One thing I love about street photography is I meet so many cool people! Used to be scared to death but when I changed the way I looked at it it all changed. I look at people as new future friends and I always want to get people in their best light! 🙂🙂🙂
Ahh that’s such a good way to look at it! Some people actually might love it and will ask for a photo. You’d be surprised. Only one way to find out, and that’s putting yourself out there 😊
Really is a good way to look at it. I'm in that phase of switching the mindset right now cause I'm probably still a little too shy when I'm out shooting street photography. Great advice!
Best thing is these photos will grow more appreciation as the years roll by. Small details like text fonts, fashion, colours, signs etc will all change as the years go by. That's the real beauty of street photography, it's a snapshot of time. Nice one Faye, you got some great shots there and met some lovely people on the streets. 📸👍
Street photography always makes the best photos. I get so nervous to do it myself. I give you a lot of credit for going out of your comfort zone. It's definitely a great genre of photography. Capturing an image of people doing everyday things is so photogenic. I enjoyed the video so much! Good job to everyone that made this! Going out and doing street photography right after it stopped raining at night will give you some really cool photos.
Hi girl, just want to say i love your way of color grading photos and also your enthusiasm for photography, it really inspires me to go out and shoot. Thanks a lot! Keep up with the good work))
I have a hard time finding interesting shots in a medium sized city. You are in a place that looks so interesting with the trains, trams, Chinatown, etc. Great stuff!
Ahh I see what you mean! That’s when rainy nights and foggy mornings are coming in clutch. You can make it look so moody, even if it’s empty streets. Thanks for watching 🙏🏼
My best advice for street photography is something I will always preach. LFTL, Look For The Light! Whether it’s day time, night time, or in between, light will always make your shot more impactful. Street lights, neon signs, car headlights, trams, all make for great shots. In the day time, look for those sharp shadows brought by a sunny day. Look for the light bouncing off the buildings causing a unique refraction. LFTL will help your street photography skills in no time.
I love street photography because you never know what you will get or who you will meet. One thing is for sure you will always find things to shot! I use 50mm most of the time but will use 24-70mm as well. I enjoyed your video and your photos. I hope your cold didn't last to long! Cheers from Canada!
I’m novice at street photography and I walk with camera at shoulder height like I’m doing a bicep curl. I tell myself it attracts less attention when I see something I want to shoot 😂. Loved your video 🔥
This is the first video I've seen of yours, obviously because it was about Street Photography which I am really into. I loved your photos and you have some great ones too. You should keep doing Street Photography. Thanks for sharing.

@@inyourfayes I have been doing street photography for 14 years and love it, everyday something new will catch my eye and inspire me, sometimes the inspiration does take time, but not forcing it is key.
Great Video! It's nice to see you going outside your comfort zone. I wanted to give some tips for people wanting to do Street Photography but maybe struggling with the anxiety of it! • Get ahead of your picture. Work out what you want, point your camera or position yourself ahead of the subject and let them move into your frame. • Try to use the view finder less. People will walk past you not even realising you are taking a picture. • Take a picture of someone but don't move your camera until they walk past you. This makes it look as if you were photographing something else and your attention was not on them. • A NYC photography called Trever Wisecup has a Walkie Talkie video that will give you real anxiety seeing how in your face he gets with a flash! You'll see how unobtrusive you are in comparison! I hope this helps people who want to give it a try and are struggling to get the confidence to do it :)
Love these photos.. Wonderful work, specially with the fact that it's not something you do very often.. Very very well done, Faye!!! Can’t wait to see more street from you 😁
I just loved your work. Your composition, lighting, and colours are brilliant. Besides the fact that you are attractive, your presentation is so natural and fun to watch. Thank you. You have inspired me to get out there and do some street work. Keep doing it.
