the fact that the future Donphan is basically just a robot makes me think a lot of mons went extinct and people just created robots to mimic their role in the ecosystem

The paradox forms of Donphan are very sad when you think about it. The past version represents how diverse elephants were in ancient times, but the future version represents how today elephants are nearing extinction due to poaching and may not be around in the future. And that’s why it’s a robot, no Donphans in the future.
Rwanda and Tanzania have been successful in cracking down on poaching and elephants are rebounding there. Asian elephants have the highest level of protection in India. So there is hope. 🤞
Also, Donphan is in both games I think, it's just that it used to have a past form and their replicating that in the future with the future cyborg. Much like how the Mammoth went extinct.
Pretty sure the paradox forms are based off of current pokemon but they are just considered different species so it is donphan but it'll have a new name
I think Lore wise they will actually be what Donphan looked like in the past and will look like in the future, but gameplay wise they're standalone pokemon.
Especially since you see a normal Donphan fighting Tyranitar.
if you believe the document that totally doesn't exist, their names are koraidonphan and moraidonphan.
@@sonbaty5932 I think they are standalone Pokemon that are related to Donphan, because thats truer to Real Life. You wouldnt call a modern animal the same as the ancestor they evolved from. The reverse for the future form, obviously.

The site notes that the Donphan are Pokemon from past expeditions, recorded in books. Sounds very much like Legends Arceus.
The two knew Donphan like pokémon are known as Great Tusk and Iron Treads, respectively. They both look great.
Those could be basically codenames for the mons given by the researchers

Making your game choice is as simple as this, you can trade Pokémon and get any version exclusive you want via trading with friends, you can’t change the Pokémon you ride on so I would base my choice on which legendary you want to ride on and see all the time.
Personally for me I want to see koraidan because I love that he runs and swims with his legs
Well some people don't have access to the trading system like myself
youre forgetting a large portion of players who dont have nintendo online which is required for social features like trading, so which game for a lot of players is based on version exclusives
@@mesa8680 which I can understand but whether it be Pokémon home transfer, trading with friends, trading online, terra raid battles, and etc I’m sure it will be possible to get Pokémon from each game, but one thing that doesn’t seem changeable is which legendary you ride on
@@reacreations believe me I understand, I don’t have friends who play to trade with, but one way or another whether it be raids or Pokémon home, or finding someone willing to trade in local or getting Nintendo online and trading that way I’m sure version exclusives are able to be acquired but one thing that isn’t changeable (at least to my current pre release knowledge) is your ride Pokémon for whichever game you choose

I love Donphan. Phanpy is one of my favorite Pokemon, and it's been in my top 3 favorites since I first heard about Pokemon. Seeing these new forms brings me so much joy, and I freaked out when I first saw them

Armarouge and Ceruledge are version exclusives, hence they are trading.

I’m really excited for futuristic and “robotic” seeming pokemon to be a thing and interested if it’ll be explained at all beyond just saying past and future forms
The lore sounds pretty rad, I like the whole research thing we got introduced to in Arceus.
Please please please bring back Road to Ranked!!! The best series ever! There’s a whole new generation now who didn’t get to see it when you first did it and I’m pretty sure everyone would love to see it

I'm so Excited!!! I kinda wished they switched the books in the games! Like you have the book from the past if your in Violet and the book somehow from the future in the Scarlet game. I think that would've been a cool twist.

Futur donphan : ground/electric.
But I advise Violet for ... Reasons.
(New kirlia Evo, fighting/fairy (An archer apparently).
New tyranitar, electric/dark.
New Hydragon, dark/flying.
New Pyrax fire/poison.)
Meanwhile the past forms don't have that very exciting typings (except donphan fighting/ground).

Great tusk and iron treads don't sound like pkmn names to me, they can still be a split evo or ancient/future forms of donphan
Donphan rolls like the description
the past and future concept has been thrown around from the moment the box arts were revealed due to their names (korai = past and mirai = future (yes we have all heard this many times by now) and the lead theory for the lore of the legendaries is that they are past and future versions of Cyclizard, just as these are past and future versions of Donphan. However, all these past and future versions insentivizes (idk if thats how you spell it) co-op gameplay be it multiplayer (the new feature) or through trading (which have a more included role in the series as of X and Y). Also i feel like the names great tusk and iron threads are working tiles and not the full name of the pokemon. not in the sense that it is currently unnamed, but that its a title for a pokemon the in game proffessors don't know about yet, and we players will discover what they really are. also "Great Tusk" and "Iron Threads" sound like the category the pokemons will have in the pokedex, like how Arcanine is the "Legendary" pokemon.

The Scarlett and Violet books sound like Legends games to me, even mentioning an expedition team.

@@shadowfan115 they actually are both. So for today’s reveal they are paradox forms of donphan but they are going to be unique new Pokémon with different names kinda like diglet and wiglet. So they are donphan but they also aren’t at the same time.

They are known as a Paradox Pokemon. Means that these Pokemon are only can be found commonly in alternate timeline or universe that should not exist in our world
I could be wrong about my explaining so take this as a grain of salt
