The reason why it was freezing because what worked for me was, that I opened the console and cleaned it with cd cleaner, i put it back together, and it was working ever since. Give this a try for your next video.
Yeah the game was just broken even when you play it on new consoles it was still broken
NOT so fun fact: This was the 2nd and last game that Studio Gigante put out. Studio Gigante was started by John Tobias, co-creator of Mortal Kombat, and other people who left Midway.
And their first game may have been the most disappointing fighting game of all time

Me and my friend played this at his house a few years ago and it somewhat worked but when it froze, we turned it back on and rhino’s face was on the main menu frozen there.

My older brother actually had WrestleMania 21 (the Platinum Hits re-release) and then gave it to me when I was like 7 or 8 (by that time WWE 2K14 was already out but my brother wasn’t really a big WWE fan as much as before so he wasn’t going to buy that game for his 360 when it came out) anyway turns out the Platinum Hits re-release of the game is actually the patched version of WrestleMania 21, meaning that there were less glitches and freezes so it was great for playing matches and career mode as a kid
I never got the platinum hits version…..Since I already had the broken version I never bought it again
Jakks didn't do anything on the games. They were running a scam.
The gameplay was so buggy but I loved the career mode I thought the story was impressive. My favorite part of the career mode was when evolution beats you up and eric Bishoff has you wrestling different legends to get back on RAW again.

They got Mankind doing a top rope dropkick in the intro lol

I don't like overall numbers because I feel they're very political. I prefer the parameters and fighting style options from the AKI games like No Mercy. Even so... damn they was on some haterade back then.

Hey Kenny, great video. Would you believe, I still have this game and my OG XBOX stored in the closet? LOL. While I agree this game was pretty bad, I have three for me that beat this in the crap department. Do you remember "WWE RAW" for the OG XBOX? UGH that was awful. I also hated "WCW Mayhem", and "WCW Backstage Assault". The graphics and playability, left ALOT to be desired for both.

I liked the gameplay in WM21 thats why I’m not saying it was the worst game…..just very disappointing how everything played out
@@KennyBomb I suggest you give "Mayhem" and "Backstage Assault" a try if you can find them. I was a fan of both companies, and these two games were beyond disappointing. Upon "Backstage Assaults" release, "WWF Smackdown 2" was out and scooped this game up, and flushed it down the toilet-where it belongs.,
Man, off the bat i screamed WrestleMania 21.. game came out in 2005 right after Mania 21, named Mania 21, they hyped up Mania 21 in the career mode only for it to be Mania XX stage, as a kid i didnt understand it, it didnt make any sense why the 21 stage wasnt in the game.. and the way that game would freeze for no reason in the loading screens, having to restart the game 3 to 5 times just to play a single match or 2, i never heard a game's intro so much in my life, the way Anxiety by Black Eyed Peas played in my head when i saw the studio gigantic logo or whatever lol.. it lacked many match types that Raw 2 had, i thought they could only go up after Raw 2 but nope. Not gonna lie, the graphics blew me away and probably still the greatest graphics in a wrestling game and the career mode was good in a way, had their actual voices in the game.. i didnt experience too many broken areas, it was still playable for me after restarting the game about 7 times and rubbing the disc with a cloth as if that would help lol.

Bruh to this day I still don’t understand why WrestleMania 20 was in the game instead of WrestleMania 21 when the title of the game itself….. is WrestleMania 21 😂
I remember watching an episode of Raw back in 2005 leading up to Vengeance when they played a clip of a Hell in a Cell match between HHH and Batista on the game as their way of promoting that year’s main event and I thought the game had look amazing. They even had the titantron playing on the small screen by the curtain which is something you didn’t really see in wrestling games back then. The game really did have potential.
As soon as I saw the title I knew it was Wrestlemania 21
That just shows how bad they dropped the ball with it
In my mind, I was thinking it was either WWE Raw 1, WrestleMania 21 or TNA Impact. I was not disappointed. All my life, I've been a PlayStation gamer. I didn't get my first Xbox console until the 360, or my first Nintendo console until the GameCube.
This makes me so glad I had a PS2 & GameCube when this game came out.
unusual that you showed Benoit and Chavo right beside each other. Chavo states he talked to Benoit hours AFTER Alberta police said Benoit had killed himself. The police botched teh Benoit case.
Wish this video came out in the 2010s I had a working copy. It was good but controls weren't as good/reliable as SmackdownvsRaw series on ps2 I lost a lot of matches even tho I was doing everything right.

Worst wrestling game ever is on PS2 called WWC. This game also has nothing to do with the Colon's company.
Smackdown was nowhere near as good as the N64 games, the gameplay is still unmatched

The good thing about the Xbox back then though is being able to play doom 3 when at the time you needed a crazy powerful pc. I couldn’t believe they were able to port it not long after it released on pc. No other consoles had it. Half life 2 was also ported. Another good thing is that Xbox made a deal with sega to put games that were going to come out on Dreamcast on the Xbox. Another great game that looked so fn realistic to me back then was dead or alive 3. I thought games were never going to look better. It still looks awesome but it’s funny how times change.

Tbh The Wrestling Code styling thier game after HCTP is a BAD call. You can't Style a Simulation game around a Acradey Styled Game it'll ruin the gameplay. They most likely Said that for easy hype

to this day wrestlemania 2000, no mercy, and wcw/nwo revenge are the best wrestling games to date. and i dont think those will ever be topped.

Lots of people share your opinion….SVR 2010 was my Favorite SVR game but HCTP was my favorite overall
All I can say if you havent played the PS2 era games you should they are so much fun, as long as the disc is not cracked or scratched badly you will not have a lot of troubles; PS3 and Gamecube were good but not as good as PS2, same goes for PS4.

You know was crazy I had this game and they were perfectly for me and they never got messed up and even once I went to career more and everything they were perfect for me never gave me problems that's crazy all How you been bro
i believe you had the rare disc that no one else had lol, when you say perfectly, like how long did it take to get into a match? cause it took me a good 30 minutes and 5 resets.

Most disappointing wrestling game? RetroMania Wrestling sucked! All the hype, the delays and broken promises by Retrosoft made this promising game a big dumpster fire. It seems it's now been abandoned. Can anyone let me know if this game has been dumped by Retrosoft?

@@KennyBomb he left Midway during the end of MK Special Forces' production and named it Studio Gigante, acquired by Microsoft. They made 2 games. Tao Feng, which was mixed reception and meh sales and the final game, WrestleMania 21 which a lot of the problems you covered here. Good graphics and presentation but poor gameplay and optimization lead to poor reception and disappointing sales which led to the studio closing and Tobias leaving the industry
i rented this shxt from blockbuster back in 05 when it came out and never returned it. that shxt was fun to me and i never had no problems no freezes so how y’all get fkd up games

I bet if you emulate it, you'll at least get to play a match. This might be the worst WWE game ever but for me, the worst wrestling game to play is Backyard wrestling and backyard wrestling 2. Followed by the TNA and AAA games one console generation later. From what I remember, the backyard wrestling games didn't have a bug problem. They were just boring as hell. Seems like most of the wrestling games that I got many hours of enjoyment out of is the WWE games. I liked a few non WWE games like Rumble Roses, the Fire Pro Wrestling games and this upcoming AEW game looks promising.

Best thing I ever did was trade this game in for Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus which I then traded along with a club soda for Saints Row 1 & 2 at my local game place
