@@casaleiasallet1176 Yeah, the Legend of Mata Nui game. Unfortunately, while it is charming, I don't think it fits. Especially since we know that Matoran sounds different from that canonically, going by what Nokama sounded like reading some ancient Matoran script in the Mask of Light movie. And the fact that the words we know have intelligble pronunciations that we humans can make.
@@casaleiasallet1176 i know but the "accents" and "voice actors" are Just different enough to make it better ^^. I actually believe that it´s the real voice of lewa now.
Really quite excellent! I love the way Lewa's animated, it all feels incredibly true to the character. I wasn't originally sold on how voice acting would work here, but Dane's done a really good job. On extremely personal criticisms though, I would've liked to see the Miru or elemental powers get more use. While I'm sure those are 100% in progress right now, I'm left feeling like there's not a ton of reasons to use them. Further, I'm not so keen on having to pick up every drop; I'd rather have a mechanic similar to Sekiro, where a button can be held, recalling those drops to you. Those aside, this is a terrific preview. Everything about this screams passion and I know y'all are gonna make something amazing. Happy 810nicle Day, and I hope things are going well.
Seeing my childhood toys come to life in an modern action RPG is absolutely amazing. Not only do the graphics look nice and crisp, the models even look like the actual sets. This project of yours had ignited my inner child, and I do hope that the game's development presses on.
This is very impressive! You perfectly replicated the climate of Bionicles. I also like the voices, how they only very gently feel synthesised, just to feel that they are people, but still reminding us of their robotic nature
Looks great! There's only one small thing I think should change - the background of the dialogue boxes being transparent can make the text a little difficult to read if there's complex geometry or effects behind it. I think it would be better for legibility if it were more opaque. Other than that, though, this looks fantastic. Can't wait!
I love almost everything about this! The look of the rahi and matoran, the music, the pacing, it's all so good! My only critique is the hit sound, a metal axe striking a metal creature should make more than a dull thump. You could also vary the sounds based on if you hit a stunned enemy or after a successful dodge etc.
@@stemen1162 it's called protodermis. It's a bit like how we, as organic beings are made out of protein, but that can be anything from bone to wood to flesh to nerve. In the bionicle life forms case it can range from rigid (metallic) to bendable or flexible (masks or muscles). We're never told what exactly it feels like, but based on it's flexibility I imagine a lot of it feels a bit like plastic.
Really love the atmosphere and environment designs! The game seems super pretty and the combat loop seems interesting to play. The only suggestion I have is maybe to have the camera focus on the Matoran when the player is having a conversation, similar to the MNOG games or in games like Horizon FW, I feel that allows players to better focus and feels a connection to the NPCs of the game. I also know it's not the final version, but I can't wait to see how the UI evolves and more work on the texturing of the character models to match the more realistic environment. Great work and I love that you guys are working so hard on this project!!
OMG, this is incredible! Especially the difference between reveal and gameplay trailers... Can't wait to play. Wish your team max effectiveness and inspiration!
The dodging at the last second animation is really cool; it looks satisfying as hell to do successfully. I'm actually not a fan of Lewa running on all fours; I know he's a bit more wild than the other Toa, but I just can't imagine him running on all fours like that. I've always seen his wildness manifesting in acrobatics like Aang. I like the visuals and the voices though; the voices in particular are fun because I get nostalgia from the old animations, and it puts more life into the interactions. I'm really looking forward to this being available on steam though! Y'all have come such a long way since the original MoP.
Hopefully things are alright with that other Buonicle game, Quest for Mata Nui, there hasn't been updates in a year now. This came when we needed it most.
