Michael Jackson still has the TOP ratings for a Super Bowl. This is the LA Times 1993: "In the United States TV ratings for Super Bowl XXV11 were 45.9 in California and 45.1 Nationally, indicating an estimated 133.4 million U.S. viewers. Michael Jackson's halftime show did 46.3 and 45.5 nationally, which is higher than the game itself."
No one mentions how The Weeknd managed to pull it off with all those restrictions. He even spent money from his pocket to create a stage that would make the transitions between every song. He got creative since everyone was asked to wear a mask and he made it fit with the face surgery denunciation thing he did on the AMAS. After that, you can like his music or not but he put so much effort to make something good and create a lot of energy within the stadium even though it was almost empty. Props to him for that!
I think had The Weeknd been giving the headlining spot for a “normal year” it wouldn’t have been as good as it was. No offense to him, I don’t know much about him other than the songs I hear on the radio and The Idol, but he doesn’t give me show stopping halftime performance. And although I have no way to prove this and it really is just a gut feeling, I think had covid not happened at all, The Weeknd probably would not have been asked to do the halftime show
I'm not even a Weeknd fan but I would say his performance was one of the all-time greats of the halftime show. Given the restrictions, we should have expected a disaster, but his team went all out with the set design and created something unique. That mirrored hallway is unforgettable, and The Weeknd's performance through was impeccable.
The Dre/Snoop/Eminem/Kendrick halftime told the story of the last 30 years of west coast hip hop through performance, outfit, and set design choices in a way that I've never really seen before.
I think prince singing purple rain under actual rain is the most iconic moment in the history of live music! But the Dr Dre performance was an easy S tier to me! I live in Italy and I grew listening west coast rap... I remember I watched it at 7am and I got very emotional when Dre played I ain't mad at cha! If you're not a fan of hip-hop music you don't really know what that performance meant to us, all over the world
I was alone in a Mexican restaurant when Prince played his halftime show, which they had on a big screen. I was totally blown away and will always remember that moment.

@@logo115 All these artist were able to 10 PLUS YEARS LATER come up with lighting and everything else to make performances different. MJ in 1993 used what was a DAY TIME show and incorporated the audience into the show. He was the FIRST. Now days it's about flashing lights and other things not just performing on stage.. I'm sure if MJ was doing it in 2007, he would have done it differently because he was always ahead of his time. That's why his videos are still CLASSICS.
@@logo115 Also, MJ used this platform for something more important to HEAL THE WORLD. That's was his mission back then which is why he incorporated a sea of children images around the stadium. He would have never had a moment like this wasted on just his music. There were wars and kids dying at this time and the message of peace and caring about the dying children was more important. Ironically 6 months later after his performance, they started the allegations.
How MJ is not in the S tier when he’s the reason all these artists are able to do elaborate performances at the Super Bowl is beyond me. He’s also the only artist to get paid for it(went to his charity) and had 134 million viewers which was half of the country’s population at the time.
I think it could have done a lot more. The man just catapulted up and sat there on stage for over 2 minutes doing nothing. 2 minutes is not an insignificant amount of time for SuperBowl performances. Combined with the audio being kinda meh (not his fault), I think it hits very close to S but just needed a little more to reach it. Compare it to Prince's performance, which, even in the rain, is just a blast all the way through and Prince goes for it right from the start. No showy theatrics or 2 minute power poses - just BAM welcome to my concert and in the end that's the kind of thing that distinguishes the S tier form the A. That's why Beyonce and Lady Gaga edge out over MJ. They waste no time in their performances. All of it is use to perform and they go for it.
Rihanna was never the kind of performer that Beyoncé is, or even Lady Gaga is. It makes sense that her hits would carry the show more than any elaborate choreography. It's hard to have a bad show with all those hits. So for what it was, it was fine. And the visual of her on the platform was really cool, so bonus points for that from me.
The songs were definitely what carried the act. The dancing was subpar at best and and it just didn’t seem as electric as other performances. It wasn’t bad, just not my cup of tea.
@@shootin_quickgg1559it wasn’t supposed to be electric, that was the art of it. Hence her walk and steady pace. Clearly only folks that appreciate art, appreciate this performance, which is why the real critics have been giving it a 5/5. This performance will become the new trend, I promise.
It truly reminded me how much of a force she was in 2000s-2010s pop music. Kind of coasted into B tier on nostalgia alone. The feat of engineering for those platforms pushes it to B+ 😂
He was still the best performer and had many tours , and was tired , infact that's how he died , he was the one making the beats in some of his songs and making those sound effects and was singing + dancing on tours with his voice perfectly similar to the ones in his music videos , and we have proof he was the one singing too so that little detail might not change anything since alot of today's singers do that , and even use autotune.@@SnoopyM4
Finally Gaga's half-time getting the recognition it so rightfully deserves! It truly amazes me how she did all of that in just 12 minutes. Iconic, if you ask me!
Imagine if she cut Million Reasons short she could’ve done even more but her being one of the only performers who didn’t lip sync and stayed on pitch the entire time WHILE doing choreography just shows that she’s one of the best and most talented artists of all time.
It's weird to me that Gagas was places in S tier but Katy Perrys was placed in A tier. Katy Perrys performance and show was at worst on par with Lady Gagas.
@@stephenmcnichol5744 Gaga’s performance required way more energy/stamina for the entire performance. She jumped off the roof of the stadium, served live vocals whilst simultaneously doing intense choreography. Oh and to top it off she caught a touchdown right at the end. So yeah S tier deserved! 💅🏽
Gaga who was just been suffering from her fibromyalgia attacks but still performed with that amount of energy is fucking insane. She really is a born star, shining is her life purpose.
No joke! I have fibromyalgia and it sucks your energy into a black hole. I’m sure she crashes hard after performing but getting out there and doing what she does it that much more incredible given what she’s working through.
My Queen GaGa's half time show 1.jumped from the roof 2.was on live for full 13 minutes 3.danced 4.played two instruments How was that even possible! Incredible Queen!
IMO hers is the best in terms of quality and performance. Just saying. In terms of her fame and people knowing majority of her repertoire, not really. Just her main hits. She was in my opinion the best designed and set up.
I still hold that "Weird Al" Yankovic headlining, and bringing in a bunch of the artists he parodied to sing along, would make for a killer halftime show.

