As a mother I hate how people expect someone to raise a child in a situation like this. F that! If you date a woman and decide to help raise her child that is not yours 🎉🎉🎉. It takes a special partner to do that but, you had a choice. You are not cruel for taking care of yourself and your mental health leaving a liar in the dust. The child is innocent but, they have a father and it his responsibility to take care of his child.
Stepping up and building a parental relationship with a child out of love is worth celebrating. It’s a far cry from finding out that the child you’ve been raising is the product of your partner’s infidelity, and does not have the inherent paternal tie you’d believed existed. Realizing that your role in that child’s life is based on a lie is a WOUND, and no one should be blamed for needing to step away and heal after it’s been dealt, even if healing means that the parental relationship is never reestablished.
Can't believe people are calling OP cruel for not wanting to raise Karen and Caleb's son. While I agree a kid shouldn't be punished for their parents' bs, the kid isn't OP's, and he has no obligation to raise another man's child and both Caleb and Karen need to lay in the bed they made
It's devastating when the people you love the most betray you. I can’t imagine what you're going through, but I hope you find the support you need to heal from this
Ok who ever had the audacity to say that he was cruel is messed up even after everything he went through some people still decide to side with the brother. Bro your good don’t feel bad I hope you heal

Well,it looks like OP will be responsible for his Mom after his Dad is gone. OP could make his Mom pay for all of those years that she backed the idiot. Although I can see her pleading with OP after his Dad is gone to help/take care of his brother. Mom should be happy that the task is OPs. She really wouldn't want me to have that responsibility for her.

The kid did absolutely nothing. The kid exists as the result of an affair, but he had nothing to do with it. As far as the son/nephew knew, his dad just left. More than likely, the mother is going to fill his head with all kinds of lies about his uncle/the father who raised him. The kid is just an innocent victim in this scenario. Not saying OP is obligated to stick around. He should have explained to the kid, talked to him. As far as the story sounds, it seems like he just cut the kid off with zero explanation. Quite frankly, the kid is the only one I have any sympathy for. OP was stupid enough to take his wife back after she cheated, twice, and was somehow surprised to find out it happened a third time? The brother and OP's wife are both POS, the parents are enablers. The kid is the only one who did nothing wrong.
Cause it's not the kid's fault who is his biological father, it's straight up cruel to the kid that you raised, not saying that being cheated on isn't, but to me it just seems silly pride to cut your child just because he's not your bio kid
The kid knows OP as his father.. Isn't it cruel to just disapear as a pareant? The kid has no concept of what's going on with the adults.. So what is left for them is absence and hurt.
I fully understand OP, if you are telling a small child about something like that you will have to lie or sugarcoat the whole thing, it's normal that he is not in the mood for that. Let the perpetrator spin the yarn, the kid is bound to find out the thuth eventually.

It's more so to do with the fact this was the child he raised and loved and took one thing to come smashing it. Regardless of what he feels for karen or his brother, that child will now be hurt just as much. You see it as crazy and stupid, i see it as someone who can see past origins and see what was formed between the child and him. I won't dog on him about it, but i don't agree with his choice and view. also the guy was stupid enough to forgive her twice for this child. @@Bella_rrrrrr I agree it will be hard for him to process all of it but I really hate how people are forcing op to push down his feelings and suck it up it feels really scummy
The way OP described his younger brother in the beginning sounded like he was rather describing the behavior of a younger sister😂
The father has his faults but he did come to his senses and did right by his son thereafter, I'm impressed.
The father meaning Caleb, or is there a part 2 to this story?
@@richarddickens2438OP's father. He let Caleb slide for a while thinking it was normal, but quickly took action once he saw that Caleb wasn't maturing mentally at all.
Am I the only one who thinks this guy sounds like a complete catch?! Like really! He’s smart, successful, determined, and loyal. I feel so bad for this guy cause he sounds like all he’s done in life is give everyone his best and everyone but his dad shut him down.
Why should OP be considerate when his own brother wasn't? His own brother didn't even think for a second before sleeping with OP's wife. He must've thought that he won't be blamed since he's the golden child, but he didn't think about how their dad was done with him. OP shouldn't even think about that guy anymore.
My mom told me to kms should I forgive her she ALWAYS DID FAVERTS and well my sister is 4 years older then me and she scream curse and insult my parents she got away I can’t do shit to anyone and my mom is SUPER STRICT like I get hit for FOOTSTEPS

"At least fight for me"
Lady, he very generously forgave you 2 times. You belong with his brother.
For how much OP’s mother favored, loved, and protected Caleb even after he was exposed for everything he had done, I figured he would have been an affair baby if they hadn’t already done the paternity tests for Karen’s child.
"Everyone had been shiting on him"🤣🤣🤣
Everyone is giving op shit for going back to the ex but look at how he was raised. His brother was constantly put above him from the people who birthed and raised him. The man never had any chance to really build his self esteem and that’s not including the bullying from school but bullying from his brother as well.
"Children shouldn't be raised in a broken home" if you believed that then you wouldn't have done anything to break the home multiple times.
The parents are both bad in this situation, but at least the dad didn't actively defend the actions
Parents are both what?

Oh ok. go edit it then, don't leave it out, edit button is free.
Actually it's all the Mother's fault.
She's one enabling and allowing/defending the AH Brother's actions even to when they're both adults.
The Father like every working Dad actually has no idea until he actually talked to OP.
It's reasonable why he has no idea, he's working his ass off for his wife and 2 kids, no time and energy to know everything.
Once the Father listened and got to the bottom of it, he like every reasonable person sided with OP and actually fix the situation.
From stopping the other bullies at school to scolding the AH Brother when he got punched for stealing OP's money, and to disowning AH Brother and not including him from his will.

