Super-Heavy Tanks of 20th Century
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 9 апр 2024
- In the first half of the 20th century, there wasn’t a single dominant tank layout that everybody used, like it happens nowadays with modern MBTs. It was a Wild West of experimentation and trial and error, with engineers coming up with all sorts of interesting and sometimes seemingly impractical ideas to adapt armored vehicles to different battlefield conditions. One of those ideas was to create a “landship”, a super-heavy combat vehicle capable of breaking through heavily fortified areas like the Maginot Line or the Siegfried Line.

Me when my advancing super heavy tank maus (1945) has to fight Vidar (2019) with thermal and laser rangefinder 3km away:
@@IlllIlIlIIlllabsolutely braindead take
@@IlllIlIlIIlll main problem: vidar ain't uptier
Simply a case of superior South Korean technology. We were so advanced during and before WW2 that the exiled Korean government was able to make a time-machine and bring a fully operational K9 Thunder into the European theatre as war support for the allies. The only reason why you don't hear about this in the history books is because of the dirty Japanese who want to erase all evidence of Korean superiority in engineering and simply being better.
@@guhmachine how? It's just necessary when bridging the gap between WW2 vehicles and cold war vehicles. And even that doesn't really matter when you have things like the ystevark, r3 and Leo 40/70 at under 6.0
While maus cannot go any lower, VIDAR certainly can go 9.0 and still kill anything except heaviest tanks like object 279.
Still it's crazy that u can face VIDAR with T44-100💀
"What do you think of super heavy tanks" I think you should make a re run of past events so that 99% of the community can actually obtain them.
I know right you can only play 3-4 of the tanks mentioned in the video out of the 10-12 they mentioned
@@Jackahoo2 Quite literally, more heavy tanks are premium than tech tree, both in the video and in game. E100, IS7, object 279, tog 2...etc. Some of which are completely unobtainable.
@@danielzaba9913 unless you pay hundreds of dollars they are
To clarify; The IS-7 was not produced in significant numbers due to it being simply too costly. Weight was not a problem with this tank as it was originally designed with it in mind- Reinforced tracks, suspension and one of the most powerful diesel engines ever fitted in an armoured vehicle.
Why discard such an amazing war machine? Well the soviets found out you could produce something around 2-5 T-54 medium tanks for one such behemoth.

don't forget about the outstanding T-10M, which was seen in the Yom Kippur war which some prob knocked out some M48s
its a great and perfectly balanced Heavy tank similar to the IS-4M and IS-7
and another fun fact is that during the soviet era of stalin it was originally named IS-8 but due to politics its official name is the T-10M
Neither the T-10M/IS-4M are balanced. Both are among the weakest vehicles at their BR.
why is the O-I Japanese super heavy tank not in the game? since 1 piece of it has been completed, and even if it was not completely completed, it could still be submitted, since the E-100 was not completely completed either

Is it possible that the PS4 version of the game will soon have options like custom gun sights and skins? By connecting the account to a computer you could then enable this like with the computer version.
No because sony won't let those things exist on console
Custom sights requires you to edit the game files so i dont think it will come to console
Yeah, it's not just about connecting your account. You have to download the files open the game generate the folder with an in-game menu then go into the game files and place your sights there and then refresh it. Alternatively if you already have sights in folders with the correct names you can just place them in the game files. Either way, that's not likely to be something you can do very easily on console.

"Are now avalabe in war thunder" yea right the E-100, IS-7, and ObJ 279 all go for at least 600$ each.
Gaijin should make the custom battles to where the enemy br does not effect your br
6:53 "Nevertheless, most of the super heavy tanks that actually made it into production are now available in WT". Guess we were lied to cause they say in the video that the E100 made it to the production and they are available in the game. Even though the only thing that's ever been put out for pictures was a E100 hull that wasn't even close to being done. Thought it said However it never went into production and it was a single chassis partial prototype that was made at the end of the war but maybe they threw one past us
I wish that tanks such as the IS-7 and the E-100 could be available to all the players once a year for about a week, of course only if the player has the required vehicle rank already unlocked.
War thunder teased the SAM rooikat but never actually released it, reason being because it never made it past the prototype stage. Pretty hypocritical when you think about stuff like the Ho-Ri Prototype, which they added yet it was very literally just a wooden mock-up
Would love to see the Lowë and the O-I in the game at some point. I’m sure the Lowë would cause some uproar but there’s a decent argument to made for the O-I to be in the game
Man, I wish I could have the Is-7... I'll never not feel bad for missing out on that event. I get a rare vehicle is supposed to be rare. Still, I do wish there was a way for old players to try and get these vehicles that didn't require paying the cost of a car or opening an SL box where you can actually lose (I don't mean you get a bad reward like wager or order... but you lose by getting less SL out of it than it took to open it). I wish WarThunder would do more small events like the 10th anniversary, where they brought back multiple rare, obscure vehicles for players to grind.
Was that a universal carrier during the TOG segment, I hope we get variants of it
In air rb plase disable base aa when there is only 1 player left. Because they can circle at their base and waste time, we can't approach them because of aa.