Fun fact, the 2010 superbowl halftime show is one of the main reasons LMFAO broke up as a group. I dont remember their names, so I'll just use afro and other. Somehow, one of the disks in Other's back slipped and basically couldn't move until the show was over. After the show was over, he had to go to the hospital and wasn't able to travel with Afro until the rest of LMFAO's tour was over. Meanwhile, while Other was in the hospital, Afro never once reached out to Other and didn't even bother to ask him back on tour, so of course this put tremendous strain on their relationship and they broke up.
I was tending bar at a packed pub during the 2002 Super Bowl, and let me tell you, when Bono ripped open his jacket to reveal the American flag, there wasn't a dry eye in the joint. I'll never forget it. The most emotional of halftime shows.
I'd say the Dr. Dre & friends halftime show was the only one that didn't noticeably suffer from happening during daylight, because seeing the audience jamming and enjoying the show in the background actually added to the atmosphere. (Usually the audience is pretty dead, that's why Superbowls in the past relied so much on manufacturing crowd hype by bringing all those people onto the field with instructions to be hyper, etc.).
Could they top Prince's show WITH EVERYTHING PLAYED AND SINGED LIVE under a TORRENTIAL RAIN? It was rhetorical, you don't have to answer... Also, people where there jumping, dancing and enjoying wet 'till the bones. No matter how many videos, tier lists, rankings or monkeys people do: PRINCE was THE KING. And nobody will take his purple throne in years. Maybe decades or centuries.
Rihanna’s halftime show I feel like was in the exact same situation as the Weeknd’s Both shows had to deal with circumstances that really limited the shows’ potential (covid & pregnancy), everyone expected more from both shows, but also know that they did very well considering the restrictions, putting them both side by side in B tier sounds perfect to me
To me there is a difference : Nobody chose Covid to happen, the Weeknd just had to deal with it. They could have given Rihanna every other Superbowl to perform in and it would have been better.
I just wish they would have given him the show later in his career. At this point he would tear that shit up to S Tier. He is just a performer like Beyonce, Gaga, Prince, MJ.