Really hope we get to see the Toa Mata in their Toa Nuva forms! In the lore, the way we’re seeing them in this game is their LESSER form, remember. They are, in this way, barely larger than Matoran -_-
The sound design and animation work is superb. I love the voices based off the unreleased game that lightstone has been working on. The music fits well, and the animal noises and stuff are perfect. Y'all have vision. The enemy attacks should probably have.. what's it called, framestun? Like the perfect dodge and shielding has. But less. Ramp up the stun based on the damage dealt, to sell the hits more, it'll help add weight to when you take damage Even just a couple frames of stun during a hit will sell smaller attacks as hard hitters, and big ones with a dozen or so will really make you scared. Sorta like how the latest smash game works
I love how you guys use the CG for the dialogue window. You used the masks on a singular head and background instead of making an entire portraits. Because yeah, masks are a central part of Bionicle and what we use to identify a character, and the actual toys the Toa and Matoran are based on have the same head design. It's fast, it's efficient, it's an all around good design. Edit: OH MY GOD I LOVE LEWA'S ATTACK ANIMATION!! Especially the maneuvers with his weapon arm! He knows that he has full, 360 degree rotation with his shoulders, and universal articulation with the ball joints and he's taking advantage of it! He's not just fighting like a beast, he's also fighting like a robot! He knows what he has available and he's using it! Expert combatant right here!
It's beautiful, Lewa's animal-like movement looks sick, animations are really smooth, world looks alive, whole game has climate reminding me Kao the Kangaroo games from my childhood... The only thing which seems like it could be improved is low FPS, but optimalization is always hard to achieve ;) Is that dodge cloning-like animation based on Nier Automata?
I heard the soundtrack at 1:36 and realized I was listening to a remix of the Le-Wahi music from the Bohrok online animations. My heart sang with nostalgic joy.
I love bionicle so much, and everything about this project, from the animations to the dialogue to the world, feels full of so much love and care... amazing!!! The combat, the music, great job!
This looks and sounds amazing!! Not sure how sold I am on the voices, but that’s just because I’m not too used to hearing the Toa in anything other than English. Keep up the stellar work! We’re all rooting for you!
You should listen them in 2001 game Legend of mata nui. Matorans sounds same like here, but toa sounds kinda different. It's a detail though but I hope they improve it imo
Absolutely perfect. The voices sound great. The music sounds great. The visuals are stunning. The combat and level design look like a perfect blend between modern titles and early 2000s classics. Even if I wasn't a Bionicle fan this would be one of the games I'm looking forward to the most. (Also yeah, animal run Lewa is the greatest thing ever.)
I'm definitely really feeling the combat here. Very fast paced and easy to understand. I'm guessing this is for Lewa specifically but it looks like you have to master a delay with him due to his axe, making me curious about the other characters with closer range weapons like Onua and Gali. Lewa running on all fours is hilarious too. I also like the dialog too, it sounds like you guys used voice clips from Legend of Mata Nui. Graphics are also stellar, very good attention to detail in the design of the mountains. Only thing I'm not 100% feeling is the music, but I'm sure that can be adjusted in future builds.
With the combat music, I feel that was fine. The atmospheric music needed more to be desired. It's mainly just making it have some more memorable harmonies and not being as repetitive, really. But don't take my word as gospel since I'm not a composer myself, so there's some gray areas in what I'm thinking with the music.
God I love how fast this feels. The only thing I would change is I'd exaggerate the movements more and make his turning radius even smaller to sell the speed and the agility even more.
It's just so beautiful and nostalgic, reminded me of how my younger self felt the first time I played *Bionicle: The Game* and *Bionicle Heroes* 👏😭 The models, the music, the animations, I wish this project great success, the developers are doing an impressive work!
This i astonishingly well-made, you’re creating something amazing for people that grew up with bionicle!!!!! I gotta say Im so impressed by the immersion and overall quality of this demo, you people know what you’re doing. Love the sounds they make when speaking btw, Lewas voice is spot on!!!!
It would be really cool if you guys could ad visual damage to the enemies. Every hit, pieces fall off and you can start to see the inner mechinisms. As they get more broken they get more agressive. That would dive more into the fact they are mechanical lego pieces
The VOICE ACTING. I love that it's actually in Matoric. Will there be an option for English voices also, or is that asking too much? Either way, this game's lookin to kick ass
The those who know Bionicle and how nobody today knows the power behind these stories hurts me. This will bring Bionicle to a whole new Generation and experience this amazing tale. Just take my money.
