After 66 years with my first wife who died when we were 86, I met and married another wonderful woman, now together fo 4 years. I drive ( no accidents since 1963), keep up with all my responsibilities, sing in a church choir, and ran a business until I was 87.
Great advice. I am 84 and totally independent. God has given me good health and a good mind. I ride my recumbent trike about 40 miles/week. I lost my beloved wife 13 years ago. I have a social companion and great friends.
Great advise. I am 70 on my next birthday. I intend to take up landscape painting, dancing, and learn to play the flute and piano. What's cool is that you don't have to worry about being good at anything.

I am soon to be 79 years old and still take care of my home including washing windows, blinds, mop, vacuuming and cleaning throughout our home. I also do all the laundry and iron what is needed. Each year I love to plant a lovely garden with many flowers and I also plant a vegetable garden. Along with that I also pay all the bills, grocery shop and prepare all meals for my husband and I. When we go anywhere I am usually the designated driver. I exercise 3-4 days a week and do my darnedest to stay physically fit. I feel very fortunate to be able to do everything as I did when I was young.

Be active with church neighbors and caring for those in need’ I am 85 and spend most of my time helping and caring for others! ❤️🙏
75 and still taking care of a.small.farm. Caring for sheep, goats, chickens, milking two goats and making cheese with the milk, build fences, construct and repair our buildings, grow a garden, tend a small orchard, improve our pastures by planting cover crops, cut up trees that fall in high winds for firewood and I could go on. Work never ends on a farm, but make time for reading, piano, fishing and hunting. My best friend and partner for nearly 55 years is also 75 and works and plays right beside me. If you sit around worrying about getting old that's what will happen. We are aiming for another 40 or 50 years at least. Oh and did I mention my beautiful Arabian saddle horse?
I'm turning 71 soon and also very healthy, no medications either. We don't need to exploit animals for their milk to make cheese, ride on a horse's delicate spine or kill other animals in fishing and hunting to stay healthy. I eat a whole food plant based diet which means not using animals at all for food or anything else for that matter. They want to live in peace and free from harm too.
@@suzyvegalicious5646 It is your right to live by your ethics, just as it is my right to live by mine. My goats are hardly exploited. In return for the milk I take from them they are well fed, protected from predators, have a warm barn to sleep in with deep straw, fans to cool them in the summer and 10 acres to graze and play on. The kids stay with their mothers until she is ready to wean them, or it becomes necessary to wean them because it is too hard physically on the mother. Once the kids begin eating grain and hay, I put them in a stall right next to their mothers overnight, so I can have part of her milk in the morning. I raise and hunt animals to help put food on our table, just as people have done for thousands of years. Animals in the wild don't live in peace and free from harm. Predators live by killing herbivores. Herbivores may fight among themselves and fatally injure each other, especially males. All animals that live in groups have a hierarchy. Those with the most status get first choice of food and best nesting/sleeping/ watering places. Lower status animals are chased away, have to eat whatever is left over, and often are not protected by the group. Don't tell me about the peace and safety of living in the wild without people "exploiting" them. I've seen how animals live in the wild. And since scientists have found that all growing things are connected by living webs of microbes and communicate, why aren't you concerned about vegetables being ripped out of the ground, or parts of them ripped off for you to eat. Did you object to trees being ripped out of the ground and the living soil scraped away so your house could be built. Aren't these things exploitation?
@@suzyvegalicious5646 Sounds like you look down on people who live their life differently than you, kinda prideful in that respect. Not a healthy attitude.
@@claudiamcbride9746 I'm not going to argue with you because you haven't come to that stage yet where you understand the principles of not taking life or exploiting other beings for your own benefit when you can live a perfectly healthy life like I and millions of others do. Your points are very weak in this discussion. It is about doing the least harm possible. Oh and my house, a studio on a property which used to be a barn has nothing to do with this subject. We grow a huge amount of organic vegetabled and about 40 different types of fruits. Please don't insult me by comparing a carrot being sliced for dinner to a living sentient being having their throat slit open. Would you like your throat to be slit? End of story.
@@richardginste4399 no that's just your argument because you know full well that what I was saying was true. If other people live their life by needlessly exploiting, harming and murdering living sentient beings and I don't do that then I have every right to speak up for these innocent beings who have no voice. I used to live that way but I woke up and made the connection which you haven't done obviously or you would have understood the truth in my words. I am 70 and I am vegan and I am totally healthy. Oh and yes I am very proud of how far I have come in this journey.

@@claudiamcbride9746 The acronym lai’i that sounds like a word from Hawai’i expands to: l = lucid; a = ambulatory; i = sleep in doors; i = pantry food in stock. An old person having these 4 privileges can answer the question, “¿How are you?”
Well if the difference between being a “REAR” person or a “RARE” person is any indication of this authenticity, then you’ve got it made…otherwise what a waste of time to click on to listen….which I didn’t…the title was enough to just show the incompetence of this and move on…thankfully!!!!

At 87, I take care of my all my basic necessities, as well as housework, cooking, laundry, shopping, etc. I read a lot, am creative, keep myself informed, have a hobby, use the computer, write many letters and go out with friends, together with my husband of 57 years, We don't dwell on being old and are grateful to be enjoying relatively good health and happiness. Everything is exactly as it is supposed to be!
@@suzannekiraly4480 I am happy for you & your husband you still have each other. I was married in 1951. Lost my husband 21 yrs. ago, miss him everyday!
Enjoy life, stay safe.🏴🇨🇦👍🏻🌅
At 92 still walking 2 miles every morning on the paths around my property.
Stay strong …you will be truly loved and blessed
*Which GOD????*
@@Robert_Robertson The GOD he believes in... good enough for me.
Great advise. I am 70 on my next birthday. I intend to take up landscape painting, dancing, and learn to play the flute and piano. What's cool is that you don't have to worry about being good at anything.
It's great advice too.

I'm only 68, but, I feel that way about Him, too. The Holy Spirit gives life to our mortal bodies, amen!
I am 77. I walk about 2.5 miles 3-4 times a week, bike about a half hour a day at 11-12 mph, and play some pickleball. I am an 11 year survivor of pancreatic cancer and attend a fundamental church.
A Sharp mind .... I take mine out every week and sharpen it. Whether I've used it or not.
With a name like that I don't think you'll have a long life.
I love it. Just ignore the vegetable. I do crosswords, often, to exercise the brain and I talk to friends and explore the internet. Life is good and God is love. Keep going!

There’s a lot of truth in that

75. All of you are so inspiring. Doing good !
I'm 70 and virtually all my friends are younger than me. All the older ones have passed on.
That’s the saddest thing I’m 77 and have just lost an old friend who was the same age. I have a windowsill of photos, dead people. I remember their birthdays. 💐
I am 75 and still capable of doing most of the household chores plus taking care of my 2 lovable puppies. Everyday i allot an hour and a half to attend the mass and pray for my continuous healthy life onwards, Thanks be to God🥰🙏
I’m an octogenarian. Still married to my first and only wife for over half a century. Reared 5 children. Have 11 grandchildren with 2 more planned and 1 great grandchild with unknown number planned. My cardiologist of 44 years says I can make it past 105yo my complete bloodwork is all within range. I have never smoked, drank, used illicit drugs or drank coffee. All my organs function beautifully. I notice cartilage loss in knees and left hip that limits my walking to 2 miles a day. I am formally educated in the hard sciences. I grew up on a farm and learned first hand about NOT EATING processed food. Avoid restaurant foods like poison. My father in law is 105yo. OK,so what are the 8 things from the title? I heard a lot more than 8 good suggestions.