@@ajollypanda4175 I'm not too sure about that though. MJ not being an S teir is ridiculous. As a 12 year old in 93, this was an amazing performance! He popped up seemingly out of nowhere at the top of the stadium! He set the tone for superbowl halftime shows and changed it forever!
Well, I would even place it a tier lower, he didn’t sing live during that performance. I know since the 90s he pretty much always relied on playback, but that shouldn’t be an excuse.
I still get chills watching Prince play "Purple Rain" during that halftime performance. That is EASILY the best SB Halftime show and it'll be hard to top.
Prince's performance would be #1 even if it hadn't rained. Except for the Twinz, who danced at all his concerts at the time, he didn't need groups of dancers, gimmicks or anything but him and his guitar. The rain certainly added to the drama, but anyone who's ever been to one of his concerts knows what a magical experience it was. His charisma and remarkable talent were apparent even in a giant stadium with thousands of people. Still the top of the list and probably always will be.
To this day... I still believe Janet's halftime should have JUST BEEN Janet's. There was ZERO reason that she had to share the stage with all of these other artist while yet AGAIN Justin Timberlake being on stage.
A lot of the late 90s/early 00s shows were a few different artists mixed in so I get it, but Janet was one that should and could have pulled off a solo halftime. She was THE hit maker before they brought her down.
She's half a Micheal at best. Maybe a quarter. Which is still 99% more then the rest of her siblings combined. But she was lucky to share the stage with Justin.
I did not watch that Super Bowl halftime show. I left the party and hung out. I had no interest in pre-DikInaBox Justin Timberlake as he still had that boy band stench on him. Janet after 2 decades of constant hits was entering a decade of irrelevance, her hits having dried up 6 years prior. Kid Rock was there didnt help. I didnt hear about the controversy until the next day at school. It did bring an era of conservative restriction on TV and radio with FCC threatening huge FCC fines. That pared with the start of the Iraq War and the Bush era, the mid-2000s were a bleak time. Thats when Sirius and RUclips and online platforms grew quickly after as a result to skirt the FCC and its oppression on traditional mediums.

@BDeLuca4444 Well that's true I know I'm older now...But I did have the Lord of the Flies to read as an assignment. when I was in high school. Teaching in this modern day and age I feel youth would benefit more from actual literature nowadays, but most importantly discuss it debate it. You don't see that anymore.
I don't think people value Madonna's halftime show the way it deserves. It literally changed the game and set the bar for the next ones. Plus she was pretty great considering she was +50 years old and more than 30 years into her career
I absoultely loved how she used the floor to project really awesome visuals. Made it look like a MUCH bigger event when it was just projection. That was the FIRST, ok besides MJ, that was pure spectacle and I was absolutely there for it. We just need to keep getting A tier musicians and the NFL can keep being huge just for the half time.
It’s refreshing seeing non Beyoncé fans giving her props instead of downplaying. I saw her perform live and she definitely knows how to put on a show, and the mic was definitely on!
@madisonatior4414 I love them both but I do believe Rhianna's halftime show should've been rated higher than it was. Mainly bcuz of her hits and her dancers were soooo perfectly in sync they were amazing. Then she did it all while she was pregnant ❤😂

Can we talk about how the female headliners typically have better costuming? It applies to the (western, at least) music industry in general and concerts outside of the Super Bowl, too. Beyonce, Gaga, Katy, Shakira and JLo all had notable costume changes during their Super Bowl shows. I'd really like to see the guys put in similar effort on that front.
It’s because they do have more options when it comes to costuming, from leotards to bodysuits, they have a wide variety of options to pick from, while male performers only have pants or shorts as main choice…not excusing it because there can be room for creativity within those limits, but I think overall female performers just deliver better energy and usually have a much better catalogue of all time hits
Michael Jackson not being in S tier is still wrong. He literally saved the halftime show and paved the way for every show afterwards. Without Micheal, there is no Prince, Gaga etc. Consider this... who inspired Beyonce's look for SB 50? Hint: it wasn't Prince.

