    Special Note: I found out recently that the Complex Dream was part of a 5 year agreement between Square Enix and Wright Flyer Studios, after which the collab "ends". Only SE has these stipulations with their Another Eden collabs, so the collabs with Namco, Atlus etc. have no time limit are will remain in the game indefinitely. Hopefully Wright Flyer and SE will be able to reach a new agreement and keep Complex Dream within Another Eden, as it would be a shame to see it go.
    This video was made and scheduled for release before Toriyama-sensei passed. Heartbreaking news to hear of his passing the day of this video's release, as today was supposed to be a celebration of his great work, at least on my channel. Rest in peace, king.

    Excellent video, and great how you really include everything! (Chrono really makes this possible in-universe as well, given the whole parallel worlds shtick - they all potentially "exist"). And great that you give Crimson Echoes the love it deserves - it's absolutely excellent.

    • @gregtroyan
      @gregtroyan  22 дня назад +1

      I'm glad you enjoyed the video. A lot of folks in the comments got really upset at me including anything other than CT, CC, and RD, but I felt all of these games were worthy of discussion here, and it's nice to see someone else appreciate that. Crimson Echoes is really great and any diehard Chrono fan is missing out by not playing it.

      One day I wanna make a video kinda similar to this, but here's my ranking of all the Chrono-like game I've played
      Radical Dreamers
      Sea of Stars
      I Am Setsuna
      Final Fantasy Dimensions II
      Chrono Trigger
      Lost Sphear (yes, I loved this game, I'm as shocked as everyone else)
      Xenogears (so far)
      Chrono Cross (my guess?)
      Chained Echoes

      There are a few different sources. Interviews with Takahashi and Mitsuda verify this. Wikipedia links an interview with Takahashi (in Japanese) and if you do a Google search you can find the Mitsuda one easily. I'm not linking them because RUclips tends to mark them as spam, even on my own videos, but just head to the Xenogears Wikipedia, go to "Development", and read the first paragraph.

      @gregtroyan Unfortuntately, no part of it survived. To be clear, I was an amateur and a child just doing it for myself, so it probably wasn't good. Still wish I had it though. I had a lot of fun adapting Radical Dreamers. How restrictive RD's narrative was made it a challenge, though still veeerrrryy short.

      Lunar is so weird, like 15 years ago when I had my PSP I kept hearing about how good it was but for some reason the cover art and character design never pulled me in, so I always picked something else to play.

    • @Beerpowered
      @Beerpowered 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@Ocean5ix Lunar Silver Star Story Complete is one of those games that should be played on a PlayStation hooked up to a CRT TV. Sure you can get it on PSP or GBA but it's on a smaller screen and those two versions were remakes. You can emulate it, but because most screens are LCD with 16:9, legacy games look noticeably worse, more pixelated than they would on a 4:3 CRT. Widescreen hacks stretch the image or you deal with black bars all around on 16:9. It definitely kills the vibe.
      Think of it like watching a movie at home, versus watching it on your phone, versus watching one at the theater with friends. All versions are watchable, but the experience is different and so is the impression it leaves.