This looks great. I do think the Nui-Ramas are a fair bit too tanky for how little of a threat they seem to be, I'd maybe like to see their attacks come out a bit faster, unless they are very early game enemies. The Nui-Jaga seems about right though. Also the way the music abruptly leads into a victory sound after you defeat it is a tad jaring. The sound design is really nice.
I need this game so bad. I love how the soundtrack sound like an updated version of the old Bionicle games and how they incorporated the old robotic sounds that were used in the original character animations.

Please don't give up on this. This is mine and many others dream we just never got.
I ... i´ve never imagined the "voices" that the bionicles would have but somehow ... it´s perfect ! You guys are Just amazing !
im pretty sure it is or is meant to resemble the voices of the toa and matoran from an old cancelled game
I like that spider at the end and I would love to see more unique looking creates we have not seen styled from the 2001 era.
This is how I always pictured a lovecrafted Bionicle game to look like. Thank you to everyone who worked on this project.
The way the light moves on the health indicator!
It's rendered in game!
This is very impressive! You perfectly replicated the climate of Bionicles. I also like the voices, how they only very gently feel synthesised, just to feel that they are people, but still reminding us of their robotic nature
This.... this isn't backed up by any AAA funding but this looks to be on the same AAA quality of any Lego game. Holy Mata Nui bless you devs ❤️
Looks great! There's only one small thing I think should change - the background of the dialogue boxes being transparent can make the text a little difficult to read if there's complex geometry or effects behind it. I think it would be better for legibility if it were more opaque. Other than that, though, this looks fantastic. Can't wait!
I am absolutely blown away. From sound design to fighting animation, this looks incredible.
I have to admit, I wasn't very impressed by the fight against those small spiders, but the flying guys and the scorpion? Looked really great.
The spiders are Fikou, the flying creatures are wasps called Nui Rama, and the scorpion is a Nui Jaga.
Game of the year whatever year it comes out GUARANTEED.
They're more of an organic plastic than metal
@@kieran10202 I thought they were organic and metal, no plastic at all
@@stemen1162 it's called protodermis.
@@kieran10202 you are right I forgot they are made of protodermis
This is one of the most beautiful game previews I have seen as a Bionicle fan. This is everything I’ve always wanted!
Definitely something that will be added down the line!
Y'all have come such a long way since the original MoP.
full props to you guys! You pulled out ALL the stops with the cinematic quality of this update!
I ADORE the voicework that's been done for this.
I love how you guys have captured the look and feel of the old Bionicle renders and cinematics
Hopefully things are alright with that other Buonicle game,
Quest for Mata Nui, there hasn't been updates in a year now.
This came when we needed it most.
Really hope we get to see the Toa Mata in their Toa Nuva forms!
In the lore, the way we’re seeing them in this game is their LESSER form, remember.
They are, in this way, barely larger than Matoran -_-
It's just like the world I imagined looking at the concept/cover art. The music is absolutely perfect
you guys are doing what lego could've done 10 times over and I can't express how much joy this project fills me with. Keep up the good work.
But less. Ramp up the stun based on the damage dealt, to sell the hits more, it'll help add weight to when you take damage
Even just a couple frames of stun during a hit will sell smaller attacks as hard hitters, and big ones with a dozen or so will really make you scared. Sorta like how the latest smash game works
THIS
I love how you guys use the CG for the dialogue window.
The only thing which seems like it could be improved is low FPS, but optimalization is always hard to achieve ;)
Is that dodge cloning-like animation based on Nier Automata?
It is!
@@tohungamatoran4964 knew it!! love that game to death
Windfly.
I heard the soundtrack at 1:36 and realized I was listening to a remix of the Le-Wahi music from the Bohrok online animations. My heart sang with nostalgic joy.
How lego ignores the bionicle fanbase is beyond me but gamers like you are why they never die. Great work!
I just realized this was posted on Bionicle day, nice.