I rate Michael Jackson and Prince in their own category as GOAT above S. Michael for increasing the amount of people watching the half time shows and Prince for playing in the rain. I went back and watched a lot of the half time shows. Thank you for putting this together ❤️
Michael Jackson had The MOST WATCHED Super Bowl 1/2 show in HISTORY with 134 million. More people watched his 1/2 show than the game and that's A FACT. They don't include it because it came before 2010. So only Super Bowls after are included and that's how the others took the lead. 🤣 You have to EXCLUDE MJ in almost everything if you want OTHERs to compete. Otherwise, they will have him at the TOP of everything since he broke so many records with only 4 solo albums. 🤣
Shakira and J Lo’s deserves a special look just for the music direction and camera work. The medley is perfect, music perfectly balanced, camera angles planned to an inch, you can see the scoreboards in the background turn off when they are in the TV shot, transitions use clever key changes… I’m not even a Shakira or J Lo fan but the creatives in charge of that show deserve every award. It hits so much harder if you understand music.
You really summed it up about Rihanna's performance, some feature, any feature would've been nice. Yes she's pregnant which excuses the lack of choreo, but she's SO low energy that the dancers can barely save the vibes, and the stage people gave up after coming up with the smash bros platform
The Weeknd deserves at least an A for giving this amazing performance despite the covid restrictions. And you should've mentioned the vocals. He did not lip sync, it was a real live performance and he gave everything! The Weeknd's HALFTIME SHOW IS a TOP A.
For what it's worth, Katy had Missy on the Last Friday Night remix back in 2010. Missy Elliott was very well known for having her videos bring new life and layers to her songs, and Katy was definitely inspired by her in that element and went on to have a similar legacy in music videos. I think it was actually really fitting to have Missy guest in her halftime show
Easily one of the best reviews I’ve watched. Your sense of humor being incorporated into this video was my highlight! Too many great remarks 😆 If only you do this for other shows too !
I completely agree with your placing of Rihanna's halftime. It was great seeing one of my favorite childhood singers onstage again, but it could have been so much more. Then again, it's impressive enough that she was able to do this while pregnant, because according to my mom, pregnancy makes you very tired. Also, does left shark's name refer to Katy's left or the viewer's left?
I've whined about this everywhere but my personal issue with her performance was the chosen catalog. She has some of the best ANTHEMS and yet she chose to sing two songs that weren't hers and other two that weren't as massive. For example, she could've sang Don't Stop The Music instead of Pour it Up. Also, idk if it's just me but it seemed like she performed just for compromise, not because she's passionate about music anymore.
Out of all of them, I think prince delivered the most amazing superbowl halftime show of all. The rain wasn't even in the plan, but he stuck with it, made it work, and made something unforgettable.. That Purple Rain hits different
You just cant deny how amazing of a performer beyonce is. I don’t typically listen to her song but when she performs i just KNOW i will like it more than the studio version. The energy is just insane
The Weeknd is really a little underrated here. Like the transition down to the field with House of Balloons drums transitioning into Blinding Lights was phenomenally done. But I have to admit I like it a lot because im a huge fan of him and his music. TAMPAAA BAAAAAAAAAAY
To not MJ be the first S tier performance is insane. He changed everything so I feel like him being the reason why we changed the way we view the half time shows should’ve solidified him as the first S tier.
GAGA absolutely deserves S tier. My favorite halftime ever! Sings live the whole time, dances and flys through the air...needs no guest. Utterly perfect!!! Perfection!❤

