Incredible job! I did the hammer tips, tone bar screws & rubber grommets, damper felts and the bump mod... but this entirely takes the win!! You've nailed the cosmetics, too...

Omg!!! How many hours did it take you? Have you replaced most of the parts. Did you build your own case or was this the original? Great stuff!

It was my project during the hardest months of the pandemic. Honestly, I don't know how many hours. Almost a year of work. Of course, sometimes I was standing for weeks waiting for spare parts or for the workshop to return the chrome or galvanized parts.

Thank you for your service! 2:21 I just wonder if washing an old wooden key with detergent won't cause swelling or contraction problems. Is there something I need to be careful about?

I am not an expert carpenter. But I had no problems with washing the keys with water. In my case, it was cleaning them and leaving them in full sun to dry. Just in case, avoid leaving the keys soaking 😉

Trabajo increible ! Una pregunta : ¿ es necesario cambiar las tiritas de tela entre el martillo y el damper ? Las mias aguantan todavia pero tienen un aspecto "viejo". Dudo en reemplazarlas..

No es vital. Yo diría que solo hay que cambiarlo si el tejido se ha dado de sí. Si el martillo, damper, y todo el mecanismo está en buen estado y limpio, no creo que merezca la pena el esfuerzo. Fíjate bien que el brazo del damper se recoja de forma similar en todas las teclas y que haga bien su trabajo. El esfuerzo de desmontar todo el mecanismo del martillo es mas laborioso a la substitución de las tiras. Que en ese sentido, la substitución es bastante sencillo.

Yes. And in the tone bars too. Although later, these were galvanized again in the original yellow color.

Correcto! Cuando las teclas tienen grietas profundas, no se pueden arreglar puliendo. Hay que substituirlas. Despegar las tapas blancas es bastante laborioso, paciencia. Por otro lado, el ancho de las teclas Rhodes no tiene el tamaño estándar de tecla de piano, son algo mas estrechas. En ese sentido, deberás limar un lado de las tapas nuevas y dejar un acabado redondeado con papel de lija muy fino. Parece difícil pero no lo es tanto 😜. Así que, ánimos! Saludos.

Yo cogi en aliexpress y eso habia que recortar lo largo y lijar los lados sino una vez mintado te das cuenta de que por juego lateral una tapa toca el lateral de otra tecla.