This was very nicely played and well-documented. I've done so very little street photography, especially now that I live hundreds of miles from any large "urban center". Street photography for me would be quite different these days but it could work in its own way. Being open-minded and trying out different things is what it's all about, though, and getting out of one's comfort zone is great for the never-ending learning process. Shooting with the wider angle as you did on the last day makes for far more intimate images at times, as well. I'm one of the old die-hard evil (lol) Olympus users, though, so we get a different set of advantages with our gear. :) Enjoy and never stop learning, for I continue to do so even at my late age.
Olympus can be frozen solid, buried in sand, or left in rain for literal days on end. Weather sealing in Fuji, Nikon and many cameras is standard practice for the last decade or so at least.
I love your video, I,ve been doing street photography for years, just got back from a week in Manhattan which is amazing but do most of it in Europe or the UK my home country. You've certainly got an eye for it and the more you do it the more confident you get. Well done. Just enjoy it.
In the past i photographed street a lot. After this chapter i didn´t have a time for it and i really missed that. But last year i went back to it and vith analog classic cameras. I must say it is beautifull and if people react to normal camera, with classic camera is 100 times more. And this reactions and contact with people is amazing on street photography. Good job of you and i must say the photo of man with umbrella and coffe cup on your second day is georgeous!
You always share your vast knowledge with such whimsy and humor in your storytelling. This video was awesome for so many reasons: - The music each day told a story. Great job on the editing! I loved the composition of the two men sitting in the same position in the bakery. What made it stand out was the choice of music while showcasing the photos. It reminded me of Penn Station, NYC, commuting in the morning. - Your street photography showcases your talent, highlighting your compositional awareness and creativity. My favorite shot was the black-and-white image of the train passing behind silhouetted figures. - Your reminder to practice patience by staying in one place and observing until the perfect subject comes into view for your canvas. - Attention to the details, discovering a glimmer of light, and then patiently waiting for the perfect opportunity. - Using a body cam to show your configuration changes (on the fly) as you prepare for a shot. - Filming while you're not feeling well and showing that you're not perfect was, actually perfect! I am new to photography and videography and continue to pick up great ideas through your entertaining content. Next month, I'm headed to the US Open in Queens, NY to watch the early round Tennis matches, and your video gave me so many ideas! Great work Faye!
What a life, you are so blessed to be able to do this for a whole week. You are living a lot of people's dream, you should be proud!!!🎉🎉🎉 Also you are a great photographer.
Very nice. I typically shoot wildlife and natural landscapes, but have drifted into shooting urban environments from an interest in abandoned buildings. Your week long session has inspired me to do more!
I love your photos! You make the ordinary look extraordinary with your editing skills. You make the scene seem dark, almost gothic looking but you bring in a pop of colour and or light to really make your shots stand out. You have a great eye for composition too.
I love all your videos. The editing, portrait, cars and tips and tricks ones. But this one just had something special. I would say it's one of your best ones to date.
Really enjoyed this video, Fayes. You shot so many interesting pictures. And your composition was amazing. You should shoot more street photos because you're good at it💯.🇨🇦 Roy
Great video! Love the pictures. Just want to say the guy is right you're very beautiful, the eyes 👀 😍 also, what effect and editing do you use? I love the blueish look on the photos.
I think you inspired me Faye. Love these photos, absolute fire! I have an older Canon EOS Rebel R5i (uses the older EF-S lens). And I just invested in a new-to-me, Canon 24-105mm f/4 & 50mm f/1.4 lenses. Going to try them both out at the beginning of September at a 50th wedding anniversary, followed by a trip to Japan for the first time! I'm so stoked!! And BTW, that florist in this video is right. You're a total babe. And I have been to the Netherlands as well, and they are beautiful people. I loved it there! I appreciated how the bicyclists have their own bike lanes and have right of way, and how convenient the public transportation is. Keep up the excellent work, and I hope you continue to inspire others! BTW, your orange hat is awesome!
Loved the video and the post processing mood. The black and white exercise is the basic one they teach in photography school. Sometimes I like doing it. A creative idea might be to use slow shutter speed to make the moving people like ghosts. Again, great work, carry on.