I was most surprised by Katy Perry's show. I had low expectations but she just came out and went absolutely bananas with the spectacle and let it rock. As they say, the moment was not too big for her. She came out and just owned it with charisma to burn. I think other shows were better (Prince's absolutely stands alone; I remember watching it at the time and just being blown away), but Katy really delivered everything you could want in a Superbowl halftime show.
I really think this was a very well done Supercut of the Tier List. I do like the little changes you did to the original like making the opening new to match the current Super Bowl ,the new changes on the tier list for the 2 other show (U2 and Lady Gaga) , an new opening card for Shania Twain, Transitions for the The Who to Black Eye Peas, The Weekend to Hip-Hop legends, and Hip-Hop legends to Rihanna and the removal of an AD, but no one's complain about that. So overall, I say you did a good job. I do hope you keep updating this list, not to the degree of another Supercut (at least for a good while) but more just a 1-2 Min. Quick Video or something along those lines.
As someone who LOVES The Who, they shoulda deferred their show for a year to not only understand the assignment more (it’s the freakin Super Bowl) but also to let Roger Daltry recover from his vocal surgery more. Doing it in 2011 coulda been so sweet (and saves us from Black Eyed Peas)
I was a senior in high school during Prince's performance. Man it was transcendent and it was even more perfect that I was a Colts fan at the time. But that performance was amazing.
So spot on about Rihanna. I’ve gone back to the show but just to listen to it - it’s like the best Rihanna megamix but visually there’s not too much to hold my attention (although those dancers and platforms are working hard). Whereas with Gaga or Beyoncé or Prince I can’t just listen to those shows I always stop and watch.
I won't lie, I agree with much of what you've said, but the Coldplay x Bruno x Beyonce show is insanely underrated overall and on your list. I think when it comes to what it looked like, it wasn't as flashy as many others, but at the end of the day, what matters is how it makes you feel, and it was more inspiring than almost every other halftime show. Definitely not the best of them, but it's ignorant to not rank it even near the top, in my opinion. But, again, these are just my thoughts, but it did hit home with a LOT of audiences and was highly unique in the type of successful show it accomplished, not relying on the flamboyancy that we find in most high-level halftime shows.
Yeah I wanted to add what made especially Beyonce's portion of that show so important that I think it was one of the most brave/political things she could've done/has been done on the Superbowl stage. I think folks forget this was the same years as the kneeling controversy with Black athletes protesting the murders of Black people. She dropped her video for Formation the day before, which largely critiqued police violence and then dressed as Black Panthers because of where that game was taking place- in Oakland, the birthplace of the black panthers. After, plenty of people folks were calling for her Boycott.
Honestly have to disagree. Coldplay, as the headliner, are just kind of mid throughout. Beyonce and Bruno are both fantastic, especially Beyonce, but he's right in describing it as disjointed. I've re-watched most of these plenty of times, and unfortunately that's one where I feel like I can skip a whole portion of it just to get to the good part.

It deserves recognition for changing half-time shows forever, but that doesn't mean it should be ranked higher than it objectively deserves.

The Weeknd is definitely the one I would put higher.

MJ should’ve performed his biggest hits and he would’ve been S tier for sure
Rihanna was never the kind of performer that Beyoncé is, or even Lady Gaga is. It makes sense that her hits would carry the show more than any elaborate choreography. It's hard to have a bad show with all those hits. So for what it was, it was fine. And the visual of her on the platform was really cool, so bonus points for that from me.
I loved the performance. Her songs are timeless and make you want to dance and sing. Ending with Diamonds on the stage so high up was spectacular.
The songs were definitely what carried the act. The dancing was subpar at best and and it just didn’t seem as electric as other performances. It wasn’t bad, just not my cup of tea.

Divas pop no geral sempre entregaram shows muito melhores.
No. We can't talk about that.

