judging by the wording on the website emphasizing having a picnic with other players, i think this is a secondary way to breed pokemon that only happens when you're with other players. also i LOVE that they're keeping things close to the chest. the biggest problem i had with the series since gen 6 was finding out the entire dex before it came out. finding out things by playing was a big part of the fun

I think it's important to notice that Farigiraf is the first new evolution to an old pokemon without any regional variant since Sylveon. As much as I love regional variants they took away new intergenerational evolutions.

Scyther>Kleavor
Ursaring>Ursaluna
Stantler>Wyrdeer
None of the above were regional variants either

What I love about Farigiraf (that's going to take a while to spell correctly lol), is that supposedly its abilities were noted on the website and they might make it solid.
It is also a Normal/Psychic-type with the abilities Armor Tail which makes Pokémon unable to use Priority moves on it, and Cud Chew, which will eat the held Berry a second time at the end of a turn
*meaning* if it has a solid enough stat spreads, it can shut down mons that abuse Sucker Punch for coverage/priority like Cinderace sid this gen and can use nasty plot on a bulkier set, it might become a sleeper hit and I'm all for it if it and Wyrdeer is one as well! Abilities can and have changed between generations (RIP Shadow Tag Chandelure) so here's to hoping Wyrdeer is in SV and has some similiar busted abilities like Cud Chew!
I kind of hope the egg part of picnic is sort of like the visiting pokemon in the camp in SwSh. So that you get a semi-random wild pokemon egg or something.
I hope so too like oh when you turned around someone thought the picnic basket was a nice looking nest, I don't think it'd be that cool if one of your pokemon laid the egg so I hope that won't be the case
I mean none of the pokemon in that scene can breed together so the egg is just probably something random
I assume the same, because if it’s just random what eggs you find, then it’ll be next to impossible to get any baby form pokemon like Budew or Munchlax (if any of them are actually in the games, of course)
yeah i know some rumors implied that Breeding was removed/replaced
But really we have no evidence of such a thing. All we know is you can find eggs during Picnic time... SwSh had the chance to have some random pokemon show up at your camp (never spent any time doing campingi n SwSh but I assume you were able to recruit them

The pokepelago was a fun idea the chance to get pokemon to join you randomly and such
Clearly that idea became part of camp, and well.... i think the logical improvment is just that instead of some random pokemon walking up to us while we are chilling and going " hey please let me join you" we just find some egg instead.
The only "evidence" that breeding is removed is some leaker said this exists- i dont even think they said this replaced breeding jsut that this was a NEW way to get eggs. Again New way doesn't mean replacement just means new- could be a replacement OR it could be in addition.
pokepelago was a new way to get pokemon- it did NOT replace catching

So yeah this ismost likely jsut some bonus thing.
Yeah I don’t like the idea of breeding Pokémon so I’d be happy if they remade the egg mechanic and anyways shinies are more fun to find.
I love Farigiraf so much he's so silly. Also I sincerely hope the framerate on Sunflora gets fixed because that is not in a release-able state
The last trailer they appeared in they were really smooth so there's a chance that particular footage was from an earlier build or something, it's weird
Watch the Japanese version of this trailer, they look completely fine

@@livingdead4855 I think it might be an old build, since I took a few screenshots to compare the graphics and the graphics in the English trailer look slightly better then they graphics in the Japanese trailer

I assume this will sit alongside breeding and may be a way (depending on the environment) to breed for terra types so you picnic on a mountain for Ice terra, a Forest for bug terra, plains for grass, beach for water, cliff face for rock etc. etc.
In Galar, you could attract Pokémon during curry depending on where you camped. I think this will be a similar concept. Getting rid of breeding altogether doesn’t make much sense because some like babies are so hard to get outside of breeding their adult form with a ditto.
@@awesometastic-1017 if they get rid of breeding as we know it, then whatever mechanics cause these eggs to appear will probably be of similar ease.
there are 18 different types, that would need 18 very different places for each one, its not a bad idea, but doesnt seem that likely
@@youtubewontletme Fields/Grass, Icecaps/Ice, Lakefront/Water, Cave/Dark, Forest edge/Bug, Deep forest/Poison, Cemetery/Ghost, Meadow/Fairy, Clifftop/Flying, Desert/Ground, Town/Normal, City/Electric, Lava area (there must be one underground somewhere, surely)/Fire, Central cenote/Dragon, Rugged and craggy Klawf area/Rock, Industrial area/Steel, Beach/Fighting and Mountain base/Psychic. I believe I’ve got them all
or or or, something like an everstone or a similar item can pass down a parent's teratype. if this is the only way to breed, ill return the game
I love the girafarig evolution! But I'm worried about what happened to the lechonk at the beginning after seeing that the sandwich-making minigame has HAM 🤔

The car looks like it actually has 2 pokemon, the base stage at the back as a single stroke motor with exhaust pipes and the evo that's the front engine.
I like that they kept some of the quality of life additions from PLA
People forget that Girafarig has a BST of 455... this thing is gonna be in the high 500's at least. More HP, Probs better defenses, and better attack stats... maybe not so much speed, or maybe lose some speed because its so big.
the TMM sounds SOOO GOOD! And reducing the random battle time is such a big move. I am so hyped for this Generation.
I like the idea of a TM crafting system too. Will likely add a load of new items to the game for materials, but will mean getting better moves.
Also makes me wonder if a pokemon with a different tera type will be able to learn TMs that the pokemon couldn’t normally learn… like a Torkoal with a water tera type being able to learn Hydro Pump, etc
Finally! I love Girafarig. Wish it had a ghost/normal Regional variant but this is cool.