Very happy to see you embracing street/urban photography. It can be extremely challenging at first. Finding and capturing moments that happen quickly. But after a while, you'll find yourself in tune with your environment and your photos will just flow. Amazing work!!
Loved the stuff at the markets! You nailed those isolated moments, plus the way the sun was just beaming was 🔥. The guy on the drums and the dogs were really nice to.
Thanks for one of the better videos on street photography in recent times. I throughly enjoyed it. I do switch my camera into b/w mode. The results are great. I do like your choice of using the 85mm. It allows me to stay back. Thanks again.
You took some very nice photos. Street photography is something I have been wanting to do for a long time, but I guess I haven't been able to gather up the courage, being quite an introverted person. But your video has inspired me, I think I should give it a go soon.
Photography is in my blood, in my small town (a Dutch 'vestingstad'), my family has always been known as the photographers. I never did anything with photography, but I've gotten really into it in recent years (using my iPhone). Now I've bought my first starter camera (Panasonic Lumix DC-FZ82D, I'll invest in a Canon if I can prove to myself that this is a hobby I enjoy). I want to get into landscape and street photography and watched this video because of it. It's cool to see another Dutchy going about photographing! Thanks for showing us a bit out of your week and cool photos!
Faye, I really enjoyed a week of street photography, from rainy days and nights, to sunny days on the streets then into different markets, you definitely got better as time went on. Great seeing the city and its people! So cool, I was photo editor for my college paper, so I’ve done darkroom developing and worked with black and white which I love playing with contrast, Also covered sports from football, tennis, basketball etc. also covered models at local stores of business with was fun, sometimes I use starlight filters to give it a sparkle. You should try Australia sporting game it’s fun especially if you have access to the field, which I did covering for the college paper. I felt bad that you got sick from the weather but I know it was worth it. Great job do more of this it was fantastic. ❤ Thank you, Leo 🎉
Ahh thanks Leo!! 🙏🏼 Happy to hear you could tell I improved as the video went on. I feel like that as well. Sports photography sounds challenging as well. Never really done that before. Except for motorsports hahah. Thank you for your support! I feel better now btw 😉😊
Thank you for this video. It is good going outside your comfort zone. This is how we grow. The more you shoot the more you see shots. You have to develop your senses to see and anticipate what is going to happen. You have to know what you like and want to capture. A good example is juxtaposition. I didn’t know this existed until I started shooting on the street. Now I see it all the time. The same with reflections. Reflections for glass plates. I love to get very close to people and shoot reflections from their sunglasses. Puddle reflections shots are the best. There are many ways to shoot street. A common method is to use a prime. Select a focal length. 28-35-50mm are the traditional choices. My aperture is between 5.6 and 8. As a result, I don’t choose a fast lens. In add, a slower lens will be smaller and lighter than your faster lens. I don’t spray and pray. That generates too many images for me. I also use a small and lightweight body. When I walk the streets I do that for hours at a time. My gear gets heavier over time. I want to be unintrusive in the environment. Take my image and move on unobserved. I don’t interact with my subjects. I didn’t like many of your images. They seem like images randomly captured. I did like the image of the woman with the clear umbrella at 6:40. Did you look at classic street images? Your images don’t look like them. I frequently shoot in B&W. I like that look. I also set the compensation to -1/3 to -2/3. An interesting thing to do is shoot B&W jpegs and also shoot raw so you get both color and B&W. The benefit is you se the images in the EVF or LCD in B&W. The world looks different in B&W. As you suggested, you see the light better in B&W. Street photography is hard. Good insight to shoot 1st and ask questions later. The moment lasts for an instant and then is gone. Be open to what the street offers you. You can’t me it happen. I make images with intention. I’m only satisfied, barely, with 2-5% of my images. On the other hand, I enjoy myself 100% of the time I walk the street with my camera. Did you find the man that gave you the flower sexist? He gave you the flower because you are a beautiful girl? How asked him to judge your looks? It appears to me, you are an adult. Thus you are a woman. I bet if I had that interaction with the florist I wouldn’t have been given the flower. Mask On Nurse Marty
That's pretty amazing for not being used to it. But you are always attracted to people because that's your thing. And with your gained knowledge you nailed it. Yet you still try to direct things a bit sometimes. And it pays. You always look so cheerful and your energy affects people around you. I like street photography but I'm too shy myself around people I don't know and I'm always afraid about their reaction when I would photograph them unknowingly. Another very good street photographer is Adrien Sanguinetti. He lives in Japan and can make a really boring, random place look good in his photos. Hope you do more like this. You got the feel for it.
