I’ve never had an issue with the Tur honestly, but I started Rank II of the French Tree with it being at 2.7. Even still, angled properly and it is a nightmare, especially to those who go for the hull. If you pair it with the 2Cs you become the most annoying sandbag in the French fleet. 1.0 light tanks are still the best heavy tanks in the French tech tree.
So far, I think my favorite heavy tank is the Tiger 2 10.5 cm kwk. It has a pretty good gun, decent armor, and much better mobility than other Tigers. I'm glad I was able to snag it before it was removed.

The French ARL-44 (ACL-1) is an extremely underrated mid-tier heavy tank. With great gun depression, moderately fast mobility, well angled armor, and a 75mm gun that can penetrate most armor at its battle rating, this heavy is a great choice for any French tree user.
I love heavy tanks, especially things like the churchills and the Excelsior. The only reason I’m not a fan of most other classes is because of their mediocre armour, something about just slowly moving in deflecting shots and destroying everything is really relaxing to me and gives me a break from other playstyles
I am not a fan of heavy tanks, but I do enjoy playing a few of them. The ARL-44 ACL-1 and the base ARL-44 can tank a lot of shots while offering a punch that is arguably better than other mediums of its BR. The TOG II as well, that is enough said. Lastly the T26E5 has extremely good potentials in a downtier thanks to its armor and relatively small weakspots. Anywhere higher I might not enjoy them, but rather be at the giving end of the battle between HEAT and RHA armor.
While it doesnt have heavy tank armor, the AMX50 Surbaisse is extremely impressive in my opinion with its good mobility and excellent firepower at its tier. The 6 second autoloader really makes it shine for the caliber of gun it's got.
it is a very good tank where it sits and a decent player can hold his own against most aggressors in a full uptier. Many people who play it are not decent.
I have some buddies who I terrorized with both the Jagdtiger and the Tiger ll when they played 6.7 USA (especially the Jagdtiger) as they couldn't figure out how to kill me. I stopped for a few hours and put myself in various situations som le that were favorable to me and some that were favorable to them and helped them figure out how to kill Tiger ll's as well as IS-2's (especially the Cheeky ones that drive at you in reverse). Having been on both sides I have more fun making super Pershing players realize I know how to use the Tiger ll and that I know what their weak spots are
im not sure why they didnt put the L3 on the video! it's the most well armored with a 125mm cannon and a 613mm of penetration and a 3 seconds reload. How could they missed that!
the is-6 is easily one of my favourite tanks out there, drives like a medium tank and has the gun of a heavy. the looks of it also really good in my opinion.
I love the KV 2 1940, you can kill everyone while having a turret that sometimes can take alot of hits and it feels awsome to kill enemys with a 152mm HE shell
best heavy tank has to be the Churchill crocodile. any British main worth their tea will agree as it is great fun to play. and when you get a flame thrower kill, no other tank compares to that feeling
In all honesty, the tiger 1 is my favorite heavy tank by far. Best mobility of all vehicles of a similar weight, overwhelming pist pen damage, and Ofcourse pretty decent armour.

It's funny how modern Russian tanks are at an absolute disadvantage to Western tanks in reality, but in War Thunder they're completely superior, just like in a fantasy world. You can see where the WT developers are coming from.
Not sure why any Limey tank is here but if you were going to use one, A43 Black Prince can take more punishment than Caernarvon, which is basically a bigger Centurion 3, can.
I will always love the Tiger 2 especially the Sla.16 variant, but the Soviets have one of the most broken heavies in WT so the Soviets get first place and Germany is in 2nd
My favorite is PT-76; good firepower and penentration with good ammo as well as good speed. Only down sides are that the armor is not that great (still fine) and the fact that it can't shoot more lower then something like -5 degrees.
I would so far say the King Tiger is a very nice tank for newbies and vets alike.. its got very nice combinations of fire-power Armour and Speed.. it's a very nice stop along the tech tree
WW2 mode is basically just RB br 2.3-4.3 and simulator Unfortunately a lot of tanks ans planes are not exclusive to ww2. Some tanks only partially took part in ww2 and are considered cold war tank And some were modernized . Same with planes. For example, the t-55 was designed in ww2, first tested just after ww2 and then modernized upto the end of the cold war.

Heavy tanks are the funniest vehicles for me! Sadly in some BR HEAT sligers completely cut that fan, even in really low BRs you can find modern vehicles with HEATFS. B1 Bis and B1 Ter were some of the funniest heavy tanks, now with APDS in 1.0 and fighting 3.3 vehicles most of the time their armor doesn't work well, and that's the whole point of B1s. 😢

Map rotation is nonexistent in WT. The community is absolutely sick of nonexistent Map rotation! When ppl come to general chat and complain, you know you got a problem. Open all maps for ALL BATTLES! Nobody wants to play the same map several times in a row!
The American T34 heavy tank is a beast. At a BR where other Ametican tanks stuggle to penetrate german and soviet armor, the T34 spits on them. Its armor, like its gun, is very good. Not T32 good, but adequate. The only real downsides is its low speed and egregious reload time.
The Tiger II is very good but the matchmaking just sends in some Cold War american tanks that pierce it even when it‘s angled and trough the thick armor at the turret front.
There is no such thing as a good heavy tank in warthunder anymore considering how many modern vehicles are at the same battle ratings that have heat and then the mobility will always out perform a heavy tank. I swear to god at 6.0 - 6.7 is just light tank battles the whole time and the few people who are in heavy tanks are outshined instantly.

T26E5 is an amazing tank tbh. Carried me thru out must of the tier.
My favorite is the M109 family. Very survivable, no armor is best armor and bonks even the most modern tanks easily

Surprisingly the king tiger offense a smooth ride so you can fire on the move

Soviet heavies arent really broken they have a massive amout of protection against convencional rounds but they lack a bit in firepower...
A big tip is to play the t1e1 as a medium with unreliable armour, everything will pen you but you can pen everything

IS-7, E-100, Object 279, TOG II and Maus are the most survivable heavy tanks in the game (by my experience)
KV-1E and KV-1B, i had different thoughts even if they are very similar tanks, i've seen the KV-1B survive bombs so it might be very ''tanky''.
