Im learning this song based on your tabs and video because it´s my favourite of the album and I gotta say, it´s damn hard. Hey man! I know this sounds really simple, but I'm having troubles with muting the chords and transitioning to the arpeggiated notes in the opening riff. Do you have any tips to get that muting down?
Hey Alex! Try using your left hand's middle finger (you can see me do it here), or your right hand palm. Or definitely a combination of both if one alone does not give you all the necessary muting!
@@joaoldmedeiros Cheers! I've been trying to mute with the palm of my right hand. I have no idea why I didn't think to use my left. Duh! Thanks again. I hope you have a great day.
Thank you Shakthivel! To get this tone get yourself some medium output humbuckers to start with. Then in Bias load up the "RB101" (I think that's what it's called) and switch the cabinet to the 4x12 Vintage30. Boost with your favourite tube screamer before the amp and that should be a very similar tone to this one ;)
Hello man! Not what you might think of actually, because it's all on classical guitar. That's what I'm studying at university and that's where I put in the work in terms of practice and technique! I'll work on whatever feels lacking at the moment, so hammer-ons and pull-offs one day, left-hand extensions the other, right hand technique another. It's never set in stone! Thank you for the question :)
@@joaoldmedeiros glad to hear that, i love classical guitar as well. played on my hagstrom ultra suede for the past 1.5 years, but i just recently picked up my classical guitar again, and playing the etudes simples / dance of the miller from brouwer really fulfilled me. i know this channel is meant for releasing metal tracks and you're probably very busy, but just out of curiousity: could you upload a cover of the suite espanole: asturias, when you've got some time left to inspire a young padawan? :D good luck at university, these teachers are soon ready to be taught! ;)
My friend I wish RUclips had some kind of way to share pictures in the comments, I'd send you a picture of the Browuer sonata N.1 I'm just now studying. Brouwer is so inspiring to me too, I really understand you! I've never played the Asturias though! But I'm honestly thinking about uploading Brouwer's sonata in here someday, it's not too far off the taste of some metalheads ahahahaha!!! Really enjoyed knowing you're into classical guitar too :D
I try hard to keep it as short as possible so I can post the video when it's most relevant, as I am trying to build an audience. But yes I could spend all the time I want on these songs and keep finding new stuff :D
I know I know, I pussied out and pick scraped it, I'm so sorry :'( If you can still give me a chance, there's a lot more Monuments in my channel for you to check out and allow me to redeem myself :)

Maybe I’m not cut out for guitar. Everyone seems to catch on so quick. No matter how much I practice and try to learn stuff for this style of playing I can’t get it.
Don't speak like that Emmanuel! These songs are not easy, and with time you WILL get better, I promise :) There's different covers with tabs on my channel if you want to try some easier songs!
The fender is all stock so pickups are some whatever humbuckers with medium-low output. Strings are Ernie Ball 10-52, the software amp is Bias AMP, modelling what I believe to be a cranked Vox amp mic'ed with a 57 on a Vintage30. Boosted with the TSE808 pedal emulation! Hope this helps

