When i first wrote the lyrics for this song i could never have imagined it would get to this stage, and it probably would not have if not for Pete Johns and his Songtember challenge. Thanks to Pete for taking me and this my first ever song project under his wing. Leaened a bunch from this video, so much more to learn too. Awesome comments, glad someone else likes it and yes a punk version would take me right back to London 77
Wonderful to hear my friend. And remember - this was all you. I just helped push you along the path. I’m sure your experience will help motivate many others who have a song in them but just haven’t quite executed on it... yet!!
Yes! It’s one of the neat ways to balance out a sound when just one part is too loud or quiet and you don’t want to get involved with a bunch of automation.
Hey there. I he virtual instruments don’t matter as much because GarageBand will limit these automagically. As long as there is no audible distortion or pumping it is generally fine.
Hi Pete, Where can I find the FX button on garageband MacBook? If it's not available then what would be the alternative? Thanks in advance. Great lesson. 👍🏾
Hey there. In GarageBand Mac you have a master fader you can use. I haven’t used it enough to find it yet though sorry. I would s heck in with the folks at the GarageBand Users Facebook group - studiolivetoday.com/gbu
i have a question so i recorded this song its an rnb song and i like already added the vocal effects in there like the reverse reverb and the stutter effects Would i still be able to mix the vocals cause im aiming for is i want my vocals to stand out more rather just barely being heard and ive had this problem in one other song release where i was told you could barely hear my vocals over the beat
Hey there my friend. I think you may need to explore the compression on your vocals, and also maybe turn everything else down. I'm about to release another video about this track where I show how to automate vocals too which might be interesting for you. Make sure you're subscribed and check that one out.
It's not related but my ipad keeps saying optimising performance. And constantly stopping and was wondering If u know what might be the problem? On garageband
Hey there my friend. Yes, this is a common issue with GarageBand and generally happens when you have a more complex project with many tracks. Here’s a video which explains a little about it and some tips for avoiding it - ruclips.net/video/AcZSGhSvBaE/видео.html And here’s some more tips for better GarageBand performance. ruclips.net/video/36aQaC7ci1E/видео.html
Cheers. Yes, it’s not quite up there with some of the paid apps but for a free solution it’s pretty solid. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. 👍

The admin stuff is just as important as the ‘fun’ stuff.
Sometimes more so. Boring though!
Hey Pete, great work on this mix! On the main drums, it was still clipping. Did you use the visual eq to lower the volume?

Im wondering how to pan multiple vocal
Layers that are harmonies that are not intended to be back up
Yeah, it’s such a Personal choice at the end of the day.
Is clip gain good for quiet vocals in a song with louder instruments?
Automation or clip gain can help balance your mix.
@@PeteJohnsMusic Awesome okay
What are faders? You said something about faders down? 6:35
Faders are volume faders. Hey hat you use to turn the volume up and down on each track.
