Yeah after hearing twice already that we would get a return to aki games and seeing that they look nothing like modern aki games, it's nice to see the old animations again. Think there's another game using the old aki engine in the works as well but they have ragdoll physics instead so it's really a golden era for Indy wrestling games coming up.

Naw that No Mercy engine was more superior. Yes I know it's slow but it had more variety of moves and running grapple moves. WCW and Wrestlemania 2000 didn't have that

The animations look so close to No Mercy, from the Brainbuster sell, to the diving elbow, to the bucklebomb, to the running into each other animation, to everything. It's so clean. Also shoutout to the different fed names & looks, from the big fed still being able to be called "E", UJPW having Japan as the J in the logo, Triple L as the lucha territory, it's so rad down to the little details. You can tell it's a work of love. Also that spinoff of the Rey mask with the American flag is so damn cool too. Crowd & background of arenas look way better than I was expecting to see at this stage, and the actual ring area & trons themselves look so good in all of the arenas. Critiques are that I'm seeing (and as a fellow game dev, I know you already know about these lol), but I'm hungry for some animation blending and perhaps some facial animation, even if it's very little. I noticed rope physics are a little detached but honestly I don't mind it, I think it's fine and I even think that casuals would rather have it like this than it is in 2k. Gimbles called it "galactic spaghetti" in the Discord and I think that speaks for itself. I also know that Core AI is going to be a bitch, let alone Advanced AI if the Kickstarter gets there (looks like it will, this has been a crazy day), but with some of the sponging I've seen you doing while networking with the N64 Wrestling Game Modding community, I know this project is in great hands. To anyone just learning about this project, trust that we've seen this game get crazy developments on the Patreon, and when they say that they have a mass amount of the groundwork in place and now it's just adding more assets (move animations, CAW items, arena items), they mean it. We've seen some of these features and while some aren't guaranteed in the first Kickstarter goal, there is great foundation there to polish these mechanics and hit this out of the park if we rally hard enough to finally get a real, modern AKI successor. Thank you to everyone who's giving this project eyes, and I hope to kick your ass online in the near future
I've even noticed that some, if not, most of the segments of this video are one-for-one recreations of the scenes from the opening movies from WWE WrestleMania 2000 and Virtual Pro Wrestling 2.
I do like the similarities but I do hope there's expansions to the gameplay, like having diving grapples instead of moves like diving hurricanranas and blockbusters being set up with corner grapples.

This is the thing I've needed in my life to look forward to, to keep hope for the future alive. In the day I burned up 6 game sharks, 2 n 64s, a copy of WrestleMania 2000 and learned how to add and subtract with letters to fuel my obsession. I spent over 6 months developing over 2 full note books of hand written code for gs. No mercy came out and I became overwhelmed by starting over. I've always kept hope that someone would bring back the best wrestling game simulator ever created.
I was sold on the intro developer logos looking like THQ, AKI and Acemic Ace!!! I see so many animations from the Golden age of wrestling games and I couldn't be more excited. WWE2K has been missing out on this market so for so many years. WWE Allstars should have been this but their loss!! I hope it is HYPER customizable in regards to making wrestlers and venues. Uploading music would be amazing as well but I know copyright comes into play then. The models could use a bit of work but this looks extremely promising. Going to be following this game as much as possible!

Maximum 10. - few storyline for each promotion. Well would apologies if the demands are quite tough😅. But keep on the good work.

This looks so close to the old N64 games, it almost looks like a mod. I thought the video was just trying to replicate the original intros straight, until the MMA ring and stuff started turning up. Really hoping the CAW options will let me relive my WCW Revenge dreams. Look forward to it!
I've been a AKI fan ever since 05 as a five year old. That engine is UNMISTAKABLE!! You know this game gonna be insane when they showed a 4v4 tag match and a mode where you can add your own music!!!
Long time No Mercy player. My requests: Running strikes and running grapples. A button to reverse grapples and a button to reverse strikes. Means the opponent has to guess right what you’re going to do next and can’t mash a single button to reverse. Momentum meter. When you’re in danger you can’t just kick out of a finisher as though you’re not even hurt. Hold down a button to stay ducked after being knocked down so you can hit a rising clothesline or low blow. Momentum meter means you need to start with light grapple moves. Strong grapple moves can be reversed if your opponent is in green and need to be saved for when your own meter is red and the opponent is hurt. As many classic moves from no mercy as possible. Just rip them off. There should be a dramatic moment when someone kicks out if a special with a 2.9 count. Have the wrestler/ref be like OMG. The crowd pop huge etc.
0:34 That taunt looks like a PERFECT reaction of Alex Wright's taunt from WCW/nWo Revenge, the game that got me hooked on the AKI wrestling games. Hopefully this turns out well.

