I like how this is following the lore we knew from the early 2000s, back when we thought Makuta was Mata Nui's literal brother! Edit: Understand, I enjoyed the lore as it progressed! I have no issues with Teridax not being Mata Nui's brother, and Makuta being a race! There's just some nostalgia falling back to original lore.
I love how the way they word certain things- like Mata Nui and the Toa Mata falling from the sky, and the island existing on an "endless ocean"- since on the surface they're just tiny exposition details, but they actually reflect the huge lore revelations we learned so, so many years later.
yeah the later lore just overcomplicated things and made the franchise a lot more like generic sci-fi... like Makuta's real name being Teridax like c'mon it sounds like a Doctor Who villain... while some of this might have been necessary to keep the story of the franchise going, it definitely lost its mysterious tribal vibe which I loved of the early series

I wish the guys at Noclip would make a documentary and interview Team Kanohi on the process of bringing this game to life. A development group of passionate fans volunteering to make a video game based on shared love of a toy series they grew up on. No monetary or profit incentive (irregardless of the obvious legal reasons), just passion, talent and patience to make a game that fans have always dreamt of. Needs to be documented and archived for video game history.
Wow, I'm impressed of how well you managed to put together this intro of Masks of power. What I like about this trailer is how in the first half of the video is almost like a retelling of the Legend of Mata Nui, except its mostly focuses on the island and its inhabitants so far at this point of the story.
Words cannot express how excited I am for this game. I'm eagerly waiting for the Demo, but even that is nothing compared to how much I want to play the actual game.
This is phenomenal!!💛 I love how the narration is written almost like an alternate version of the Mask of Light opening, a great balance of paraphrased quotes like "It was not to last", and new lines with a slightly different perspective from the film. Like it's the same legend just told by a different character in that world. I also appreciate that you're drawing from different eras of Bionicle by including things like Spinax and the Red Star, but still rooted in the first few years of Bionicle with things like "The Makuta" instead of calling him Teridax for example. This is such a beautiful love letter to Bionicle and all of us fans, the artwork is gorgeous, the music is fantastic, everything is of such high quality it truly feels like an official Bionicle story (in fact it feels more professional than some official Bionicle stories). Thank you so much for once again telling the legend of the Bionicle. - Your Gathered Friends

But at least we have the tales of the Bionicle to fondly recall in our memories

I love how there's an energy hound on Mata Nui. It really shows the connectedness of the original wave to the rest of the series. It would also be so cool to see the matoran wear some of the other masks present, like the noble versions of the Toa Mata masks that the av-matoran have or the Toa Metru masks.

In all actuality however, I believe this is in great hands and fans have nothing to worry about. I know this is being done for free and the nobility behind that is groundbreaking in the modern age, but I want to shower this with money any way I can. Hats off to you all working on this masterpiece for the great spirit lives on!

A Labor of love as beautiful and dedicated as this should not go unrewarded, but if Team Kanohi tries to monetize it without official permission they get slapped with copyright infringement or some other stupid crap.

Incredible - you've captured perfectly the way I saw Bionicle through the toys and flash animatics from when I was a child. Imagination always filled in the technical gaps of the time, and now you've all brought it to life in such an incredible way. Well done Team Kanohi!

I always thought Bionicle was like The Elder Scrolls of Lego franchises, due to the rich lore, which deserves much respect.
I always saw it as kid friendly Warhammer. Intense lore for cool little warriors that you put together yourself and play analog/board games with!
Bionicle Lore is more interesting and easier to follow than the Elder Scrolls lore.
