I was Scammed on Ebay | Sold a fake Coach Bag!

- Hey all, recently I was so excited to but myself a Coach 1941/Originals bag from ebay. I checked out the seller and based on what I could see in the photos, tha bag was authentic! Then it arrived!! So disappointed!!
The bag is a fake, a "fairly good" fake I'd say, but there were far too many red flags and issues.
I explain everything that is wrong about this and indicates it's a fake. So sad.
I didn't mention the seller's ebay name, but prepared to tell you if you're interested!

Such a shame about this bag, Tania!! As soon as you opened the flap and I saw the red "leather" I gasped: it looks horrible on camera. I am glad that ebay was helpful and you are getting a refund. 🤗
I also bought a fake coach bag which was a Coach Tabby. But... I already had 3 Tabbys and the finish and smell gave it away. But I have to say it looked quite impressive. Like you the feedback was 100% so the number of people being scammed was horrendous. I disputed it straight away and received an instant refund.

Wow. Wow. Wow. That's insane! I bought that bag from the Coach store a while ago and it was beautifully made. When you showed the inside of the flap, I actually gasped. Terrible. And the kicker is that note where she thanked you for supporting her small business and asked you to leave a review. The audacity!
Smart that you did not tell her so that she wouldn't improve her scam. I would not have thought of that. Yikes.

So sorry this has happened. I nearly got caught with a Coach Cassie from the USA which was very inexpensive. That is what stopped me. The price was too low. I was lucky. I am sure it was a scam. I forget the price now, but it was just too cheap and I am now sure that the photos were from the Coach website, not of the bag itself. I empathise. I am glad that at least you are getting your money back. But sorry you had to go through that. On eBay, I now mostly stick to Japanese sellers. They are reliable. Thank you for the video and I hope that you soon find an authentic version of this bag.

Oh wow, I got scammed on a Coach bag a few months ago. It was a Basquiat Rogue. It wasn't leathery at all & felt so cheap. I instantly returned it & got a full refund. Of all the pre loved high end bags I've bought over the years (LV, Chanel, etc) & I get duped on a Coach bag!! You have to be so careful.

So sorry this happened to you. The red interior is poor quality. I don’t know how it works in Australia but in the US the coach outlet stores do not provide dust bags. I am not familiar with this style of bag, it may have been a coach reserve bag at the outlet which are coach retail bags moved to the outlet. Too many red flags…glad you were reimbursed 👍🏻

That is so sad that she sold you a fake! I bought a Loewe puzzle bag from a seller that used real photos and a Canadian address but it was a fake Loewe seller from China. PayPal refunded me (thankfully) as it was a ton of money to loose!

Wow, there are some super scammers out there! I bought this bag for a friend from the boutique and unboxed it last year (I think). It was so hard to get, I’m surprised it was even at the outlets! Sorry you got scammed, good thing eBay has the authenticity policy!
Ebay is very good at standing behind buyers. I did not have the same experience with Mercari.
Wow!! That is definitely a fake! I have the exact same bag and all the red flags you pointed are are definitely good points. Also, that bag comes in the old thick cotton dust bag that says 1941. I pulled out my chambray Riley and compared it to yours and yes, unfortunately you were sold a fake. Hope you get your money back!

Just finished watching this one and looked up on ebay and I am assuming I found the seller who scammed you. Ebay didn't ban her and she has three of those bags still for sale and others. Yikes! The dust bag is a dead giveaway too. 1941’s don’t come in sateen dust bags. They’re a heavier cotton material.
Sorry that happened to you. I got scammed on eBay with a fake Louis Vuitton Victorine wallet. I did get my money back, but it was a hassle.
Ikr?! Terrible how some ppl think they can get away with passing off something of poor quality as the original. The dustbag was horrible, but that inside flap was atrocious!!!!! Glad you got your $$ back too!
the most common counterfeit goods on ebay are designer handbags and popular electronic goods, so most people know to avoid them and buy retail. Sometimes the sellers though don't know their item is fake. If it's ridiculously cheap or described as "unwanted gift" (yeah right pfft) those things are red flags.

Hi Tania, yes, I've been scammed on ebay. It was a second hand LV Speedy bandoliere. It came as a top handle only, then, the date code referred to a made in Spain piece, but was stamped made in France. It was a super fake. I got all my money back from ebay, I had also used PayPal, so that was a back up, and then ebay cancelled the seller as a vendor. It was a horrible feeling. Now, what do I do with the fake bag? Haha. (I have a real Speedy now, from the boutique.) Love your channel.

If you look on the front of the bag,the C's are not in a uniform pattern,they're cut off.also the leather inside the bag looks flimsy and plastic

You weren’t scammed by Ebay, you were scammed by a seller. Maybe the seller didn’t know.
I have bought a couple of fakes on Ebay. When they failed authentication, I was refunded by Ebay.

What an awful circumstance. The seller should be ashamed of themselves and their "small business". So glad that you were fully refunded. The only reputable sites that I use are Poshmark and The real real. Thank you for the video! Cheers!

