I explored 28mm last December, and oddly it's a new fav. Probably because most adventure photography fits 28mm very well. It's great if you want to get leary eye looks in street :)
Faye, Very unique photographs of a beautiful model! I enjoyed the location with, your choosing of 28mm was exceptional with this photo shoot. Once I enjoyed your personality as always! Looking forward too your next venture. Take care, Leo 🎉🎉
Neat to see. I used a Nikkor 28mm 2.8AF/Nikon F90 to shoot close strobe work in Fashion Lighting course I took way back. My teacher couldn't believe it.
The photobooth scene reminds me of Benedict Spence's night exterior scene im the series 'Eric' (behind-the-scene video on his insta). Kudos for breaking the long-lens rule for portrait photography. 28mm is my most familiar focal length.
Hoi! This is my favorite video you made. So nice to see you use it documentary style instead of the popular fashion, portrait orientation out of proportion limbs style. I love the 28mm! Super gave fotos! It would be great if Sigma would update this to a DG DN version.
Yay, anytime!! I used to be a little ‘scared’ of wider lenses, cause it’s different to shoot with. But honestly, it became very comfortable very quickly 😇
I've been shooting with the Leica Q2 for the past couple months now and the wide view with a 1.7 aperture really makes everything look so cinematic. It definitely opened my eyes up to the capabilities of a wider lens
24mm f1.4 is also amazing. Maybe even better, in my eyes. I love wide angle lenses so much more because you can really create some sort of „edgy“ shots that are not really possible with standard / tele lenses.
I shoot a lot with a 28-70mm f2. 28mm is great for urban shoots, but I don't like to limit my shots to just one focal length. There are plenty of videos about "challenging yourself" by sticking to one focal length, but I see it as limiting myself, and I don't want to do that. I'm experienced enough to know what I want to do. I always plan to shoot in a couple of specific locations and then walk around and make it up as I go along. It always seems to work out as there are plenty of options in a busy city. I wonder if your camera struggled to focus through the glass because it's a new, non-native lens? It's never been an issue for me, but I don't use 3rd-party lenses for model shoots. Loved the video, loved the shots, especially in the shop.
Those photos are amazing! Subscribed, I think your videos will be a great source of inspiration as I’m beginning to work in portrait photography myself. Looking forward to future content!
Ohh I didn't know the Pulp Fiction fact, that's awesome and now I'm in love with the cinematic look of the 28 mm... more videos like this please and if you want to tell us a story with the photoshoot that would be great! Doei ✌
I took my 28mm 2.8 on a trip to Europe because it is very light and compact. I got the best photos with it, even though it is not one of my “premium” lenses. I shoot with a Nikon ZF.
As a portrait photographer who got in the game by way of street photography, 28mm is my favorite focal length. You have some discretion to play around with at super close range and very minimal if you stand back a little
I rarely shoot people, however, if/when I do, 28mm is my favorite focal length. The first model kinda' looks on the order of a young, attractive Shelly Duvall. Recently, I read that despite her reluctance to be in front of the camera, she was discovered in her home state of Texas, by movie director, Robert Altman who thought she had an interesting face.
The photos were fantastic! But the actual video is too. Is it you filming or is there someone else in the background filming? Beautiful color grading and great editing ❤
i have an EF 24mm f2.8 on my R7.... with the crop factor, 38mm.... u know what ? it's the lense i use the most !!!! Great video ! this 28mm is insane, i love this cinematic look ! i wondering how u configure your R6 ( buttons, specifics setup, etc... ) your R6 seems ultra ergonomic ! have a greaaaattttt dayyyyy !
Is there really a difference between 28mm and 35mm if you just keep a bit more distance to the subject with the 35mm? Wouldn't it look the same? Great photos by the way :)
Girl! Look at time stamp 5:53, in the location 5 chapter.... Remember why you put the polarizer on? Now look at the stack of books in the window, lower right corner of the video. A book there is titled, "The Girl With No Reflections". LOL
I have one small request, Fayes. Going forward with your new videos. Please use the "title safe" in your editing software. I can not see your text placed at the side of the screen on my TV.🙏🏽
Oeh! That’s a great tip. I was struggling with it as well. Sometimes my parents watch my video’s back on the projector (haha). And then the settings sort of fall off the screen :(
@@inyourfayes Perfect. I will learn Davinci Resolve very soon. Results are perfect. it's probably your recording skills but Subscribed as so ill learn from you aswell lol. Thanks for Response.
Good grief, I hope you studied photography formally. I’ve followed several RUclips people and your pics are the best! Either o have to try harder or give up. Thanks !
Can I ask how you deal with models? Do you pay them for their time just to make the video? Do you give the model access to the photos for their portfolio as payment? How does it work?
Hii! I did pay Maddie for this one. As for the photos, I decide which photos I want to deliver/edit. And I send the model all of these photos through WeTransfer. Let me know if you have any other questions! 😊
Like if you would get an 28mm after this video! 👇 I’d love to know 😇
Not a 28 but I literally just picked up a 24mm.
I already have a vintage 28mm / 2 Nikkor ais
I have a 24mm 1.4, which seems a bit to extreme.
@@inyourfayes absolutely is now on my "I need" list!
I need a 28!
One of the reasons the Leica Q series is so popular 28mm done well is hard to beat! These are killa!
Absolutely, l loves my Q1✌️
Love the shot at 3:48! So cinematic! I always thought 50MM was the cinematic one. I learned something new.
Yay! Happy about that. 50 mm was my first choice for a long time as well 😁
I dont know how I discover your channel but, now you are one of my favorites photographers, your photos are so dope!
Ahh! That means a lot, thank you 🙏🏼

