Thank you Janice I have a short leg from years of limping because of the pain in my hip, which was caused by a hit n run accident in 1983..I have a titanium hip replacement in my left hip which went b cause I was always relient on that side,my right side fema was smashed and could not be fixed ..I am 71years and now the experts say it maybe can be fixed but I don't want to have a another hip replacement and have been trying to just excersize,I do balance twice a week and soft circuit excersize twice a week ,it's painful but I stick to it ,I hope n pray that Qiqok will be good for me ,bless you Janice.🙏
That's great that you are taking such a proactive approach Mary. If you want to try a couple of other routines they are in the links below but please take care not to over stretch and never go into any pain with any of the movements. You are only looking for enough to feel something happening but remember the focus of your breath and mind are just as important as the physical movement. spacetorelax.com/qigong-for-groin-flexibility-and-hip-opening/ spacetorelax.com/lesson-78-qigong-for-tight-hips-back-replay-of-live-zoom-class/
I ‘ look ‘ at the pain ( rather than trying to ignore or distance myself from it. ) No, it’s my pain - there’s no denying it - it’s part of me. Then as I breath - I ‘ breath through ‘ the pain - inhaling and exhaling through the pain. My goal is not to lessen the pain - I don’t have any goals. I just accept it. But oddly I find that often the pain does lessen, probably because I’m not trying to make anything happen. That’s been my experience anyway, perhaps this will help others. Or perhaps others will share additional techniques that have helped them. Blessings 🙏
Helped me straight away from one go! This lockdown, sit down marking I'm doing as a teacher for hours a day is not great for hips but your video was. Thank you.
You are very welcome Mrs. Shuttleworth. I qualified as a teacher years ago so have the utmost admiration and respect for how hard you work! I'd delighted you found this video helpful. To sign up for my live classes please click this link (and if you can't make them the replays are up on my website the day after so you can follow along in your own time): spacetorelax.com/qigong-online-class/. Best wishes, Janice.
Just tried this exercise for first time and it has relieved nagging pain in front of hip joint right away. I am just trying Qi Gong for first time also, as an alternative to flogging along with the usual 'physio' exercises as an attempt to discover some balance and calm. Thanks!
I’m delighted for you. Please take a look at my other videos here in this channel and let he know if you’d like me to point you in the direction of any specific topics. 😀
You're very welcome Julie. Just go easy with it, listen to your body, and don't ever move into pain. This is a lovely exercise and I hope it helps you. Best wishes, Janice. :-)
Hi Gonzalo. I'm delighted you found this useful. If you have any questions about Qigong please join my free group on Facebook and I'll be happy to help you. Warmest wishes, Janice. facebook.com/groups/janicetuckercourses/
I hurt my lower back doing Deadlifts and was having trouble finding mobility excercices for that section of the spine. Felt everything come loose with just a handful of rotations. thanks.
Hi Janice, I appreciate your instructions very much. I am a very active person, in late 60-s, but when I walk as a form of exercise, after 2,000 steps my left hip starts hurting. My xray show that I have mild arthritis and mild osthepenia. Do you believe that in my case your Qigong exercises can still be helpful?
Hi Seta, Thank you and I'm glad you are finding my videos interesting. Great that you are still exercising. Yes, the Qigong exercises can still be helpful for you as they are gentle but will still create the conditions for free flow of Qi and blood. However please listen to your body and don't do anything that causes you pain. You are very welcome to join my free classes live on Zoom every Thursday with replays sent out by email if you can't make it. I hope you can join us. Here is the link: spacetorelax.com/qigong-online-class/. Best wishes, Janice.
Bonjour Jean-Paul, Je suis desole qu'il y a beaucoup trop de blaba de parole pour vous. J'explique toujours le theorie medicale pour Qigong debutantes. J'espere que vous comprenez. Janice.
Hi Sid, I have't spoken French for a long time but thought I'd give it a go to reply in French and hope that Jean-Paul can understand. I'm sure there are some grammatical errors in there somewhere but I'm all about imperfect action! :-)
@@JaniceSpaceToRelaxQigong As your videos are likely to be watched in many countries might you be able to have the “cc” captions available in a few other language options? I’ve seen a few YT videos where clicking on “cc” box at top right brings up a list of choices.
@@lindaj5492, thank you so much for that. I just did some research and it's easy to select from many languages once you know how. Just 5 clicks to get subtitles in the language of your choice. Go to the settings button along the bottom of the video screen and click on “Subtitles”, then “Auto-translate” then select from a list of languages. Subtitles will then appear for that video. I’m not sure how good the translation is but hopefully it’s not too bad. Best wishes, Janice.
Qigong is all about manipulating energy through movements. This is just an exercise without any qigong movements involved while the given exercise may improve hip pain but definitely it is not qigong.
Thank you for commenting although I'd have to disagree I'm afraid Padma. Qigong is about creating the conditions for free and open flow of Qi through movement, mind and breath. A combination of all three is involved, although Qigong can be practiced without movement of the physical body (apart from the movement of the breath). I'm simply sharing the Qigong my professors in China at the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Guangzhou shared with me. That is the Qigong I know. Best wishes, Janice.
Try making the movements so small they are almost microscopic and instead use your mind and breath to lead the Qi into the hip. Where the Qi goes, the blood (and nourishment) follows. Wishing you well. Janice.

@@JaniceSpaceToRelaxQigong wonderful - I will definitely have a look at those - I'm seizing up as it stands at the moment.
Yes, you'll definitely benefit from regular breaks to get up and move around as long periods of sitting can make the hips tight.

Treatment for Hip pain and ocupressure points, Madam.
Definitely acupuncture, a good physiotherapist and stretching/exercise as shown to you by a qualified professional. Wishing you a speedy recovery. 🙂
And a visit to your doctor to check whether you need any X-rays or scans to determine if there is any structural wear and tear or damage.

She explains clearly that this exercise is part of the well-known Eight Brocades qigong sequence.
Spiritual meaning of Hip pain has to do with making decisions and moving forward…❤️🩹🙏🏽
Too much pain to do exercises.Osteoartrithis of the hip and femural necrosis.Only surgery i think will solve the problem.