I couldn't stop grinning when a certain bird flew by. This is so cool!
That voice is perfect for Lewa, I can’t wait to hear how the other Toa sound!
I just love this so much! I almost cried when I heard the Kahu call
Gather friend's, listen again to our legend of the Bionicle
Phenomenal. Your game has grown so much!
Those heavfty slams feel so satisfying, yall have some absolutely talented animation artists
I love bionicle so much, and everything about this project, from the animations to the dialogue to the world, feels full of so much love and care... amazing!!! The combat, the music, great job!
I am BEYOND excited about this, it looks amazing, especially for early testing! Team Kanohi be like: "THIS ISN'T EVEN MY FINAL FORM!"
I feel 20 years younger watching this.
This is definitely what that Bionicle Point 'n' Click adventure game looked like in my kiddy brain. Well done!
@@stemen1162 yeah I think that's what it was. I was never that much of a fan of the matoran voices in LoMN either tbh
I hope its gets finished. Or atleast a playable demo gets put out. Im just so happy to see this amazing game tbh
a playable demo is scheduled for the latter half of this year
Absolutely perfect.
Holy shit, I love the way you guys have done the dialogue.
this is CRAZY! So many little details! I love the robotic textures on their voices. The blending of organic and robotic is so well represented here!
I can't believe how good this looks. I don't care if my computer doesn't run it, I'm buying this no matter what.
They killed it with the music imo! But I do hope we get more casual songs for villages and such.
With the combat music, I feel that was fine. The atmospheric music needed more to be desired. It's mainly just making it have some more memorable harmonies and not being as repetitive, really. But don't take my word as gospel since I'm not a composer myself, so there's some gray areas in what I'm thinking with the music.
@@heroman1322 (Dev) Rest assured we will have some nice tunes for villages etc. :)
This is incredible.
If I'd somehow been shown this back in the height of my Bionicle craze in the early 2000s, I think I've had crapped my brain out.
God I love how fast this feels. The only thing I would change is I'd exaggerate the movements more and make his turning radius even smaller to sell the speed and the agility even more.
Oh my god, this oozes early 2000s. I’m in love.
It's just so beautiful and nostalgic, reminded me of how my younger self felt the first time I played *Bionicle: The Game* and *Bionicle Heroes* 👏😭
The models, the music, the animations, I wish this project great success, the developers are doing an impressive work!
Man this looks incredible. This is everything that I wish existed when I was a kid.
This looks incredible. I have a little nit pick though. The hits sound effects should sound more like a slash for Lewa since he fights with an axe
It sounds like an axe hitting a more metallic surface, which is what it should be. It shouldn't sound like a sword slashing through flesh.
@@rodi8206 I guess but it just needs a little more oomph
This i astonishingly well-made, you’re creating something amazing for people that grew up with bionicle!!!!! I gotta say Im so impressed by the immersion and overall quality of this demo, you people know what you’re doing. Love the sounds they make when speaking btw, Lewas voice is spot on!!!!
If the game will look this good i will be happy to wait at least 1 more year for release
If the transitions between attack animations were smoother you could convince me this project had ten times its actual budget.
It would be really cool if you guys could ad visual damage to the enemies. Every hit, pieces fall off and you can start to see the inner mechinisms. As they get more broken they get more agressive. That would dive more into the fact they are mechanical lego pieces
That would be an enormous effort.
The music is perfectly fits mystery of the Mata Nui! Keep focus on the game atmosphere - you're on the right way!
The VOICE ACTING. I love that it's actually in Matoric. Will there be an option for English voices also, or is that asking too much? Either way, this game's lookin to kick ass
If this game is successful, I sincerely hope they make more following the other stories
opening shot was sublime, love the robotic alien voices and the music as well. great work!
I love how the soundtrack sound like an updated version of the old Bionicle games and how they incorporated the old robotic sounds that were used in the original character animations.
yo, anyone else remember playing that bionicle fps on the wii? Def giving similar vibes except way better!
Just found out about the project today. Looks great. Can't wait to test it :)