Ultra pro wrestling is the wrestling game I've been waiting for since I was kid. I feel same way as developers and thank you for working on this and making an amazing creative wrestling game. Huge fan and will follow and support the entire journey of this game. I can't wait until this come out in the future. Everything about this game is incredible.

I hope you see this if it's not included already, consider adding directional throw moves like in SvR 2011 (if this game actually has table physics, which I hope), one of the few things those games got right, so even the AI can aim for nearby objects automatically just by rotating the Y axis Wrestling Empire also has that feature and surprisingly AEW Fight Forever doesn't

I've been a AKI fan ever since 05 as a five year old. That engine is UNMISTAKABLE!! You know this game gonna be insane when they showed a 4v4 tag match and a mode where you can add your own music!!!

Why would you want the worst looking and performing version?
Long time No Mercy player. My requests:
Running strikes and running grapples.
A button to reverse grapples and a button to reverse strikes. Means the opponent has to guess right what you’re going to do next and can’t mash a single button to reverse.
Momentum meter. When you’re in danger you can’t just kick out of a finisher as though you’re not even hurt.
Hold down a button to stay ducked after being knocked down so you can hit a rising clothesline or low blow.
Momentum meter means you need to start with light grapple moves. Strong grapple moves can be reversed if your opponent is in green and need to be saved for when your own meter is red and the opponent is hurt.
As many classic moves from no mercy as possible. Just rip them off.
There should be a dramatic moment when someone kicks out if a special with a 2.9 count. Have the wrestler/ref be like OMG. The crowd pop huge etc.

0:34 That taunt looks like a PERFECT reaction of Alex Wright's taunt from WCW/nWo Revenge, the game that got me hooked on the AKI wrestling games. Hopefully this turns out well.

Looks like a N64 game but that's not a bad thing as long as the game is fun to play and the controls are great.It's just awesome so many wrestling games are coming out.
I loved the Asmik/AKI wrestling games on the Nintendo 64 and this title looks inspired by those games. I'm psyched to see more.

Ultra pro wrestling is the wrestling game I've been waiting for since I was kid. I feel same way as developers and thank you for working on this and making an amazing creative wrestling game. Huge fan and will follow and support the entire journey of this game. I can't wait until this come out in the future. Everything about this game is incredible.
Look up AEW fight forever. Some of the people who developed wcw vs nwo revenge, wrestlemania 2k, no mercy and the smackdown vs raw games are making it. This is look like cheaper version of AEW fight forever

This looks more like a DLC for wcw vs. Nwo world tour and I'm not even mad about it. N64 wrestling games were always the best.
We may never get that No Mercy remaster, but this is pretty damn close!

Looking good, but now i know the Aki games didn't have a ref besides the animated one the would pop up but a ref with the special ref animations would feel like an updated aki game.

Common guys theres 197,000 views on here it would be nice if that many people would back this on kickstarter im not saying not everyone on here didnt back it but we know alot didnt yet lets help it get it to that 80,000 pound mark.

if it's not included already, consider adding directional throw moves like in SvR 2011 (if this game actually has table physics, which I hope), one of the few things those games got right, so even the AI can aim for nearby objects automatically just by rotating the Y axis
Wrestling Empire also has that feature and surprisingly AEW Fight Forever doesn't
I hope this game plays exactly like the AKI engine and I hope this game has the replay feature in matches for powerful moves.
As long as the CAW options are good and you can create a wide variety of legends I'm in for sure.