The “step back from the guacamole dip” line should be the intro to every Super Bowl halftime show as it cuts in from commerical
Michael Jackson not being in S tier is still wrong. He literally saved the halftime show and paved the way for every show afterwards. Without Micheal, there is no Prince, Gaga etc.
Consider this... who inspired Beyonce's look for SB 50? Hint: it wasn't Prince.
So true ❤
haha give me a break...... "Without Micheal, there is no prince"...... you absolutely know nothing about music..... MJ is MJ and Prince would definitely still be prince regardless of what MJ is doing.
@@bmwrockstardj aaaaand you totally missed my point.
When I said there would be no Prince, I didn't mean as an artist. I meant Prince playing at the SB halftime show would have never happened if Mike hadn't showed us all how good it could be.
@@MisterDarren So? Just cause he did something doesn't mean it was better than others
He shouldn't get privileges just for being Michael Jackson. If a performance isn't S tier, it simply isn't S tier, no matter who performs it.
I really liked The Weekend’s performance. Music was good and they did some cool stuff with what they had.
Prince needs his own level. His halftime show is, and will forever be, the greatest of all time.
NGL, I don't get the hype. He was great, but from the way you all talk about it, I was expecting a lot more.
@@deviantmoore9744 It’s overrated not much of a spectacle like MJ’s which is beyond S tier tbh👑🌟💯
@@Milkers777 I agree. I was honestly more shocked and amazed watching Springsteen than Prince. I'm not really a fan of the genre of music Bruce makes, but seeing him move like that doing knee drops and some foot work really blew me away. I didn't know Bruce could moved liked that!🥴
@@deviantmoore9744 yeah I think some of these ppl don’t be on the same planet as us bc 🌚🌚🌚
@DeviantMoore What makes his so great is he performed in the pouring rain. Lol then go figure the song purple rain. Honestly his was the best. Had the twins dancing in those heels on a wet stage, playing that electric guitar in the rain. His was the best period
Michael Jackson saved and revitalized halftime show formats as a whole. Prince, Bruno Mars, and Beyonce were also some of my personal favorites.
Bruno's performance should be moved up a tier. He had energy and reminded me of the old school funk and Motown performers.
I agree, at least A tier. He only didn't like it because of the Red Hot Chili Peppers performance and transition to the next song, but the performance itself was definitely S tier worthy.
Definitely should've been A tier.
Bruno in 2014 don't have his popular hit song back then but still landed in B category still impressive if we can remake Superbowl performer maybe he hit S
I found his performance super boring personally. Gaga, Shakira, Beyonce, Jackson and Prince all had the best ones.
I never thought micky mouse would say "thank you to are armed forces everywhere."
Madonna was the blueprint of modern Super Bowl performances. She set the bars. You could’ve given her at least an A.
The fact he didn't even bring up Elizabeth Taylor shows he didn't get the full concept of her show
Very true. She set the highest bar.
This is a BLM thread
B is a joke. Definitely S and anything below A is just dumb.
I don’t like her, but I do believe she deserved an A. Also MJ deserves an S
Ok learning the history of 'Winter Magic' and how it was a ratings bomb and how the NFL followed that up with _THE FREAKING KING OF POP at the absolute height of his fame_ does a whole lot to explain how the Superbowl Halftime Show became what it is today.
Coldplay is never a bad idea
Coldplay is always a bad idea.
Shakira and J Lo’s deserves a special look just for the music direction and camera work. The medley is perfect, music perfectly balanced, camera angles planned to an inch, you can see the scoreboards in the background turn off when they are in the TV shot, transitions use clever key changes…
I’m not even a Shakira or J Lo fan but the creatives in charge of that show deserve every award. It hits so much harder if you understand music.
REAL
S++ tier for Shakira
For real, I was expecting a lot more comments about it, I'm so confused, isn't it the halftime show with the most views in youtube?
Not to mention all the ass that was shaken
That was a surprise performance I didn’t expect to like it
You really summed it up about Rihanna's performance, some feature, any feature would've been nice. Yes she's pregnant which excuses the lack of choreo, but she's SO low energy that the dancers can barely save the vibes, and the stage people gave up after coming up with the smash bros platform
Watching your childhood from a historical perspective is rather unsettling, but also just interesting. Thanks for this!
The Weeknd deserves at least an A for giving this amazing performance despite the covid restrictions.
And you should've mentioned the vocals. He did not lip sync, it was a real live performance and he gave everything!
The Weeknd's HALFTIME SHOW IS a TOP A.
nah bros mixer sold the bag tbh his mic wasn't as loud as it should have been
It was boring.
@@Rios632 lmaooo okay u put on a show then
@@Rios632 you sound boring
I don’t disagree but the sound quality made it a joke for me. Bet he preformed it fine but the sound quality wasn’t great and kinda ruined it for me
Lady Gaga's live vocals, choreo and solo performance was definitely S tier. Loved this list.
Also, does left shark's name refer to Katy's left or the viewer's left?
viewer's left. little harder to tell with muted audio tho, they're just vibing
Right, still
Queen tho
Agreed on b tier she was lip singing too
I've whined about this everywhere but my personal issue with her performance was the chosen catalog.
Yeah and she looked tired and like she didn’t want to be there and she couldn’t even hide that she was lip syncing
how the hell did they go from MJ to Indiana Jones.......LMAO AHAHHAHAHAHAH I'M FREAKING DYING FROM LAUGHTER.
Patti Labelle was there 💅🏽
Lady gagas was a 10/10 for me
"My name's Kendrick Lamar and i'll be performing at Superbowl 59." 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Beyonces halftime was an athletic event. She was literally born to do this
Out of all of them, I think prince delivered the most amazing superbowl halftime show of all.
The energy is just insane
she is truly a once-in-a-generation talent and one of the greatest performers of all time imo
29:21 ayo leave my boy left shark alone. he's just trying to live his best life hahaha
The Weeknd is really a little underrated here. Like the transition down to the field with House of Balloons drums transitioning into Blinding Lights was phenomenally done. But I have to admit I like it a lot because im a huge fan of him and his music. TAMPAAA BAAAAAAAAAAY
Agreed
I think it's really damn good. Almost Prince level, but not quite.
Exactly
“Anytime you notice audio mixing during a show, the techs have failed their job”. 🤣🤣🤣 WELL SAID!👏🏽