They are both as bad as each other. The father ignored the problems

These stories make me happy I have a good family.
Felt bad for the guy until he admitted to coming back to a cheater not once but twice

It’s from Reddit and I couldn’t find his post since he deleted it his account after the final update
Can't believe people are calling OP cruel for not wanting to raise Karen and Caleb's son. While I agree a kid shouldn't be punished for their parents' bs, the kid isn't OP's, and he has no obligation to raise another man's child and both Caleb and Karen need to lay in the bed they made
I love these golden child stories 😂
Exactly why more golden child stories on Reddit are starting to pop up. A lot are made up now but still entertaining
We want more of these 😂😂😂😂😂
It's devastating when the people you love the most betray you. I can’t imagine what you're going through, but I hope you find the support you need to heal from this
For karen: womp womp
Ok who ever had the audacity to say that he was cruel is messed up even after everything he went through some people still decide to side with the brother. Bro your good don’t feel bad I hope you heal
I hate that I can relate. I am the more dependable brother and I am very quiet while my brother talks loudly and has no boundary.
CHEATING IS NOT A MISTAKE. CHEATING IS A CRIME DESERVING OF NO FORGIVENESS .
so many parents don't stick to it when they "cut off" someone. But it seems like this man draws the line at the sanctity of marriage.
Poor Henry, he lost everything. He was completely.
Innocent and he lost everything😢
He has his dad Caleb
First mistake: finding a love one in a frat party
Don't you ever speak to that woman or that child again. A clean break is the quickest path to healing for the child. He has a father.
OP should try to burn his mom hair and said "It just a prank bro.". 🙄
Caleb trying to prove himself innocent: " When you, when when you ....did when...you...you..when.when-"
I mean reading shit like this I get how some people end up in jail.

One big change I would have made us sitting down with Henry and explaining to the poor kid how he and OP weren't actually father and son, but rather uncle and nephew.
Too bad the enabler never got her comeuppance.

Ah yes, harmlessly flirting with the woman married to your brother. Very harmless.
You are not cruel at all. You made a decision that would be very very hard to do. As long as you do what you feel is right then that is good
Nah, this is BS for a cheating ex-wife to reveal herself and discuss her affair with her husband even though OP is not aware of the relationship between them
I'm obsesed with these stories
Well,it looks like OP will be responsible for his Mom after his Dad is gone. OP could make his Mom pay for all of those years that she backed the idiot. Although I can see her pleading with OP after his Dad is gone to help/take care of his brother.
Mom should be happy that the task is OPs. She really wouldn't want me to have that responsibility for her.

Funny how the YEARS of torment weren't enough for the parents to pull Caleb up short, but the fucking the wife for years was... I can't imagine how Karen could expect OP to raise the boy when he's Caleb's son. That's wild. Poor OP.
Assuming Henry is old enough to remember OP, abandoning Henry is worse than anything Caleb or his ex wife did.
Nah it’s for the best, having a parent around who hates you would have been bad for Henry. OP said that he sees Caleb when he looks at Henry. It’s much better for Henry to be raised by Caleb & the cheating ex-wife. Henry is also very young, he may not even remember OP in the future.

Why is the dad kinda the only W character in this ENTIRE STORY.
Yeah no this is so fucking weird that the way the kid acted after he got called out by the dad that's psychopath Behavior he was like wait what do you mean I'm in trouble what do you mean I did something wrong that's not a normal response also why the hell would that be the favorite Child oh my sons just casually attacking burning beating and encouraging people to hurt him and even telling him he should kill himself no I'm going to back this horse
Next time he calls you, call him all the insults he called you as a kid

Personally I'd take the kid since I raised the child it's whole life and I was lied to I would teach the child to never be like its bio father

Your dad is a true man and think about what your brother would do if your parents didn’t know ! And sorry to say he is no bother
I don’t understand how it’s cruel to not raise a cheater’s child that’s not yours
@@katelyntaylor7384 That's very fair, thanks😃

19:49 now who in there right mind is raising the son of someone who made there life harsh for decades and slept with his wife and he had to rasie the man child without knowing, some people online are just crazy and stupid 😐
If anything, OP is doing his nephew a favor by staying away from him.
Regardless if he thinks it was his or not, he could have looked past the origins of it, especially if he could look past two previous affairs.
@@C.G.Gaster yea I know what you are saying he's human he must feel pain in his heart to find out a child he for so long loved and cared for isn't his.
But the people online who are making so he should just jump to forgive and forget without even healing, his life was hell ever since his brother did one bad thing now he did something so bad he might never want wife or a kid again let alone open his heart to a woman.
@@C.G.Gaster the thing is that if he would've tried to have some kind of relationship with the kid he would've probably need to pay child support which for me feels like a trick of the ex to get money out of him
OP should take some responsibility for taking back someone who not only cheated once, but twice. Forgiveness aside, if there is a pattern, did he think it would change? And was it not for the fact that she cheated on him with his brother, who is to say that he would not have taken her back again? Also, yes he HAD to cut off the child because he and the mother are a package deal. She can explain the absence of 'the father'.

And at this time I'm last
This is actually a very wholesome story
I like how the mom when op comes to her to stop the situation. Says she doesn't want to get involved but as soon as little bro says anything she comes running to him like she's his own personal bodyguard 😂🤦
Why should op be responsible for caring for his nephew it isnt his son, the son side maybe sad but whats cruel is to call op cruel for not wanting to live a life based on lies
