      I bought a $100 Lego and they sent my package (which had a sicker not a Lego) to a different address in my town. Luckily the post office told us the new address and we talked to the person and then we contacted Poshmark and got our money back. I don’t use PayPal so it ended there

      I have a closet set up on poshmark and my listings are to educate people on how to identify scam closets, how they work and how to prove it's a scam for a refund. I also sent you a message through poshmark in a bundle..

    • @jimg8887
      @jimg8887 3 года назад +5

      I know what they gain besides what you have listed. They make a main closet and link all their scam closets (hundreds) to the main one with a referral code. When they make the first sale poshmark pays the main acct 10.00 for the referral.. This 10.00 adds up quickly

    These scammers are relentless! I created a new account on eBay to resell clothes and immediately my listings were selling or i was getting offers for more than the listed amount. After the sale I was receiving emails telling me to call their number so we can discuss payment/shipping options. Negative! I ended up deleting all the listings and going back to my original account.

    Ugh, I’m so sorry this happened to you and glad it worked out. What a headache! I’ve always wondered what their scam was due to the fact that the customer would have to accept the item to get their money. But now I get it. I report these people on the daily. They’re easy to spot but unfortunately create way way too many accounts at a time, no one can keep up. I’ve had them steal my listings pics, descriptions and all. It’s very frustrating!

    FYI - when I order anything used from eBay or Poshmark or Mercari… I start recording the video right before. I’m actually breaking the seal of the package now… Just to protect myself!
    I also take video right before that of the actual label so it’s very clear who it came from, and that it came to me
    Because of a very lease if I get scammed, I can file a police report and I recorded video of me opening the package to prove that I didn’t open it before

      The only info I can they got for sure was your address and name from the shipping label. And I think the scammer knew the funds needs to be released first that’s why they had so many accounts more chances for someone to just accept it before opening thus making profit. Maybe you were hacked twice at same time?

    Oh wow! This is a new scam! Gucci is one to be on the look out. About a month Ago, I was looking for Gucci bags for my mom and I came across a closet that seemed legit. Prices seemed very reasonable. They had photos of the actual item… supposedly… and they had many listing. They promised authenticity etc. on the description. So I felt comfortable. So I added a few small purses to my bundle from this particular seller to make him/her an offer. However, As I was getting ready to make an offer to the seller , his closet suddenly disappeared. I thought the item sold before I could make an offer. I was so confused. So I tried looking for the seller closet, but I kept getting an error message. Nope, that closet completely disappeared. I immediately realize that this was probably a scammer’s closet.

    I agree, the buyers address should not be accessible to the seller. Not sure how that can be done but it needs to be. I'm disgusted with Poshmark now based on my story below. I never buy anything off of Posh from a seller that doesn't have a handful of listings and comments and activity.

    • @Yellowbellyshoe
      @Yellowbellyshoe Год назад

      I disagree … I recently had non sales within two days that totaled over 3000 dollars … all the buyers were different but two and no buyer had a pic nor history nor name other than first name and numerical name, none of the buyers would reply to my “thanks for purchasing your item will ship soon” opening statement… but after checking my labels every single buyer had the same Miami address to of all places a federal building to a security desk….. all delivered to exact same place … once delivered not one person responded … I did get paid after 72hrs but then months later all sales were charged back for stolen credit cards and my money account was stolen out of my accounts …. So yeah I should have known better and not shipped when I saw all those same addresses and no size correlation and no response and also no buyer history but … I have such standing on Poshmark that I thought they would have my back if something went wrong but that was not the case… I also believe what this seller is talking about could have also been the end goal for they got my items and I lost due to not watching addresses carefully enough . Main lesson do not sell to any name with numbers attached and that don’t respond in correct English to you after a sell. Cancel all else

    I have been selling on Posh for 5 years. There is no way a seller can see the payment method of the buyer. However, if you post on your Poshmark your email like where your zip code is posted for all to see (city). However as a seller on eBay a seller can see the email, address and phone number but not one Posh.

    I want to add that a lot of people sell fake reformation dresses on Poshmark too! You think you are getting a great deal on a dress but in reality it's something produced for Aliexpress

      YES!! Fakes on Poshmark is a HUGE problem, especially with brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton

    I bought a massage chair once and received a sheet of stickers with the tracking number the seller gave me. I had called Paypal prior to receiving the package to let them know that I thought I was being scammed because a huge chair would never be sent through USPS. They refunded my money no problem.

    Is it common to have to add a pre-paid card on your account as a new seller? I thought this was a scam, so i didn't continue set up. "-(

    You know what sucks is you can be a posh ambassador and have brands like this you drop the price on because you just want a quick sale and people will think it’s a scam lol

    I’m only halfway through your story time but something similar happened to me I sent out an offer for $200 on an item I really wanted I knew it was too good to be true a couple days later they shipped out the package and the package arrived to my neighbors house with not my name some random lady and they sent me crushed leaves

    Buy and sell using a credit card. Then the bank, not you, will usually be on the hook for a scam. I never use a debit card unless I want cash back at the supermarket.

    Hi I’m contacting you because I just open my Poshmark account and think I was scammed but in a different way, someone wanted to buy my stuff but they contacted me through email and sent me funds that way but it wanted all my credit card information to accept the funds. Is that how Poshmark does it when you are selling your items??

    • @faithhommes3902

    I used to shop on depop and it was very good for me but doesn’t mean there aren’t scammers, with depop your payment gets in your PayPal account as soon as you make a sale, it feels like on poshmark since they keep your money, people will scam more. And the worst with poshmark is that your address is on the package

    Hi faith, I recently got sent a box from poshmark that was empty tiny box too, the seller adamantly denies it saying it was tampered with but the box shows no evidence of that. I even took a video of me opening it. How long did it take for poshmark to side with you?

    How can this even happen? You can’t delete a listing that was sold even after the buyer had accepted the item! Sold items can’t be edited or deleted!

    I had no idea poshmark used PayPal. I did put in an offer for a Canada Goose coat, everything was exactly like you said one listing various sizes. My offer was not excepted so I went on to look for another Canada Goose coat but saw a few listed the same way photo of actual coat with various sizes. The only difference is I don’t have a PayPal account so I think they target people that payment is done with PayPal it might be one of the reasons eBay stopped using PayPal these accounts are easy for scammers to hack

      I just talked to my business Banker today, and they said never ever use your bank account for any online transactions. There is way less protection than if you would use a credit card.