bruno mars 2014 performance is one of the most underrated sb shows. i saw it in person and the fireworks made it so much better
Completely agree. He performed so well and it must be been even better to see it in person. It deserves a higher ranking for sure.
imagine if bruno made show now with his songs omg gl to all except prince and mj
This dude was a straight hater for that one!!
They also could’ve gotten Paul McCartney to do four five seconds with Rihanna since he was also in attendance lol
No one woulda wanted that. Stop it.
@@Xaethrontfu, f-fs is amazing
@Ssbbmaster1234 it literally has no place with the rest of the sound track. Stop it.
@@Xaethron not every track for a halftime show has to be super high energy. Half the songs from the one with eminem, 50 cent, snoop dogg etc weren’t high energy
OMg I forgot all about that song 💀
I agree with every single ranking ! I think the best way to describe Rihanna’s Super Bowl is “missed opportunities “ and ANTI-climactic
But she was also pregnant and I understand the limitations that presents
Plus Rihanna just kinda sucks but they could’ve brought Eminem back to do monster or love the way you lie
Jay-Z was in the stadium all she had to do was have him perform Umbrella with her. Plus Eminem doing song with her was a missed opportunity
No pun intended 😂
@badguy565 Lolol right only people who know her catalog gets the irony in my comment 😂
Dr Dre, Snoop , Eminem is S tier if SS tier was there I believe is up that level
Gaga literally deserves her own category, she did all of that while dealing with chronic pain
She definitely doesn't deserve her own category. She's in the S tier, the apex category, chill.💀
@@deviantmoore9744 If anyone deserves it it is Prince
she was in chronic pain?! oh my god 😳
@@imani7979 Yeah, watch her documentary five foot two, she was in constant pain especially in 2017 (she had to cancel shows later on bc of it).
Prince too I'm pretty sure
I was most surprised by Katy Perry's show. I had low expectations but she just came out and went absolutely bananas with the spectacle and let it rock. As they say, the moment was not too big for her. She came out and just owned it with charisma to burn.
I think other shows were better (Prince's absolutely stands alone; I remember watching it at the time and just being blown away), but Katy really delivered everything you could want in a Superbowl halftime show.
I remember everyone was talking about who she rode in on a tiger at school the next day. We could care less about the actual football.
And of course, Left Shark
13:16 hehe Deadpool
Quick Video or something along those lines.
you might know the edits better than I know them myself based on your recap LOL. thank you very much my friend
The Marron 5 rating killed me 🤣
Maroon*
*Morron
shakira & jlo shouldve been tier S it was so fun every second
As someone who LOVES The Who, they shoulda deferred their show for a year to not only understand the assignment more (it’s the freakin Super Bowl) but also to let Roger Daltry recover from his vocal surgery more. Doing it in 2011 coulda been so sweet (and saves us from Black Eyed Peas)
I was a senior in high school during Prince's performance. Man it was transcendent and it was even more perfect that I was a Colts fan at the time. But that performance was amazing.
Prince is the best Superbowl performer ever. He had the entire singing Purple Rain. That was a legendary performance
@@MrCrockaGyou realize Coldplay is one of the largest and most famous bands in the world, right? They can headline any event in about any part of the world.
@@Cristian-vl8pg Ok? What has that got to do with my comment?
Just go to the youtube video for it, you see how when you run your cursor over the bar to skip ahead, there's a huge jump right at the time Bruno starts? That's from people skipping Coldplay's performance.
i agree. its in my top 3
People can pretend that anything even comes close to Prince's show but reality is reality.
5:33 Just the fact that before Michael Jackson and even ten years after Michael Jackson no Super Bowl half time show was remotely good, even though he showed how it could be done. should have a separate category above S for him. Or at least in the S Tier
