Honestly anyone who uses their time on the internet to look at my ugly face deserves some recognition You most of all my dear friend! Thank you for the support as usual but especially for putting up with my incoherent rambling :D
this is so sick mate!! your channel is gonna blow up. not only are you ridiculously talented but you have an in depth knowledge of the theory and seem comfortable and confident speaking on video which is harder than people realise. yes joão!
My man you don't know how much this comment means to me, I was so insecure about doing this video so I'm super happy you think it's good and that I seem comfortable on camera. It really means a lot, thank you so much Tobias ❤
This community needed a better class of music theory/covers for this kind of music. Maybe I just don't know many RUclips channels that have this level of quality and professionalism but I'm super impressed with your "product" for lack of a better word. If you're open to it I'd like to talk to you further about this sort of stuff in a closed forum. I'm getting into production and I'd like to share my story with you, and possibly collaborate.
10:45 Olly is most proud of this one! I took a video lesson with him before the album dropped and he played it with ease. This is a great video bro! New sub.
Amazing analysis! Tip 3 stood out the most to me because it's something I never thought about, and John Browne actually mentioned the same thing in his masterclass posted to the Tone Zone channel. Also, Celeste is the best song I've heard in such a long time. The way you broke down those riffs made me appreciate it even more, my ear would've never been able to figure all that out. I hope your channel sees a lot more growth really soon, your approach to covers and videos is better than all the other guitar channels I watch on here. The time and energy you spend on your content really shows, hope to see more from you!
Woah a free John Browne masterclass on RUclips? I need to get on that 😍 It's such a great song! I'm so happy my explanation made some sense to you You're the best my friend, thank you so much for the kind words! More content always coming ;)
John Browne has so much to say about how to take an idea and continuously evolve it and build off of it to make a full song that is cohesive and memorable. He really has such a deep understanding of songwriting and composition. You can feel it just from listening to the music.
Commenting ahead of finishing the video; This is all so useful! Awesomely fast output and accuracy. I loved every riff on the album, but I have to give it to 'The Watch's' end riff is just perfect, 100%. Fits and ends everything so well.
Thank you so much for the kind words my friend! I'm glad you appreciate the longer format. Definitely the most memorable riff right? Not the best, not the coolest, just the most memorable!
Thank you to death really, I was super insecure thinking people would hate this and think I'm just rambling incoherently! Happy to have you as my audience man, really really aprecciate it :)
João Medeiros yes, was a good night. The guys were great. Nice to discuss Chimp Spanner music with Dan the drummer and Gojira chops with Olly before the gig.
9:05 Synopsis of the whole album XD. No seriously, The Watch riff has definitely some inspiration off of Gojira, the simplistic yet effective riff plus those string scrapes really remind me of them.
T H I C C N E S S B O I Browne hinted at "The Axe" from L'Enfante Sauvage, and after listening to it yeah the influence is clear! Thank you for being the real OG and watcinh all the way my friend, really aprecciate it ❤
Youre just incredible. Your helping me further understand whats going on beneath the music i like the most. Olly steele and john browne are obviously a huge inspiration for you. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
honestly, i had never noticed that the rhythm in the chorus of Leviathan repeated in the breakdown. such a cool little trick to keep a song consistent, while still having individual parts. also, your videos are just way too good. so excited for some more videos, and to learn some more Monuments songs (because all i know is I, the Creator haha)
Was a big AHA moment when I noticed too, really took me a while! Thank you for the kind words as usual Dumi! Actually almost all 5 of these tips are in I, The Creator! It's such a quintessential Monuments song really 😍
Absolutely! Did you know the only part that remained constant through all the versions was the crazy break in the middle + the breakdown after? I thought it would have been something like the intro, but then Browne said that was the last part to be written! Crazy if you ask me
@@joaoldmedeiros wow, that's funny. i had no idea that the middle section of all things was the thing to never change. it is a really awesome section, but the intro would've definitely been my guess