I LOVE HOW WE WENT FROM CURRY MASTERS FROM THE GALAR REGION TO NOW SANDWICH ARTIST LOL but I don't think they get rid of breeding right that be crazy like especially with shiny hunting how will that work

There will be breeding, the eggs from picnics are just an alternative way to get free and random eggs. Competitive Pokémon requires breeding for hidden abilities, IV’s, etc. and the way Gamefreak has been pushing competitive Pokémon lately just confirms there’s no way they’ll ever get rid of Breeding since it’s the number 1 tool competitive players use to build their teams.

they 100% CAN get rid of standard breeding if they keep doing good stuff like Mints or Bottle Caps (but having to get to Level 100 is really bad) or get rid of IV's entirely and just keep EV's (really, did ANYONE miss IV's in Arceus?)
Eggs should stay but imo it should be similar to Pokémon Go where they are like a small bonus. I hate that you can basically create 100 copies of a rare mon.

Honestly picnic is probably my favorite feature introduced so far. To be able to throw all your Pokemon out and actually interact with them is amazing. It adds so much to the immersion.

Honestly I hope there's more command's besides let's go. But that's very cool thing for quick grinding. That tmm is just a great idea and I'm excited for it. I wonder if the glowing pokemon change what kind and their type every day or if it's set. I haven't been this excited for a pokemon game since sun and moon.
There’s actually 6 new Pokémon 3 of them on the mini map when entering the Grass Gym Leader Town, another in the snowy selfie picture it’s hidden behind the UI Menu, and fInally the pre evolved form of Armorouge and Ceruledge when the player goes into the Team Star Base.
While I don't think your assumption is wrong, I will offer my opinion. What if it's like the curry encounter mechanic and the egg is of a pokemon that can be encountered on the route. If I am right then hopefully breeding is unchanged.

Hey shady , there were 4 new pokemon in total, go back and look at the mini .ap when the player is riding , it showing 3 new pokmon , a rock mushroom. A green bird and a new mouse pokemon
Pretty sure regular breeding will still be in the game but the picnic egg thing being an extra gimmick

its funny when wigglet got revealed my mind instantly went - makes me think of Khezu... thats it maybe i'll do a Monster hunter themed team...
Starter - grass or fire, Grass would be Jade Nargacuga (or a palico) fire would be Aknator or lavasioth depending on final form
Khezu the Wigglet( the idea behind the team)
Bulldrome the Lechonk ( or Poogie the Lechonk... again depending on what it winds up looking like as it evolves)
Kirin the Farigiraf (because giraffes are known as kirins after all)
Still got a couple spots that need filled and MIGHT use Grafaiai naming it after Bishaten or w/e the fruit flinking monkey was in Rise since thats the closest thing to a painter monkey in monhun... but that'd be 3 normal types but hey plenty of possible options to fill the team out more i'm sure.
But the fact that you get materials from defeating and catching pokemon... to craft items... like thats awesome ... sadly it might just be X pokemon only gives 1 type of item- so no rare drops... But hey something to be improved in future games and such. Also totally calling it now... next new game -be it a legends game or just whatever naturally follows Scar/Viol, totally gonna improve on the drops/crafting material concept.
They just knew that pokeball crafting in Arceus woudl be appreciated, and did something similar yet differnet in ScarViol- good move... though i'm sure the fact that it looks like litleos only drop litleo tufts means it'll be a rather simple/flat system- which is great for new players and such.. simple named items simple drop table etc...
But going forward i totally see them doing 2-3 items per pokemon with some being generic- like just normal berries or something

I wouldn't call what Koraidon has "wheels"; they seem to be more like floatation sacs, similar to Buizel and Floatzel.
it would be cool if the "Let's go!" command has a fight mode or friend mode, like you either battle wild pokemon for exp or make friends with wild pokemon to get its held items with peace
Bisharp will also be getting an evolution, which means bisharp can run Eviolite and that sounds terrifying
I think they learned from past generations lol not revealing as much up until things get mad close to dropping :) keeps it a surprise and everyone on their toes

There are a couple hidden pokemon potentially shown in various parts, but its not much. Mostly a few showed up in the minimap that might be a thing.
You dont have to have a full party of pokemon so just bring the 2 you want

Regarding the mount revealed so far. I’m kind of surprised we have set to even see a hint of the starters evolutions. I was really hoping when the quaxly was fighting while at level 15 that we would be seeing the second stages today.
I mean out of all the games, only one gen revealed middle evos before release, people equate datamine with reveal, most of the time, they reveal the starters after the games release.

there were 3 other pokemon shown in the radar when they were showing the 7:17-7:20

Shady you missed so many new Pokémon in the trailer. There was another Pokémon that made up the rear axel of Team Star’s Star Mobile, a bunch of new Pokémon on the mini map in one scene (a mouse, parrot, and rock salt Pokémon), and during the Paldean Wooper selfie there was another new Pokémon hidden behind the controls list on the left hand side. So 5 more new mon in total.

Farigiraf is amazing and I love him so much. I have confused feelings about the picnic in terms of breeding, also with Sandwich Mama it mentions ham...RUN LECHONK, RUUUUN
the picnic stuff looks more like what they have been doing, so doesn't have to do with breeding, it is just an egg that has been left there you can grab, similar to how in like SwSh camps, a pokemon could appear because it was attracted by your curry.
Eggs in picnics might just be the equivalent of the curry pokemon who could show up. I don't think it necessarily replaces breeding.

1 I hope the picnic doesn't replace breeding n is just ANOTHER method to get eggs if it is the case they need to add normal breeding back in for free in dlc