Off topic subject but can you make an option where we can take the side skirts off some vehicles, like the stug iii g?
My friend is a very big fan of his French 10 meter beater
Hey, so I just heard about the new damage model mechanic. Pls either modify it to make it less RNG WoT like or remove it all together. I think what should stay is adding things like batteries and concussion to crew but what I think the result of those being damaged should just be the electrical components needing to be replaced or repared and crew just basicly being disabled for 3 or so seconds, make the gunner sight black or blurry because the gunner hit his head, make everything happen slower if the commander is hurt because he isn’t giving orders so no one knows what to do, add the sound of a shell falling on the floor if the loader is hurt and pause a reload for 3 or 5 seconds, make the tank stop or turn suddenly if the driver gets hurt, but pls don’t make anything like the random turret sway. Honestly, making it so the optics are shattered for the gunner would be better. Skilled players could still defend themselves but it’s very hard. Other crew members could have a 10% skill nerf if their optic is destroyed, like if the drives optic is destroyed or damaged, things like turning or keeping the tank strait are a little bit nerfed, or if the commander optics are destroyed, everyone except the gunner has a 20% nerf. Do something like this instead of random stun and turret sway, and don’t make the crew clothing set fire. Just don’t.
One Vehicle I Personally would love to see would be the Panzer VII Lowe (Lion) With it being similar to the Tiger 2 105 except it was actually a completed prototype. Would be cool to have at like 7.7 or something as it's a very unique vehicle.
No Löwe were ever completed though

Correction: the IS-7 was not adopted because since the Cold War had started the Soviets thought that it would've been better to have many lighter and cheaper tanks such as the T-34 and T-44 rather than some heavy and expensive tanks, because in case they were nuked the losses would have been lower

@@5co756 some nations received paper tanks to fill up the gap that are still present in the tech tree
@@Kalashnikov413 They need new stuff to keep the show running , at some point they will add such paper tanks . Just watch ....
@@5co756 perhaps yes, but that would take too much of a time for it to happened occationally, since there are still tons of production, prototypes, and experimental vehicles from different nations of all three era
Add the tiger 105 panther 2 and the coelien back since warthunder added more russian blueprint tanks
The Maus was blown up by the Germans before the end of the war they did not remain intact
Add the Finnish BMP-2MD and Folland Gnat to the game.
is this an allusion of the next event tank?
Make the objekt 279 and e-100 obtainabel as an event like maus. And give us the T110 Heavy tank and USSR Objekt 277,770
Attack the D point!
hope e-100 comeback somedays
Maus was an absolute UNIT of a tank
FCM F1 needs to be added
Heavy tanks should be made again...
we need the american superheavy, the Mark VIII international, the ww1 landship :)
It’s in Britain’s tech tree iirc, known as Liberty
Nothing is heavier rhan the gas you carry when playing air battles 💀
Id piss myself if they ever dropped the maus down to 7.3 xD
The E100 had its own turret and didnt use the Maus turret
I think, There should be another event, where we can earn the IS7, I missed it, because I play on Xbox.
Tutel
What am I seeing? People? Is this something that could come to WT? Like tanks with troop compartments that could capture stuff would be awesome!
I do believe these are custom hangers of sorts,if not custom maps with said infantry saying how the engine is on
that's basically enlisted, if you want infantry go play that
Soviet : we have starliniam no weight needed to sacrifice
We need basement guy voice reveal
my opinion on super heavy tanks? i think my opinion is...
i want one
PLEASE give us an opportunity to get the 279! even if it was a painful grind behind a pay wall I would grind it
you can open the box which currently in the game with silver lion it has like 0.01% that you will get obj 279

5:51 More like Krupp's Tiger Maus than E100, cause E100 is a seperate development that had no involvement with Krupp other than its design. (It was fokin stolen by some officer and gave the design for Adler to build as part of the E-Series. So, E100 is somewhat of a continuation of Krupp's Tiger Maus whilst being a whole different tank development.)
Yes, there's a Tiger Maus and its not as well known as its Porche Maus cousin. No, E100 isn't a competitor to Porche's Maus, that title Belongs to Krupp's Tiger Maus, and no, the E100 in War Thunder isn't accurate. The most accurate is World of Tanks's E100, cause the Maus Turm was obsolete by '44 and was more likely going to use a Maus 2 turm (Yes there was a planned second version of porche maus).
My fokin source? Tank Encyclopedia and Cone of Arc. Basically War Thunder's E100 is more like a close accurate depiction of what Krupp's Tiger Maus Would've looked like had it been built instead of porche's rather than a close depiction of E100.
I dont fokin know why they chose a maus turm, prolly cause they don't wanna be affiliated with world of tanks or maybe another victim of common misconception.
ADD THE O-I SERIES TANKS PLEASE
Why don't you guys make all these super heavies available to obtain???
Exactly what I was thinking when they said “they are now available” with a $80 price tag
@@firedfuel3553 even 80 is undercutting it. E-100 and IS-7 arent even available and even when they are they are $2000, Object 279 is $600 and the maus is only obtainable once a year. TOG II is impossible to get now unless you did the event
@@koolhoven6342well depending on what “available to get” is specifically meaning, the maus and 2C (75mm),and T-95 (which idk if that counts)are available
“Of the 20th century”
Has any other decade even produced super heavy tanks?
I would love to get the Maus, will it come back?
The is7 not going in to production has nothing to do with weight