Hard to believe that you do not do street much. Some of the photos you got were just freaking incredible. Like I watch my fair share of street fotography conent on RUclips, so I can savely say that you are very good. Edit: typo
I REALLY love the shot of the dude at 21:43 ! Really nice editing, really nice light, and just the perfect amount of bokeh that doesn’t obscure the environment he is in but still separates him from the background.
Nice POV and good to watch your journey. I thought the images from day one were great. But, you were defiantly more confident as the week went by, even with how you interacted with others. Really solid video.
Great video ! Street photography is a big challenge, especially if u never practiced before ! People’s seems so nice there . Not sure I can do same here in France ! Great work ! You’re the best ! 👍💪🤟😜🔥
Great photos, you make it look easy breeezing through the buttons, which it isn't. I assume that after you show the capture that the image is after edited ? . . . some really cool tones, blueish etc.
Love the way you’ve brought us along with your journey. I always enjoy wandering around big cities doing similar, it’s never dull and always different. Great work, thanks for sharing, looking forward to your next street experience
To me the 2 most difficult disciplines are wildlife and street photography (not street portrat). Wildlife because how how much preparation you have to do and patience. Some stay on the exact spot for hours even days just to capture maybe a couple of photos of an animal that just disappears right away. For street, if you take it seriously, its very difficult because of how the environment and elements constantly change not to mention the lighting all the while still incorporating or keeping in mind composition (basic and advance)
A moment of confession. There must be something from with me recently. I enjoy watching street photo shoot videos from my hometown Melbourne instead of going there and doing it myself. I have to pull my socks up, I suppose. These cold and rainy days produce excellent photos. From your camera Faye. I'm no match. Cheers, Tad
Girl, are you freaking kidding? One week of street photography and you’ve not done this before? You are an absolute natural at street photography. Amazing shots. You’ve got the eye.
Great job getting out there and pushing your boundaries! I like how you switched to monochrome. That's my usual method, shoot in mono/raw to see the light, and then see how well the color benefits the shot. Obviously, there are times when I do shoot for color first and light second, but those aren't near as often.
Thank youu! Happy to hear you enjoyed it. Yeah thought I’d switch it up, it’s a very different way of taking photos. And it’s handy you still keep the coloured raw files. 🙏🏼
I really like the shots on the train platform. There's something about platforms that lend themselves to this type of photography. And yes, I would have made them monochrome. Nice work!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I enjoy street photography with my Nikon Z, 90% time using Tamron z fit 35-150 f/2-2.8.

Loved the stuff at the markets! You nailed those isolated moments, plus the way the sun was just beaming was 🔥. The guy on the drums and the dogs were really nice to.
Ahh thank you!! Markets are such an awesome spot to do street photography. Endless shots hahaha
Thanks for one of the better videos on street photography in recent times. I throughly enjoyed it. I do switch my camera into b/w mode. The results are great. I do like your choice of using the 85mm. It allows me to stay back. Thanks again.
Thank you! So happy to hear you enjoyed the video 🙏🏼
You took some very nice photos. Street photography is something I have been wanting to do for a long time, but I guess I haven't been able to gather up the courage, being quite an introverted person. But your video has inspired me, I think I should give it a go soon.