Hi dear!! I think it's a very good fake. However, good pick on the glazing and the fake magnetisdd button at the bag. It is the small details that gave it away. I hope you can return it and get your momey back. TFS and i feel sad for you 😬🥲🥴
OMG that lining is awful! So plastic. That would've given me cause to look closer because the bag did actually look OK. I often think it's kind of funny how close these fakes are, while still getting something so wrong. Totally G!!! She played this fake innocence, "Oh you;re the first person to tell me it's a fake. What makes you say it's not authentic?" At first I was going to say, but then decided not to, so that she doesn't hide those flaws better. IT was terrible. YOu're right, overall it actually looked "good". :-(
This may not be fake as much as bad quality. It’s only the vintage bags that are good quality. Their 1941 collection isn’t the same.
Hi there. I was just looking at 2 sellers on Ebay for the Coach Legacy Lily Black 65th Anniversary Satchel Shoulder Bag... Both had new bags with tags on them. Both had 100% good reviews. Hey there, the seller is based in Queensland Australia. Where was the one you looked at based?
Coach outlet is a line of bags coach makes just for coach outlet. They have F in the number for factory inside the bag. Coach outlet bags don’t come with the dust bags. They sell very few if at all retail bags at their outlets. Their 1941 bags would never be at an outlet.
I knew they don't give dustbags. There were so many inconsistencies with this item, and I also knew they don't sell 1941 pieces at their outlets. However, I've watched some youtubers who've explained that they managed to score a 1941 piece at the outlet. I imagine those instances are few and far between!

Seems like there are a lot of fake furla bags out there too! I’ve noticed that leather bags aren’t as common in Asia due to the price (and many people buy cheap trendy vinyl bags as they’re more affordable)
The 1941 dust bags aren’t not the “satin” material. They are a thicker cotton type bags.

Really love *rrcopys* 's wallet. The fabric is fine. Gold touches add a nice touch. Perfect for when you don't need tote size. I got some compliments when I went to church

Hello there. I'd be hard pressed to remember what I paid for this bag. I'll have to go back and check my ebay history. And yes, Ebay was very good about it, they refunded me quickly. The seller did not argue, that's a sign to me that they knew what they were doing was wrong.

The Riley 22 top handle is available right now on the Coach outlet website for $148 and not as part of the "Reserve" collection. It may have the 1941 hangtag, but the outlet website does not advertise it as part of the 1941 collection which was only available at the retail level. It would seem odd to fake a bag with such a low price point. Have you considered that maybe it's just poor manufacturing by COACH and not a fake. The outlet bags in general are very poor quality compared to the retail pieces especially when it comes to quality of the materials. As for the erroneous tag that says "wallet", that is something I could see being done at an outlet store....not to deceive, but in error or laziness.
Thnx so much for your detailed comment. I know that Coach no longer labels their items as the 1941 or Original line, especially at the outlet. You could be right to some extent regarding the tag error, who knows. But the leather quality was definitely not to the standard I'm family with. That leather inside the flap was so thin, too shiny and there was no padding between the two layers of "leather" and the chambray. Too many issues for me. I've purchased from the outlet before and the quality is definitely better than this item.

At a consignment shop I frequent, they authenticate everything. When someone tries selling a fake, the fake gets turned into plant pots! Maybe you could do that with yours!
When you get sold a fake on Ebay, they have you send it back to the seller.

The liner of the bag might be what's called leatherette, which is made with a slurry of leather bits and some artificial material. Not real leather. I bought a pair of leatherette barrel chairs at an estate sale, and instantly hated them. I ended up selling them for less than what I paid and lost $100 in the deal, which was fine with me. Of course I told the buyer what they were and why I hated the chairs but she could not be discouraged.

So sorry this happened to you! I got scammed on ebay and could not resolve it at all. I sold an authentic mulberry bag and the buyer claimed it was fake and sent it back to me. But what she returned to me was NOT the bag I sent to her. Ebay and PayPal forced me to refund her. So I was out money and stuck with a fake bag. Now if I sell a bag I take pictures first. I only really sell now to friends on IG or to Fashionphile. Never on ebay!

This isn’t what people refer to as the original coach. It’s the vintage coach from the 70s, 80s and 90s. This is a new bag.
Agreed, definitely a new bag style, and unfortunately quite fake. Its feel and smell were wrong. That inner lining was terrible.
My reference to the originals line is what Coach is calling their 1941 range now.

Everyone if you want to purchase on eBay everything brand name just make sure the seller has put the real pictures of the item and details with a bright lighting.. some seller really professional taking real pictures with every detail but most of scammers they only taking pictures from google with no real pictures or the real pictures they put so blurred.. be aware

I also thought EBay doesn’t allow returns of fakes because it just goes to another suspected person.
I've no idea on what their policy is regarding this. But I was able to return. I was given a refund, and I reported the seller.
Yes, energy-Japan sold me a fake LV Wallet; I worked with EBay for a refund. Took a while but came thru!!!

I've only been scammed just once in my life, but it wasn't on ebay, it was from Facebook. From what happened, I purchased a Beauty and the Beast themed loungefly backpack and all I received was a disposable grey colored face mask. I later realized it was someone out of state faking out a loungefly backpack sale, and as I saw it again pop up on Facebook, I've made a comment about my scammed story. Someone made a comment that the same thing happened to her about receiving the same mask as well.

1941 tag always combines with the bag color not the handle 😂 and the hardware will never look cheap . The dust bag should said Coach 1941 not Coach New York. It’s Unbelievable the nerve they have 🤬 .

I honestly trust eBay for nothing. I have been sold used and dirty items listed as new from sellers with good reviews four times… I will NEVER use eBay again.
I actually had a bad experience with Mercari recently as well. The audacity of sellers to scrap people and say items are new and picture unopened items and sell clearly opened/used items that say things like “tester” or “display” once they’re received is disgusting.
I hear you and I have been burned a few times, but I've also had some luck. It's definitely tricky to navigate! I agree, Why do these ppl have to be so unscrupulous? Just be honest...
That’s definitely a fake, so many red flags. Also the switch around with the wallet tags, and receipt, definitely trying sell a fake. Probably scammed A lot of people with that feedback.
