the differences between the rides as well as ride the attractions unique to the west coast!
I LOVE BOTH PARKS!!!!
Love the vids
Puts a smile on my face all the time, wish I could live there 🙂
I don't care I live in Florida so I have to say Disney world wins but like in splash mountain I like the country back ground but in Disney Land i like the smoke that I see in thunder mountain pirates of the Caribbean I understand why that would win jungle cruise I bearly can / can't see the difference in the ride but I think it is a tie in my thoughts but in universal California that wins
I had a stroke trying to read that. Use punctuation.
Wow! I would love to see that Smoke Effect in BTM added in Magic Kingdom!
Disneyland may not be larger but our rides and experiences are more in charge! (Snaps fingers) Um-hm. Most of the time.
Wait, Disneyland’s splash mountain has a story?
Shut up trashcan

I agree Disneyland feels more original, after all it was the original and Walt was there himself.
Yea Florida!
Yea California!
Tiki Maynard!!! It was so awesome to see him highlighted in this video. I'm disappointed whenever I go and it's someone other than him doing the Tiki Room intro. He's a true Disneyland Treasure!
Give a like if you love disneyland!!!!!!
I hate Disney. I love Disney world.
Which one like : Disney WORLD ✨
Disney land : comment 🤢
Btw Disney world is better :> I’ve been to both and Disney world Florida is ten times better I’ve never been a fan of pirates of the Caribbean so I don’t exactly like any.
What if instead of changing splash mountain to tiana’s ride, what if it changes to the Country Bear Jamboree? A big return after 2 decades!
Disneyland is the the best to me
no it is not
