Great video guys 👍 as usual of course . Another great body shot that I’ve learned is to throw the left liver shot after your opponent throws a right hand (exposing that side). Hope this can help a few people 🥊
I used some of these techniques to help a guy in the gym. I was catching him all the time with the cross because he’d go for the body and leave his face exposed when he came back up and he was doing the same thing over and over, so I showed him some of these. Great video as always Shane.
Those are great techniques! Especially for beginners. Those are "easy" enough for us newer to the sport to understand and digest. I will use these in my next sparing session!
Shane, this is great. You're emphasis on shoulder movement to make the movement has really helped me understand how to make the movement correctly for moving in and making the main hand hook to the center.
Right?! Mostly because I've noticed how surprisingly effective it can be even if you don't nail the liver. So I really want to master or at the very least greatly comprehend how to perform body shots with or without set up.
Yea, body shots make a huge difference. When I spar usually I will do a couple rounds of almost all body shots. My sparring partners always say they hate it and it gases them out haha
@@cameronmchugh4153 easily my favorite aspect of body shots. Not only does it act as a very useful tool to shut down out boxers but the drain on stamina and willpower is absolutely amazing if it works. Plus you hit them enough downstairs and they start lowering defences upstairs.
Shane, I have been following you for many years. You are the one who made me understand Floyd Mayweather’s style. You are an excellent fighter and an excellent teacher. I appreciate what you are doing.
Thanks for another great video. I appreciate these short, clear demonstrations. I'm a recreational kickboxer and your videos have helped give me greater perspectives and and some really excellent tips.
Been a day one subscriber you might remember me from your old live sessions. So happy to see how your channel grow so big. Keep up the great work brother
Me and my friend box and recored to see our habits and we have come to a realization that we are serious head hunters none of us threw a single body shot XD
Developing good body shots are hard. If your friend is half way decent he’s gonna nail you a couple times while you’re learning to get inside effectively and land those punches. So be prepared to get hit but keep throwing those shots. Put yourself in a position where you’re gonna be able to throw and not be too far outside and missing while still not being so far inside that you’re smothering you’re punches. You’ll get it😃👍🏽
Caleb Barajas good ass advice, and also really good shit recording your sparring sessions, same works for almost anything you are trying to get better at
This video and beat the jab video were great lessons to learn. Your videos have helped me trained my clients on rheir techniques during my classes. Great job and keep up the good work.
Thanks for the clean and clear explanation. Was looking for a way to improve the way I want to teach the basics of body shots, and you showed it on the money.
In kickboxing I like to counter a roundhouse kick by actually jumping into it to throw them off. Then when I wake up i like to remember to not do that all the time.
I am getting ready to fight again on December 7th. Thanks for the fight tips!!! I also enjoyed your switching stances video. Can’t wait to incorporate both during sparring. #subscribed 🙌🏽👊🏽
Been working on my reflexes lately. When I have the adrenaline flowing, I can slip punches like it’s nothing. I dodge them so fast that I even experience a whiplash like effect from dodging/slipping because it’s that spontaneous. Even jabs with all the speed and explosiveness in the person, I’ll still slip them.
If you’re experiencing whiplash from dodging/slipping I’d recommend you to do neck workouts. You could go to a gym and use a neck machine, that’s what I do. What this does is strengthen your neck muscles. Hope this helped :)
...no? In fact, most people who box go to the gym because they got bullied and dont want this shit anymore. The fascination comes after a few days and boxing or martial arts in general become something entirely else.
@@ibuprofen303 what? i never said i was throwing anything in my comment... im confused. i said he was throwing a right while pinning my hands with his jab hand
@@alan-ze5kc I think the confusion srises with you saying "while throwing a right to his body" when I think you mean "while throwing a right to MY body"
love straight right to the body in kickboxing, lots of people don't defend them well.. set em up for the left hook/uppercut with it afterwards. Badr Hari has some KO's doing this. Love it.
When floyd throws a body jab he actually steps his rear foot back a bit as he punches, increasing distance on his withdrawal. Also, Canelo throws the long, reaching left hook to the body with good effect. Timing is everything!
Hi Shane thanks for your great work, your tips are very effective! Can you do a special videos on pivots, with tips and exercices and breaking down on how to pivot on the right side as well? Thanks buddy
About the first tip. That works better if you're taller and just don't use it too much. Some of my sparring partners does that and I always receive them with the good ol' right hand.
Shane any tips for getting lose before sparring or rolling I tend to take to take atleast a round of sparring to warm up cuz I feel a bit stiff/tense even If i warm up before like shadowing or stretching
I got hit in the face two or three times "body sparring" today. That's what brought me to this video 😂 Feel like such a doofus. This helped though. Great vid, thanks so much.
Over my years and youth growing up with dozens and dozens of street fights, I've been quite well at managing to replicate what I've seen in movies.. And body shots are seriously a great thing, esp when done properly. Ya liver shots hurt, but giving some good kidney shots are a thing of beauty to watch the dude cringe in pain, and piss blood for a week.
Shane I love the connect always great but you should upload a video with more advanced techniques for the fans you have that aren’t beginners I’d eat em up! Great work otherwise always been a fan

The rocky movies told me the safest way to land body shots is to use your face as a shield on the way in
They fall for that everytime.
The ultimate strategy.
😂 they never weave or block in rocky 4 lol
