Legendary. I’m combing RUclips for technique videos at the moment this is really useful. Progress feels so slow at the moment but I guess more time on the bike will help.
Love these instructional videos. Also so much of this is bringing me back to my BMX days. Flow track is basically a bmx track and all these techniques are fundamental to bmx racing.
Fantastic video Blakey you make it look so smooth and clean, great 👍 tips will definitely be putting them to the test , public holiday here today its Australia Day 🇦🇺 GOING FOR A RIDE . Cheers 🍻. You Yangs Australia 👀
Hey GMBN I have a vid idea 😏. I’ve got a pretty old bike and I was thinking maybe you could help me out and make a video about the tech if old bikes (or lack of it) and how to counteract this. For example my reign (2005) has no lockout on the shock and a Reeeaaaaallllly fast rebound (the rebound adjuster doesn’t make a difference). So how could I counteract my rebound while jumping? And how could I counteract my lack of lockout while climbing? Thanks a lot for your many helpful videos (they have saved me many a crash)!
I might be 6 years late but hey I watched the video for the first time just a minute ago. To clarify where he had trouble explaining: He is effectively jumping as high as he can, but he is doing so from only 2/3rds of the way up the face of the jump. He is then pulling the bike up to his body. It feels like you're floating. Jump early when going faster than you need to in order to clear the gap if you want to retain your speed.
Can't help but add a bit of style when out on the trails rather than on a pump track can you. On the pump track you kept it as technically perfect as you could on the trails you couldn't resist getting it a bit sideways. Hahaha. Nice.
Good video but I dont understand, I watched your bunnyhop technique and you (GMBN) really push the "L" shape, there was no bottom half of the "L" AKA the rearward thrust on your hips. it seems to be push down pop up + scoop the rear and push the front. Whats the go? no "L" when jumping? Only use L on flat surfaces and kickers? Cheers!
I'm no expert but I think the L is not needed, as the up side on the double is doing what the L would? Doing an L would probably make you flip out? As in a bunny hop, the bars should make an S shape as you pre load, lift, pull and then push.
you lost me at boosting it on the big trail jump. I get squashing technique and the popping up high technique but how is a boost done? Also the boost looks like a big whip. Is that what you mean by a boost?
I feel like sometimes the builders of my trails get the math wrong on some of these the take offs.... they are super kicky and short take offs and I don’t like them
Hi Kyle, everyone definitely prefers different things! I bet the builder of those trails think's they're just right for them! It's an odd situation as you don't want to be rude to the people who put in the hard work but you may also not want to go find somewhere new to ride!
translation 4:08
so what you wanna do is use that speed to get over the jump, not to get in to the sky
Getting called beautiful human being by Blake 😂
Was leaving school a few weeks ago and met Blake Samson at my local pump track in frome! Now he’s made 2 videos out of it!!!!!! OMG!!!!
Blake your how-to's are genuinely my favourite thing on GMBN
Even when you do it wrong it looks awesome lol, great jumping tips :)
I’m really liking Blake’s presenting lately!
Legendary. I’m combing RUclips for technique videos at the moment this is really useful. Progress feels so slow at the moment but I guess more time on the bike will help.
blake your the man, your videos are so inspiring! made me wanna go ride a dj and improve my skills at 37, thanks!
That 360 at the end is my dream 👌
That's a backflip, a 360 is horizontal spin 😊

Can you do a bump jump tutorial
Isn't it new one in Portsmouth?
Favorite ending ever
This video is even better when you play from 5:10 at 0.25 speed. Try it!
That face on Blake had me hooked
Hey Blake what were the bikes you're using here please? Pump track and trail jumps
It's a Scott Voltage YZ0.1 for the pump track and the Nukeproof Scout on the trails
I’ve been to that pump track, I’ve never realised you could be near me! Where are you guys based?
Can't help but add a bit of style when out on the trails rather than on a pump track can you. On the pump track you kept it as technically perfect as you could on the trails you couldn't resist getting it a bit sideways. Hahaha. Nice.
Digging it lank, bru
Cool
Crazy guy 😂😂😂
are those flat pedals? and at 1:02 your feet position is really front of your feet on the pedals, is it better than just a bit front of middle?
Where’s this pumptrack it looks sick ?
Can you provide a link to the "manual a double" video you mention?
5:05 Trail Goblin!
Yow only 17 dislikes 😍 keep it up🤙
slope style next ????
If I could clone myself as often as you did with Blake, I wouldn't mind to risk the life of some some of those clones either.
#askgmbn Does a sponsored bike ride with chip timing count as my first race? Haha! P.s Love the Vids! bring back your games of B.I.K.E!
i am struggling with one pretty small drop. You HAVe to control your speed and i have never done something like this before . Any tips?
What the huck were you doing at 4:10 😂
#askgmbn What about a visit to Zimbabwe so Blake can show us more of that accent? 🤓
Great video thanks for the tips 188th
What is the brand of the bicycle?

Are you in England ?
Anyone know where that pump track is and where the dirt jumps are?
May I ask where is there trail? (What part in the UK)
I wish I had a pump track nearby...
you lost me at boosting it on the big trail jump. I get squashing technique and the popping up high technique but how is a boost done? Also the boost looks like a big whip. Is that what you mean by a boost?
Boosting is the mid ground between popping up high and squashing really! Getting great height but great distance!
What kind of bike is that?
how do i tell what the widest tire i can put in my bike?
Blake, you are beautiful, we are beautiful -- and my bike will be beautiful when I give it a damned good wash.