I am so happy to read that! Just get out there and before you know it your camera battery is empty 😂
This is such a good video, it inspired me to go outside and take pictures. very fun. ❤❤❤
Ahh so happy to hear!! 😊🙏🏼
The first video i watch on this channel and i love the editting and the content in general
Ahh thank you! Happy to hear 🙏🏼
allways the best quality.!!! video top.
amazing photos.
Enjoying your street photography, keep up the good work. Thanks.
Thanks a lot!! 🙏🏼
Those black and white photos are so good. (All of them are good, but o really enjoyed the b/w.)
One of your best videos yet! 🔥 Lots of great images!
Thank you! Really appreciate it 🙏🏼
Photography is in my blood, in my small town (a Dutch 'vestingstad'), my family has always been known as the photographers.
Insanely cool photos, Faye.
Also absolutely so far from my own comfort zone, but these are ace.
Thank you!! So happy to hear 🙏🏼
Thank you, Leo 🎉
Ahh thanks Leo!! 🙏🏼
Happy to hear you could tell I improved as the video went on.

I loved the video you did an excellent job Congratulations ❤
Thank you so much!
Such a good video! your photos turned out so good 🙌🏽
Ah thanks Connor! 😁🙏🏼
Hard to believe that you do not do street much. Some of the photos you got were just freaking incredible. Like I watch my fair share of street fotography conent on RUclips, so I can savely say that you are very good.
Edit: typo
Thanks for your good vibes
this was fun, and makes me want to visit my brother in Melbs! Thanks!
Anytime!! 🫡
I REALLY love the shot of the dude at 21:43 ! Really nice editing, really nice light, and just the perfect amount of bokeh that doesn’t obscure the environment he is in but still separates him from the background.
Thank youu!! Happy to hear 😁
Nice POV and good to watch your journey. I thought the images from day one were great. But, you were defiantly more confident as the week went by, even with how you interacted with others. Really solid video.
Ahh thank you! Appreciate it 🙏🏼
Great video ! Street photography is a big challenge, especially if u never practiced before ! People’s seems so nice there . Not sure I can do same here in France ! Great work ! You’re the best ! 👍💪🤟😜🔥
Faye I think you did exceptionally well and you should do more street photography videos. Love the vibes in your videos.
Ahh thank you! So happy to hear 🙏🏼
Great video!! I love my 70-300 for street ,, I feel like I can get closer to subjects without freaking them out lol 😂
Ahaha! Fair enough. Safe distance haha
Great photos, you make it look easy breeezing through the buttons, which it isn't. I assume that after you show the capture that the image is after edited ? . . . some really cool tones, blueish etc.
Thank you!! Yes I edit all of my photos 🎨
the last day was my fav! the images feel softer
Thank you! 😇
great video! gotta love a good street sesh
Ahh thanks for watching! 🙏🏼
-Amazing fotos!
Love the angles you should Street at.
Love the way you’ve brought us along with your journey. I always enjoy wandering around big cities doing similar, it’s never dull and always different.
Great work, thanks for sharing, looking forward to your next street experience
I know right! So much to see.
Happy you enjoyed the video 🙏🏼
This is my first time I watched video to you and it was so cool
Ahh thank you! 😇
This is so cool! I love this vlog. Hope you do this more often...
Ahh thank you!! Will definitely do so 😁
To me the 2 most difficult disciplines are wildlife and street photography (not street portrat).
Cheers, Tad
Thanks Ted! Definitely head into the city.. so much to see. Maybe try going during blue hour, see the city at a different light 😍
Girl, are you freaking kidding?
One week of street photography and you’ve not done this before?
You are an absolute natural at street photography.
Amazing shots. You’ve got the eye.
Ahh thank you!! Appreciate it 🙏🏼
I love this long format videos !
Thank you! Would love to make more longer video’s in the future 🫢
Nice work!
I know right, so many stories happening in one place. People in a hurry going to their destinations
Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I enjoy street photography with my Nikon Z, 90% time using Tamron z fit 35-150 f/2-2.8.
Thank you!! Happy to hear 🙌