Hey man! thank you so much. Ive covered Stygian blue using Amplitube, which is in my channel. Check it out maybe?
Just watched it! You got a great tone too, plus you got reposted by Browne on Instagram??? That's amazing 😍
João Medeiros Thanks man. Also, whats the tempo?
I'm away for the weekend so I can't check! Remind me again on Monday ;)
Hey, pretty general question: what does your bread and butter Training session on the guitar look like ?
good luck at university, these teachers are soon ready to be taught!
So is this tuning just near Drop C on a 6 string'?
Yes, basically Drop C but with the highest 2 strings down a whole tone!
Do you figure all these songs out by ear or is their a tab site with Monument songs?
All by ear my friend! Waiting for Monuments to put up tabs for sale so I can check my covers against them ;)
@@joaoldmedeiros Nice must take a lot of time...
I try hard to keep it as short as possible so I can post the video when it's most relevant, as I am trying to build an audience. But yes I could spend all the time I want on these songs and keep finding new stuff :D
@@joaoldmedeiros You should do a recording tutorial on how you get your tone and how you record.
Absolutely on my to-do list, be sure to subscribe to know when it happens :)
Yo brother where did u get the backtrack? Do u have for share by any chance?
Really good bro, However 2.56 is traditionally played using a knife and fork, I've enjoyed all your covers good skills
I know I know, I pussied out and pick scraped it, I'm so sorry :'(
If you can still give me a chance, there's a lot more Monuments in my channel for you to check out and allow me to redeem myself :)
You played the part just before the breakdown slightly wrong, the scrape MUST be done with a knife and fork :^)
JK man, fucking amazing cover and with such speed as well! How the hell did you manage to figure it out and learn it in less than 2 days?!
I was thinking about doing it too for the lulz ahaha!
I just have lots of practice and consequently a good ear, also looking at the studio update videos like you mentioned really helps. Thank you for watching and consider subscribing to see the rest of the songs! ;)
Subscribed for sure, can't wait to see Vanta, that's probably my favourite right now!
Thank you so so much! I love Vanta too, that's gonna be a real fun one :D
Dude... are those stock pickups?
yep, all stock my man 😊
Brabo
Thank you!!!
Can't find a live recording of them playing this
No cutlery, disappointed. But exceptional cover and playing as always!
:(
:)
Could you share the stems?! I’d love a shot to mix this for fun!
Thank you Joe! I don't have an organized way to share stems yet, but I might set it up at some point in the future of the channel.
For now, can't do it man, sorry! Thanks for dropping a comment though, always appreciated :)
Any chance you can share the .gp5 or .gpx file of the tab?
I did these bois in Tux Guitar cuz I'm poor ahaha, I don't even know what file Tux Guitar is?
Anyways I'm away for the weekend but remind me in a few days and I'll do it, thank you for showing interest and commenting ❤
TuxGuitar can export as a .gp5 file. Just choose 'Export As' instead of 'Save As' and you'll see it there.
Oh thanks man! That's nice and easy 👍
@@joaoldmedeiros awesome, can you link the tux guitar tab or convert it to a gp5 and link that?
Sure thing, I'll be at my computer in a few hours. Give me your email though, I don't wanna give that file away to everyone
oh god, I liked this video and forgot to comment! ... nice leg's hair
I was hoping NOBODY WOULD NOTICE!!! Now I'm ashamed 😢
@@joaoldmedeiros muahahah I "WATCH" everything!
@@joaoldmedeiros That's no problem at all! With that super evolved down picking you can cut all of these in no time :b
Hahahahaha I'm gonna downpick my leg hairs out ONE BY ONE

🙏🙏🙏
bass tabs ???????
Take the guitar tabs and play the 4 lowest strings! That should get you 90% of the way there ehehe, cheers man!
How the fuck did you get the tone to sound so great? What is that beautiful plugin?
Thank you man! It's Toneforge Jason Richardson

🤘
Is that a baritone guitar 🎸
No, standard scale
You are fucking damn good bastard on a guitar, you should play in Monuments :P
Thank you man! Ahaha would be awesome!
Maybe I’m not cut out for guitar. Everyone seems to catch on so quick. No matter how much I practice and try to learn stuff for this style of playing I can’t get it.
Don't speak like that Emmanuel! These songs are not easy, and with time you WILL get better, I promise :)
There's different covers with tabs on my channel if you want to try some easier songs!
João Medeiros I appreciate it bro I'll take a look
Never stop having fun playing the guitar my man
what is the caliber of strings?
10-52
@@joaoldmedeiros thanks )
Which guitar is that???
I don't even know, my first ever electric guitar. About 10 years old. I'll actually look into it and let you know more
João Medeiros can you give details about your setup?? The fender sounds really good.
João Medeiros which model fender are these??? Sorry asking too many questions 😅😅. Never seen people get heavy tone out of fender.
Backing track? please!!!!
I made it myself man!
John Browne without beard )
Ehehe bold claim my dude but I'll take it ❤️
Didnt do the scrape with fork and knife, i gotta say, im disappointed.
I knew someone would feel this way, I'm sorry it had to be you...
Since I uploaded the cover I thought "someone gon get mad because I didn't use the fork and knife", and now the day arrived :'(
You accelerated the video. your body movements are too abrupt to be playing really, again
No man! Where do you see this?
