    //FAQs??
    -How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?
    This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4x4 or 5x5.
    This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
    -How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc' blanket?
    Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.

      You're welcome, I'm happy to hear my videos have helped you 😊 If you want to add straight edges to the top and bottom, you need to work a round using stitches of different heights - if you work double crochet stitches (UK terms) on the top parts and then treble crochet stitches in the 'dips' this will straighten it out for you.

    For anyone with 5 stitches left at the end, once you get past the row where you skip a loop on the hook, your new stitch number will be one less. It's multiples of 8, plus 5, to account for that first skipped loop. Then, it is 8 plus 4, so that the number is divisible by 4, which is the number of stitches each hill and valley so to speak, uses. My starting chain was 109, and the number of stitches I count in each row as I go along when I check my work is 108. Hope this makes sense as to why some of us were winding up with 5 stitches at the end of the rows!

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  3 года назад +2

      It can be fiddly working into the back loops only until you get the hang of it; I would have a look at the hook you are using as some hooks are pointier at the tip whereas some are more flat and rounded. If you are using the flat and rounded type this can make it harder to get into the loops 😊

      I would go back over your row and recount your stitches, and make sure you have the correct number of half trebles and slip stitches 😊 Remember you should be working your first slip stitch into the second chain from the hook. The written instructions are available over on my website here: bellacococrochet.com/almond-ridges/

    I must be doing something wrong in the beginning-with multiples of 8 and 5 for turning, i am only able to finish row one with 3 slip stitches, not 4. Help!!

      Have you made sure you're starting in the correct chain? You should start off by making a slip stitch into the second chain from the hook. You can also use stitch markers to mark every ten stitches or so, to make sure you're not missing any along the way 😊

    This time I ended up with 2 few in the foundation chain, what the heck. I counted 29 as well

      I would go back over the row and double check that you’ve made the correct number of each stitch. Remember you should be making your first stitch into the second chain from the hook. The written instructions are over on my website here too: bellacococrochet.com/almond-ridges/ 😊