Yess exactly! It’s a fun little challenge 🙌
That sigma 28 1.4 is insanely good.
Hey congrats! 28mm is my fav focal length. Amazing for fashion and also for street/documentary. Glad you liked it as well 🙋🏽♂️
You're so unique, Fayes. Your work is very encouraging. Keep shooting.😎👍🏼🇨🇦
Ahh thank you!! Really appreciate that 🙏🏼
ur photos are so cool
Thank you! 😇
the photo of your model framed in the door at the restaurant is movie vibes for real. love it. now im on amazon looking for a 28mm lens for my r5c lol
Fantastic images. I’ve recently purchased a 28 and shot a festival over the weekend. On film though so waiting on the lab now!
3:46... how TRULY sick. Congrats.
Thank you!!! 🙏🏼

Wow, wow, WOW! This was spectacular. I love 28mm photos when they are shot by great photographers. There’s nothing like it.
Ahh thank you!! Happy to hear you think so.
This shoot was fun in a lot of ways 🙌
Sigma 28mm is so good!
I know right! Sharp as knives 🔪
I think 28mm is becoming the new 35mm. It is wide but not super wide. Just perfect.
Nice video. Cheers.
Thanks for this Video - love the results 😍
You’re welcome 😊
Loved the video as a fellow portrait photographer myself who shoots at 85mm
Thank you! Happy to hear you enjoyed it 🙏🏼

I need to start doing pov videos whenever I do photography videos on my channel. They look so fun to edit, and are so nice to watch!

bravo bravo flawless portraits and madeleine is an absolute natural 🔥🔥

Creating this one was so fun, the scenery made it pretty easy for me to take some cool footage 😁
28mm was my only lens for 6 years. It was great.
It's a joy to watch your videos! I like to pair 28mm and 50mm in a shooting. They complement each other so well.
Greetings from Germany 🤗
Thank you!! And I couldn’t agree more, those lenses are a must have in my camera bag 👌
Always enjoying every content in this channel❤️❤️❤️ so natural ❤️
Ever shot with flash before?
Ahw thank you! I have, but not on my channel yet. I’d love to give it a go, during a portrait photoshoot 🙌
This has convinced me that the 28-70 f2 is going to make it into the bag at some point. I’ve been on the fence, so thanks for this.

28mm ART is my very fist prime lens, the best thing is that you can cut 2:3 to 16:9 , then you get a 35mm lens & a cinematic photo.
